Chapter 6 The Traitor

I stared at him in fear then said.

“No please don’t do this! There has to be a way to end this war!” He looked at me with fury then shouted.

“There isn’t my son has been taken! Its time for you people to perish! Its time for us to take back Aresbury!” Then without warning he flew out of the castle followed by hundreds upon hundreds of dragons. Some dragons stayed behind, as the army flew towards the rising sun. A giant war was about to happen and there was only one person who could stop it the president. I flew up into the sky flying as fast as I could zooming past the dragons, flying to Sliyphia. I landed in front of the office building and rushed into the swinging doors, and rushed up the stairs to the 20th floor. The man dressed in the suit rushed up towards me and shouted.

“Hey you not supposed to be in here!” He lunged towards me, I jumped out of the way and the man went crashing into the wall, he pushed a button on his phone and scrambled up facing me.

“The army will be here soon traitor.” He barked.

“I don’t have time for this I need to see the president!” I roared.

“No absolutely not I-” He paused then picked up his phone and said. “Yeah. ok. WHAT! Sir are you- Of course very well sir.”

He motioned for me to follow him into an elevator. The elevator went upwards the city getting smaller and smaller as we went higher and higher. Then it stopped before me was a large room lined with glass windows, a single desk stood before me overlooking the city. A large man sitting in the desk was smoking and looking at me, he motioned for me to come closer.

“Sit.” I did then I said.

“Sir the dragons are coming! We need to-”

“Ah about time too.” He said while a cigarette was clenched in his teeth.

“What do you mean?” I said and started to get out my seat.

“Well I knew that son of a bitch king of there’s would come if we had the prince.” He replied then smiled.

“What do you mean had the prince?” I asked, then saw his hand reach under his desk.

“Well we had to make sure the people didn’t have to believe what you said.” He replied smiling, his hand slowly coming out from under his desk. I jumped up from my seat and glared at him and shouted.

“Wait why! The people-” I paused. “What do you mean had to make sure the people didn’t believe?” I asked, he pulled out a long gun a held it over his shoulder, it was a sniper then I realized.

“You. You..YOU MADE HIM GO CRAZY!” I roared, my laser blade now activated.

“Exactly. I designed a bullet that would cause a dragon to attack without mercy. Which was the perfect way to show that they are bloodthirsty monsters.” He replied calmly.

“WHY?! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!” I roared.

“Because I need to show the people what monsters they are! So I can have hundreds of soldiers wiping them out one by one!”

“So you have sent hundreds to die! Because you are afraid of them!” I roared.

“No.” He replied calmly.

"Then why? Why do you hate them!" I asked, for a brief moment I saw a sad expression fill his face, and he said.

"Cause they killed my daughter Caroline. It happened in 2009 the city was being attacked by dragons, our apartment began to be consumed by flames. We tried to escape, Caroline opened the door and that's when I saw a dragon for the first time, it opened it jaws and unleashed a fire blast. I jumped for cover, Caroline was consumed by the flames. I will never forget the smell of burning flesh. All that was left was a pile of ashes."

“Sir i'm so sorry about what happened to her. But there's something you need to know there not monsters! We killed the kings wife that’s why they attack us! We started the war!” I shouted.

“Lies! They are bloodthirsty monsters that kill us without mercy! They murdered my daughter! THAT IS WHY THEY NEED TO BE ERADICATED! AND I DON’T CARE IF MILLIONS DIE COMPLETING IT!” He boomed with evil.

“YOU LET MY FATHER DIE FOR NOTHING! SO YOUR GOING TO KILL EVERYONE JUST TO KILL XORGINYM! YOUR INSANE! IS THIS WHAT CAROLINE WOULD HAVE WANTED!” I shouted.

“I AM THE FUTURE OF THIS KINGDOM! PEOPLE WILL REJOICE ONCE THE DRAGONS ARE GONE! AND I WILL FINALLY AVENGE HER!” He shouted laughing maniacally.

“NO! I WONT LET YOU!” I shouted my blade prepared to strike.

“Then a pity that you must die, cause you remind me so much like her!” Immediately a purple dragon emerged from the floor where Breckett was standing, it was wearing a strange helmet over it head. When it emerged out of the ground I realized that this was Kyrranth. Breckett was sitting on top of him.

“Kyrranth. Your alive.” I said smiling up at him, he looked at me, then his eyes changed red. He slashed down at me, I went flying into a wall. I spat out blood as I hit the wall then scrambled back up to my feet, holding my ground then realizing there where two vials on top of the helmet both going into Kyrranth’s head.

“Kyrranth fight it! Don’t give in!” I shouted, Kyrranth looked at me and started shaking his whole body, Breckett started hitting him violently jabbing him with his gun.

"KILL HER! KILL HER!" He roared, Kyrranth leaped forwards towards me his claws slashing towards me, I blocked the fatal blow as I felt a sharp pain in my chest. Then without warning I went flying backwards into the glass window, the glass started to shatter. I got up and prepared to kill Breckett, my blade slashed through his suit. His clothes suddenly ripped from his body reveling him wearing soldiers armor. Kyrranth grabbed me and pinned me to the ground, Breckett pointed his gun at me and said.

"Prepare to die." A shot of plasma went towards me I jumped out of the way and crashed my way through the large window, glass shattered everywhere as I flew through. I turned around to see Breckett glaring at me as I flew far away from the office building.

"There's only one hope left to stop all this, the soldiers." I said.
