Chapter 7 A choice

I flew towards the soldier base and cut my way through the steel roof immediately soldiers began to fire at me, shots of plasma firing towards me I avoided each one with ease then flew down activating my laser blade, pinning one of the soldiers to the ground, the blade barely touching his neck. I glared at him with fury knowing this was one of the murders, then I said.

“Tell me where Yoder is and ill let you live.” He looked up at me in fear then dropped his weapon the other soldiers still had them raised then he said shaken.

“In..the..dorm...room. Please..spare..me.” I turned off my blade then elbowed him in the face with the wrist holster. Blood spurted from his swollen face.

“COWARD! KELYA RHODES TRAITOR! PREPARE TO DIE!” One soldier roared, then multiple streams of plasma shot towards me. I avoided each one then elbowed the soldiers in the chest, they groaned, spat out blood, then collapsed to the floor. I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my back, I turned around to see a fallen soldier had shot through my armor and a wound was now in my back. He collapsed to the ground after firing, so I ran through the base multiple soldiers were blocking my way one picked up the machine gun. Multiple streams of plasma shot towards me I tried to avoid but got hit in the shoulder leg and chest. The soldier grinned at me then said.

“Prepare to die traitor!”

“No! You blindly following Breckett he's using you to kill the dragons!” I shouted.

“Of course he is I am a part of an elite army that President Breckett has, we are know as the Dragon Killers.” He replied, I stood my ground my laser blade still activated.

“Get out of my way! I don’t want to kill you.” I replied, he looked at me and didn’t move then pulled out a laser sword, and said.

“Come and face me Traitor!” I pulled out my fathers laser sword and activated it it hummed and glowed vibrantly. He lunged towards me I blocked his attack then with a swift move, I sliced through his chest, the blade effortlessly pieced through his armor then reappearing out of his back. His face twisted in fury as blood poured from the gash in his chest. Then I pulled the blade out his still body slumped to the ground, blood pouring from his body. One soldier rushed to push a button on the wall, a loud siren noise filled the area. Then from up above I heard a disembodied voice say.

"Alert Kelya Rhodes is a traitor to The Kingdom of Ceghyla, she has betrayed humanity for the dragons. Please be advised she is extremely dangerous if you see make sure to kill on sight or call the army."

As soon as I heard that I began to slash through soldier after soldier blood splattering onto my armor.

"As of today forever I am a traitor to my kind my kingdom and my city. As of today I will forever be shunned by mankind." I thought as I was fighting the soldiers. The last one fell to the ground with a thud. I walked into the soldiers dorms, immediately everyone backed away up against a wall, everyone except Bryce who had his gun pointed at my head. I looked at him with sad eyes wishing there where better circumstances of our reunion. On the wall next to him was a holo wanted poster my calm face staring back at me.

"I know what you've done, and what you did to accomplish it!" He barked the gun still pointed up at me. "Why why did you do it. Even after they murdered thousands including your father!" The gun was now shaking in his hand and he shouted in between sobs. "I...cared..about..you..and...you. Betray..your..own..people..for...THEM! You..know..I..have..to..kill..you! You..know..I..have..too!"

"Bryce you don't understand I-"

"I UNDERSTAND PLENTY! YOU ALWAYS WERE FASCINATED BY THE DRAGONS. BUT NEVER IN MY LIFE WOULD I THINK YOU WOULD SIDE WITH THEM!!!"

"BRYCE! Don't do this." I replied, he slowly lowered his weapon.

"Bryce the legend we know is a lie. We killed Arvossaess that's why Xorginym still attacks us."

"But that was thousands of years ago." He replied.

"I know but think what that attack created."

"Fear." He replied.

"Yeah so the humans still fought the dragons over and over again. We are the reason the war started and still continues." I replied, he looked at me then said.

"What if that's a lie. Kelya can you really forgive what they did?"

"Then I betrayed my people, and yes I can after what I have seen." I replied, all of a sudden the President appeared on the large holo screen hanging above the room. "People of Ceghyla the Dragons have decided to show there ugly faces and attack this kingdom Xorginym King of Dragons is leading them!" He roared, people started yelling, then he shouted. "He may have hundreds of thosands of dragons, So I ask you now all of you! Join the army and help us destroy these bastards once and for all!" The crowd started cheering and shouting. "TODAY IS THE DAY ARESBURY WILL RUN RED WITH THE BLOOD OF DRAGONS!"

"Now I ask you will you help me?" I asked as the crowd was cheering.

"Yes of course, remember I got your back." He replied, then some soldiers stepped forwards and said.

"If what you say is true Kelya then count me in. Names Christine McCarthy." A thin dark skinned girl, with her long blond hair in a ponytail replied.

"Names Carl Gould." A large boy with pale skin, and brown hair replied.

"Names Luke Barlow, lets give it a shot." A skinny tall boy with dark light skin and messy black hair replied.

"As of today we are the Rebellion. We are The Rebels of Ceghyla." I replied looking at everyone they where smiling back and so was Bryce. "Now we have a chance." I thought to myself.
