Chapter No 5 Heat

“We need testing,″ said the short-haired girl who was a member of the school band. She had a pixie-purple haircut.

She got on the stage, ’Hello I am Althea, I am going to sing, ‘Call me maybe by Carly Japsen’,” she said, smiling.

The music starts.

I threw a wish in the well, don’t ask me, I’ll never tell......she started singing.

Her voice was echoing in the school hall. Jacob was sitting with Gena outside of the audition room; he smiled. Nobody knew who was singing. Jacob smiled because he knew.

“Who is she? I mean her voice is so beautiful,” said Gena.

“That’s my cousin, Althea,” he said, smiling.

“So music runs in the family?” She said while looking at him, flirting. Jacob was also a singer and he was there to give an audition.

“Many more things run in the family if you want to see them in bed’,′ he said while getting closer to her.

Tyler was passing by with Julia when he heard her. It was the first time she had been singing publicly,

“This voice, it’s beautiful,” he said in a whisper. He stopped by but Julia was insisting .

“Come on, what is happening to him today? That bitch made my day miserable and now this is some random bitch,″ Julia thought angrily.

“We should have some fun. Why are you listening to this mess,” she said, annoyed. He turned and walked away. Jacob was looking at them and he rolled his eyes.

“Who are they?’ Asked Gena.

“It’s my cousin Tyler with his stupid dumb girlfriend,” he said, annoyed.

“She is his girlfriend? Why on the planet does a good-looking man like him date that shit,″ she said, annoyed.

“Great,” he said in a huskier voice.

“Amm, someone is jealous,” she said mischievously.

Her song was over and she went out.

He got up and clapped, “Well done partner, that was amazing”, he said, smiling.

“Hey Jacob, are you here for the audition?” She asked happily.

“Yeah, I am, but there is a problem,” he said.

“What happened?” She asked worriedly.

“As you know, the song I have written is not solo so I will need a female lead to sing along, and my girlfriend Gena cannot sing, so I need a singer and here you are, you sing so well,” he said, smiling.

She greeted Gena. “I? But you are also a good singer. How would I stand by you?” She said awkwardly.

“I trust you, your voice was so beautiful when you were singing, even a passerby with his airhead girlfriend stopped by to listen,” said Gena, smiling. Jacob had a mischievous expression on his face.

“Tyler? Am I right?” She asked.

“Yeah he was here with Julia,” he said, smiling.

“Can we go somewhere quiet?” She asked.

“Yeah, but first tell me you will be my partner?” He asked, smiling.

“Okay fine, I will be your partner,” she said, exhausted. They walked slowly out of school.

“What is it? You want to tell me?” Asked Jacob.

“Tell him only about your incident with Tyler, not about the heat now, because Gena is here,” said Lilly.

“I saw Tyler making out with Susan this morning in the library,” she said awkwardly.

“What?” asked Jacob. He was jaw-dropped, and then both Jacob and Gena laughed uncontrollably.

“You saw them making out. I mean this would be the last thing I wanted to see,” said Jacob.

“And I made them notice me,” she said, embarrassed.

“You gotta be kidding me,” he said, laughing.

“Yeah laugh now,” she said, annoyed.

She was standing outside of the school when it was raining; Jacob had gone to drop Gena in her car. She was waiting for him when she felt a very sharp pain in her body. Tyler was passing by. The pain had made her blind; her whole body was in heat. Jacob was coming towards her when he saw her like that, even Tyler had noticed her, and she turned to Jacob.

“Jacob,” she called his name and collapsed into his arms.

“Althea?” Called out Jacob, but she was faint.

Tyler, who was standing twenty feet away, was watching it all. He mind-links Jacob.

“Take her home, it’s raining already,” he said, and sat inside his car.

“I am taking her home,” he said by mind link. He could feel her body was so hot. He lifted her and took her to Gena’s apartment.

She opened the door.

“What happened to Althea? Is she okay?” She asked worriedly.

“I don’t know Gena, she collapsed,” he said worriedly. He placed her on the sofa.

“Let me check her,” she said.

“But you are not a doctor, how?” He asked.

“My parents are pack doctors, I can check her,” she checked her veins. After fifteen minutes, she got up and smiled mischievously.

“Has she found her mate?” She asked.

“No she did not,” he replied,

She smiled even more.

“What happened?” He asked curiously.

“Your cousin is in heat, Jacob,” she said, while looking into his eyes. Jacob was staring at her like he heard Althea was pregnant,

“Amm well… heat, I mean great,” he said awkwardly.

“Sometimes it happens, her wolf wants to get laid with her mate, so that’s why she is feeling the heat. It happens to female wolves for a week to 21 days and after that, they stop feeling heat until the next cycle,” she said, smiling.

Althea opens her eyes, “What happened? I collapsed” she said.

“Where am I?” She asked.

“You are at my place,” said Gena.

“Jacob, I am sorry, I was in so much pain that I fell,” she said, embarrassed.

“No, it’s okay Althea,” he said awkwardly.

“She is in heat, this is embarrassing. How would I tell her this? I am feeling awkward,” he thought.

“Don’t worry Jacob, I will tell her” said Gena. He left the room.

“Where has he gone?” She asked worriedly.

“He will be here after a while,” said Gena. There was an awkward silence in the room.

“Okay, Althea, since when are you feeling heat and pain?” She asked.

“How do you know about this,” asked Althea, shocked.

“My parents are doctors, they taught me a lot about it. I even want to become a doctor too. I checked up on your nerves and that concludes you are in heat, since when are you feeling it?” She asked politely. Althea feels embarrassed, so she tells her everything.

“So you have been feeling it for a week?” She asked her. She nodded.

“Okay, do you know what it is?” She said, politely.

“No,” Althea said while looking away.

“Your wolf wants to make love with his mate. It’s a cycle that happens to every female werewolf when they find their mates. Have you found yours?” She asked, smiling.

“No I did not, and I am sure my mate is not from this pack and if he is, then he will reject me for sure,” she said sadly.

“Hey, don’t think that moon goddess did not make a bad decision. If she gives you these eyes, then she has reasons,” she said, smiling,

“Your eyes are unique,” she said, winking at her. Jacob came in after a while.

“So did you tell her?” he asked awkwardly.

“Althea, you okay?” He asked her awkwardly.

“Oh come on Jacob, you are reacting like you never had an adult talk. I mean you guys are best friends,” said Gena.

“We did, but my friend is in heat,” he said.

“Every werewolf woman does, even I will too if I find my mate, but this is strange. She has not shifted yet, as you told me, and she is not 18. How can that be?” She said, and Jacob coughed.

“Maybe it’s because of her eyes. You know she’s different,” he said, smiling.

She was still in thought. Jacob gave Althea a sigh. His phone rang, he answered the call and went out of the room. After 5 minutes, he came back. His expression was surprisingly happy.

“What happened?” Asked Althea.

“Guess what? I am selected for the school’s upcoming show where I have to sing” he said happily.

“Wow that’s good news,” said Gena, clapping as she walked towards him and kissed him on his cheek.

“Now I have my female vocal lead too and that’s you,” he said while pointing at Althea. She smiled.

Althea’s House

It was raining outside, Viviana was at their place today, and she was playing with Collin. They were playing princess and price.

“Althea, look, I am the princess” called out Viviana. She put her book down and smiled.

“You guys remind me of Jacob and me,” she said, smiling.

“Jacob and you used to play?” Asked Collin.

“Yeah, we have been best friends since childhood,” she said.

“So, he would be your mate too?” Viviana said.

“No, he is a very good friend of mine. I never felt anything like that for him,” she said while smiling widely. Then her phone rang and she answered the call.

“Althea, Viviana is at your place?” Said Luna Eliza.

“Yeah, she is” she responded.

“Can you bring her home? I would have come but we had an urgent meeting with a fellow pack,” said Luna.

“Yeah, sure I will take her when the rain stops” she responded.

“Your mum wants you at home princess,” she said to Viviana.

“Okay Collin, I will see you tomorrow at school, my prince,” she said, and kissed Collin on his cheeks. He turned bright red. Althea was shocked and then she laughed.

After 20 minutes, the rain stopped. “Okay Collin, I am going to drop Vivi at home. I will be back soon. Mommy is in a pack meeting with Dad and Alpha,” she said to Collin. He nodded and she left.

She drives Viviana to a packed house in her new car Jack gifted her.

“Here, Princess, we are home,” she said and got out of the car.

“Don’t you want to come in?” She asked innocently.

“Sweetie, Jacob might not be home. What will I do?” She said, smiling,

“Only Jacob is your friend? Not me?” She said innocently. Althea laughed and said.

“Okay, I am coming,” they both walked inside the big mansion. Viviana took her inside her room; the room was so pink.

“You like pink?” She asked.

“Yeah I do, I am a princess,” She said happily.

She walked towards the cupboard and the furniture, everything was neat. The room was well decorated.

“You know, Tyler arranged this room for me on my birthday,” Viviana said.

“What does he?” she asked in a whisper. She could not believe Tyler could do it.

“What do you like?” She asked.

“I like purple,” she said. “Wow, that’s close to pink,” she said, smiling.

“Okay it’s getting late honey, it’s already 9 o’clock, I have to go home,” she said. Viviana got closer to her and asked her to kneel. She kneeled. Viviana kissed her cheek.

“You are the prettiest girl in the pack, especially those eyes of yours. They are just jealous,” she said softly. Althea smiled and slowly hugged her.

“Thanks, princess,” she said softly with tears in her eyes. Everyone had always mistreated her, but few people loved her and those people were her real family. She smiled at her and said, “Sleep well” and she left the room.

She walks slowly trying to find the way out. She had never walked around the pack house, she had only been in Jacob’s room and Regina’s room.

“Shitty place, this is too huge,” she thought, annoyed.

“I think I should call Jacob to guide me” she dialed his number.

He was kissing her deeply. As deep as he went she moaned, “You are my real wolf”, she whispered.

She moved her finger around his hair. He pulled her hair. They were so much in pleasure; she could feel every inch of his skin. She kissed him on his cheek. His phone was ringing. He tried to grab it but she pulled him towards her, and it fell off the bed. She hugged him and he got lost in her again.

“I wish you would be my mate, I am so in love with you,” Gena said in a whisper.

“I have loved you too, Gena, since the day I saw you,” he said while taking breaths, heavily. He moaned. She kissed him deeply and they both got lost in each other. The phone was still ringing.

“Damn Jacob,” Althea said. She started looking for a way of her own. She decided to mind-link Luna, but as for the pack law, she was unable to send a mind-link, as she was considered a rogue, she could only mind-link those she was close to.

She tried to contact Jacob with a mind link, but it looked like he had blocked everyone. She rolled her eyes. She walked towards the nearby room and knocked.

“Maybe in this room, I can ask someone to tell me the way out,” she thought.

She knocked on the door, but there was no response. She pulled it, and it was opened.

“Hello, anyone in there?” She called out but there was no response.

Someone was taking a shower in the bathroom. She walked ahead and called out “Hello”.

She looked ahead and the horror was hanging on the wall laughing at her arrogantly.

“I am in his room,” she thought and panicked. She turned to leave but the door behind her was closed. The door had an automatic lock that could only be opened by a key. She felt her feet numb.

“He will eat me up alive if he sees me here. What can I do? Jacob, where are you always when I am in trouble?” she thought, annoyed.

She was trying hard to open the door; she took her hairpin and tried to open the door. But the door was not opening, so she got up and whispered.

“Why on the planet did this jerk have to put an automatic lock on the door?” she whispered.

But suddenly she felt a very cold stare behind her back. She turned and was startled. He was staring at her with anger in his eyes. She felt her legs numb, she always felt vulnerable in front of him.

He was standing, arms crossed; there were water drops on his chest. He had wrapped a towel around his waist. His jet-black hair was messed over his forehead. He was staring at her with anger.

“I, I had got lost and ended up….” She muttered something. He walked ahead closer to her, looking into her eyes. She felt her heart pounding. He was so close that she could feel his breath on her face, it reminded her of the night in the woods. She was drawn to him, but she knew it was wrong.

He was so close that he was about to kiss her, the body heat and the scent were so appealing. She closed her eyes, but then she heard a clicking sound. The door opened.

“Leave,” he said expressionless. She felt relieved and ran out of his room.

He smiled and after a second the smile faded away.
