Chapter 4 Truth

“What do you mean a lie? I asked.

“Well as you know a thousand years ago only dragons ruled the land but then Arvossaess brought life to this land, creating you. A human named Ceghyla wanted to live in harmony with the dragons so time went on and Arvossaess, Bringer of Life married Xorginym King of The Dragons. Then the dragons attacked the humans, the only reason we attacked you was because of what you did. You humans became so obsessed over the power to create life that you wanted it for yourselves, you captured Arvossaess and tried to take her gift to create life. This act eventually killed her, Xorginym filled with sorrow over her decided to kill the humans that did it. And so the war between Dragons and Humans began, Xorginym begun to slaughter your people over the grief of Arvossaess. Xorginym became know as The Bringer of Death eventually the humans became afraid of us and decided that we needed to be exterminated. Someone named Sliyphia designed weapons to fight against us, and so the war continued up to this day.” He finished his tale, I stared up at him with shock then he said.

“So it was you who started this war not us, it was you who killed my mother.” A thousand things were going through my head this wonderful city I lived in was nothing but lies, the person who it was named after, the technology invented, the man in charge. The people sent to fight died because of fear. All this time we where the villains.

“Uh-”

“Kyrranth Prince of Iqunearean.” He replied.

“Kyrranth i'm sorry about you mother and what we did.” I replied.

“Really. You believe my tale?” He asked.

“Yes. Because you have been here longer than we have. I had a feeling something was wrong.” I replied then started sobbing.

“Whats wrong uh-”

“Kelya Rhodes.” I replied in between sobs. “Its just my father was killed because of fear.”

“I'm sorry. I had no idea.” He replied.

“Its ok. I think its time for the world to know the truth.” I replied, he walked up to me then said.

“What! I can’t go with you they will kill me!”

“But they need to know the truth! They have the right to know what there people died for!” I shouted. “Can’t you talk to your father?” I asked.

“I can try. Maybe just maybe we can bring an end to this war. You are a very strange human Kelya.” Kyrranth replied, and then flew up into the golden sky, the sun was setting as I flew back towards Sliyphia. I landed in the center of town looking around me. “This place is a lie, that office sits a coward, that wall represents sorrow not sacrifice, that statue represents a fool.” I though these things as I walked back to my dorm room. I couldn’t go back to the army base not after everything that I know. I can’t kill those innocent dragons never again. I sat on my bed then decided I needed to bring Kyrranth here, to show that dragons are not evil. I sat down at my desk and began to create a device to make him invisible.

I smuggled some parts from the professors office, then dashed back to my room to build the device. Several weeks later it was finished I flew back over the wall and to the battlefield the dragons and dead humans were now nothing but bones. I saw in the distance a purple dragon flying towards me. He landed and then said.

“Kelya he won't listen to me! He thinks I've sided with you!” Kyrranth shouted, I placed my hand on his back then said.

“Well probably the same for me.” I replied.

“What! Are you mad, the army could kill you in seconds for treason!” He shouted.

“Its fine. I wont let anymore innocent lives perish, that includes you.” I replied looking up at him, I placed the device on him within seconds he vanished. “You coming with me to Sliyphia were going to show the world the truth.” He followed me and we slipped into my dorm room, I shut the door and locked it. He looked down at me, grinned and said.

“Your room is very cramped. So now were traitors.”

“Yep” We walked out of the college and into the center of the city Kyrranth was now clearly visibly, people of all sort gaped open mouthed at him from windows cars and streets. A loud noise filled the air and a voice said.

“Alert! Alert! All humans back to your homes! There is a dragon in Sliyphia! I repeat there is a dragon in Sliyphia!” Cars flew above us soldiers jumped out there weapons drawn and laser blades activated. Bryce pointed his blaster at Kyrranth but when he saw me step forwards he slowly put it down. Then Commander Kyris stepped towards the soldiers his machine blaster held in his hands. A helicopter was flying above recording the scene to televisions everywhere.

“Kelya step away from the dragon!” Kyris barked.

“No!” I roared, he looked at me with fury then shouted.

“Traitor! Traitor! Fire when ready!”

“Stop! Attention people of Ceghyla I am Kelya Rhodes,and this is Kyrranth Prince of Iqunearean!” I shouted, many people gasped then backed away and screamed in fear. “No! there’s nothing to be afraid of the legend of Aresbury is a LIE!” People gasped then stared down at us with confusion. “We were the ones who started this war we murdered Arvossaess because of our greed! This is living proof that it is true, this dragon spared my life! He agrees with me that there is too much blood being split! So I ask you now stand with me and Kyrranth put aside the fear and end this war once and for all!” I shouted some people started cheering and clapping, the soldiers were slowly lowering there weapons. I smiled up at Kyrranth, then I saw within seconds his eyes turn red, and he glared down at me with fury, then opened his mouth towards the soldiers, they immediately raised there weapons. I saw him preparing to lunge forwards at the soldiers I grabbed onto him and shouted. “Kyrranth! No!”
