Becoming the Alpha (Amethyst Pack BK2)
Chapter Thirty-One – Epilogue

2 Years Later

“No, no, no, no, please don’t pull on his tail Gray!” I cried out as I picked up my two-year-old little boy whose eyes matched his father’s bright blue ones, looking absolutely adorable.

“Ouch! Serena…” David growls at me as my son pulls at his tail before he shifts and picks him up.

“I’m sorry David, he’s been so active lately, he’s playful,” I grimace as I take Gray off of him.

“Good thing he’s cute,” David grumbles before walking off back to his post on the border patrol. I had been checking on the pack as it got closer to the anniversary of the battle which was always a sore subject to some and a magnificent story to others.

Although the battle was over it didn’t mean the danger was ever gone completely, vampires that hated us still lurked in the darkness, powerful magic wielders tried to push through our forces and there were even other packs who didn’t agree with our way of life, wanting to be the biggest and better pack.

Our pack was now nearing the five-hundred mark as we had Pauline and Poppy put the border spell back in place in order to stop humans coming across us, it just wasn’t worth the risk of the whole world knowing about our kind, not when they were already battling against themselves as it was.

After Zane and I had mated I had come into heat almost instantly, which brought about our little Gray, named after my father.

He was our little bundle of joy that every member in the pack loved and adored. Even if he was turning into a little terror, especially when it involved Carla’s twins, Gabrielle and Gage who were only a few months older than Gray.

Their personalities were already beginning to shine as they were so happy, cheeky and carefree. I loved them all with every piece of my heart.

They also loved their best buddy William who came over most days to play with them as he was already learning how to be the best wolf he could be, he would make an amazing Beta, just like Lucien who had stepped down but agreed to keep training the young ones and be an adviser for me instead, which I happily agreed to, while I made Daniel my new beta.

The last two years had flown by and although we had had a few hiccups here and there, the pack was thriving, we had started the ‘Mating Ball’ last year where all the unmated could go in order to give them a chance to find their mates and so far it had been a great success as myself and the other alphas were taking it in turn to host it. It made it so much easier than all the pack members having to ask permission to leave to another pack all the time, although I never had a problem with it, they could do as they liked as long as they were loyal and respectful.

“Is it true about your Mum? She’s expecting a pup with alpha Quinn?” David asks walking the border with me.

“It is. I’m not sure how I feel about it, to be honest, I understand that Quinn is her true mate and he’s a great wolf, a friend, but Dad only died like two years ago. It just doesn’t feel right.” I sigh as I put Gray back down on the ground as he giggles and wobbles on his legs but walks between us.

“I get it, I do, but everyone is entitled to being happy Serena. Your Dad would want her to be happy too and you know it,” David smiles at me kindly.

“I know, I know,” I nod watching my baby boy with a smile.

“How’s Brianna taking it? What is she now, fourteen?” He asks.

“Yeah, she’s coming to live here for a while, I get the feeling that she’s a bit pissed that she didn’t have a mother for years and now this new baby will get it all,” I sigh.

“But she doesn’t hold it against you?” David frowns.

“No, she’s looking forward to living with us, she knows that Mum and Dad were away from me for years, so she gets that I understand what it’s like without parents,”

“Wow, yeah, I kind of forgot…It’s been four years now since we first met,” David chuckles.

“And what an adventure it has been,” I laugh as I pick up Gray and spin him as he giggles.

A howl sounds in the distance as someone calls for me.

“Duty calls,” I roll my eyes, sometimes I wished I could just have a normal life, I was only twenty-two, I had so much responsibility in the pack it was hard to get a moments peace.

“Want me to take Gray home for you?” David asks.

“Alpha! We need you at the southern border!” Liv calls.

“If you don’t mind, I would appreciate it,” I sigh as he nods and picks up a struggling Gray.

“I’ll see you soon baby boy,” I kiss Gray on the head before shifting as Gray gives an excited squeal, he loved my wolf.

I raced to the southern border seeing my warriors all pacing, keeping an eye on something in the distance.

“What’s going on Warrior Liam?” I ask.

“Something’s out there…” He answers as I look into the trees.

“Come out!” I growl.

“Alpha Serena, I challenge you for alpha!” A snarl comes from the trees as a small pack emerges from them.

“Oh for god sake, this is the third one this month,” I groan.

Being the biggest and most successful packs came with a downfall, those who wanted power would challenge me and most were defeated, by the new rules, it was never to the death, I wouldn’t kill anymore if it was possible. It was until submission, although it still got very bloody.

“The sooner you destroy him, the better…I think I know him…He’s a pack destroyer,” Liam growls.

“That makes this soooo much better,” I roll my eyes at him.

“Do you accept my challenge alpha? Or are you too scared?” The wolf barked out.

“I accept your challenge and when I win you will never return,” I growl.

“IF you win, I haven’t lost a challenge yet little one,” He laughs.

“Prepare to lose,” I growl.

“We’ll see,” He chuckles before racing towards me.

Here we go, yet another challenge to get through, another battle for the pack, for my family.

“Get the pack to safety…Just in case,” I said to Liam before the challenge started.

“Yes, alpha,” he replied racing off.

Here we go again…
