Chapter 36

Valentina

I groaned trying to sit up, but my body felt so heavy. "Take it easy Tina." Jacob? What was he doing here? He wasn't supposed to be in level four.

"Jacob?" I tried to say, but my tongue felt like sand paper. Prying my eyes open slowly, I took in the area around me. It was a room I've never been in before. I tried sitting up again. "Where are we? What are you doing here?"

He kneeled next to me. "I'm not sure where we are." He helped me sit up, being careful not to touch my wings.

"How did we get here?" My body ached all over, like I was hit by a bus.

"I'm guessing you got tricked like us." I looked around him, spotting Rayne who just spoke. She was sitting on a bed holding a wrapped bundle.

"Tricked? How? Last thing I remember was Enzo..." I trailed off. I knew something was wrong with the way Enzo looked at me, I should've known something wasn't right.

"Whoever you saw wasn't Enzo, it was the shape shifter. He appeared to us as you back on level one, saying you needed our help. We followed him out the house and next thing you know we woke up here." He explained. A shape shifter... Of course! We were in the supernatural realm. "There's something else..."

"What?" He motioned for Rayne to come forward with the bundle.

"There's a reason you're in so much pain." I watched as Rayne kneeled down next to him, passing me the bundle.

I took it from her, tears springing to my eyes. I didn't need to be told what was going on, I could feel the bond between us. Pulling the cloth back, a sob left me seeing his face. He looked at me, showing his bright silver eyes. His hair was black like his fathers, and if you looked closely, you could see tiny baby horns. "Those horns didn't come from you did they?" Jacob joked.

I laughed, placing a kiss on my son cheeks. "He's perfect." He made a gurgling sound, reaching up to grab my hair. "This explains why I had to pee so badly. He was ready to come out. You're a little impatient one aren't you." I grinned.

"Hate to breakup the family reunion, but we need to find a way out of here before he comes back." Rayne looked nervously at the door, like she expected someone to bust through any minute.

"Who?"

"He said his name was Jannod." Jacob answered. Jannod...why does that name sound so familiar?

I rocked the baby in my arms as he started fussing. He needs a name, but I can't name him without Enzo. It didn't feel right. "We need to get out of here and find Enzo." With much effort I stood. It was time to be strong, if not for me then my son. I'll fight tooth and nail to get us out of here. Today, somebody was going to die.

Enzo

"Where are the others!?" I paced back and forth in his office. After killing Tigan I gathered he was working with Jannod. Both had the balls to kidnap my pregnant girl, both going to suffer painful deaths. One down one to go.

"Talgroth is on his way, Malaka has just arrived sir." Thazar looked nervous. Never has all the prince been gathered in one level, not since the fall.

But it was the horns I couldn't get control of that made him nervous. My Beast kept fighting for control. First my wings came out, which I now have concealed again. Then my talons, which are gone too. Now it's my horns, not at their full length, but definitely noticeable. I didn't know this until now but Valentina kept the Beast calm. With her gone, he wants blood.

"Good, I'll need them for scouting. She's being held somewhere and I'll need all the help I can to find her. Anyone that doesn't feel like they should help, will die at my hands. Not helping isn't an option, are we clear?" I turned to him. He was to inform the supernaturals to help, witches are good with locating spells. "Bring me your strongest witch."

Valentina

"That's the plan?" Rayne rolled her eyes."Yeah we're definitely dead."

Jacob chuckled, I narrowed my eyes at her. "You got anything better?"

"Give me a minute and I'm sure I will." I admit my plan wasn't the most fool proof, rushing the first person that walked through the door, especially with my son.

Looking down at the sleeping bundle in my arms I knew I'd do whatever it takes to get out of here. "Can't you just open the door?" My eyes snapped up to his.

Gosh I'm stupid! I can break the handle just like when I broke into that house. "Ok new plan, hold him." He took hold of my son like he was the most fragile thing in the world. Later, I'll ask if it was him or Rayne that delivered the baby.

Placing my hand on the knob I concentrated. With a hard twist, the knob popped out of place, the door slowly sliding open.

"I probably could've done that as well." Rayne mumbled. I grinned at her. Pulling the door fully open, I peeked my head out, making sure it was clear.

"Let's go." We walked down the hall and I used my powers to sense if anyone was close by. Deming it safe I turned, stopping short. "Kyle?" He stood in the middle of the hall. "What are you doing here?" Please tell me he wasn't apart of this. If I had to, I'll kill him for the safety of my son. I hope he was on the right side.

"Valentina! We have to get you out of here. Don't look at me like that! I'm not with them, I followed you here." He went to grab me, but stopped when he noticed Rayne and Jacob, and the bundle in Jacob's arm. "Please don't tell me...dammit! We really have to go. If Enzo finds out you gave birth, he won't be able to control the Beast." He looked scared and worried, a look I've never seen on him.

Enzo

I watched as Talgroth dragged a very vocal girl into the room. "Let me go! I'll kill you!" She was young, a little younger than Valentina. Where's Valentina was freshly twenty one she seemed to be around eighteen. She swung at him, scratching his cheek, he growled.

I walked over, grabbing her by the collar hauling her up. "Listen little witch, I have no time for your temper tantrums. You're going to do a locating spell for me. The next time you open your mouth it'll only be to tell me what you need to get it done. Are we clear?" She nodded, fear in her eyes. "Good." I dropped her, going to take a seat in Thazar office chair. This was taking too long to find her, any longer and the Beast will be out to play. And he's not as nice as I am. He cares for Valentina deeply, more than anything else on this earth.

I watched the witch forming the things in a circle around her. She looked up at me. "I need something of hers." Knowing that was a requirement I tossed her a shirt.

Malaka walked in then, holding a small cage. "I found the dragon." When I noticed both Valentina and the dragon missing from the room, I had them running around the whole palace to find them. "He was still in the room, just glamoured. "

"Release him." He was hesitant, everyone knew the story of Gazzaks. But this one belonged to Valentina, she'd kill me if she knew I left him caged. She'll never admit out loud but ik she's grown to like the little thing. And after today's events, I wouldn't mind if he ate a few people here in his anger.

"I found her." I stood walking over to her.

"Tell me where she is."
