Chapter No 4 High School Is Mess

She woke up a bit late this morning.

She walked slowly towards the shower; she stopped by a mirror and observed her reflection. She was staring at herself; the memory of last night was fresh in her mind.

She felt a strange attraction towards him, it was as if her whole body was burning, and she had never felt anything like that before. That feeling was strange and great. She was feeling pain, a great unknown pain, and the heat.

At first, she thought she was about to shift, but it was not about the shift, it was something else. Ignoring her feelings, she went to the bathroom to get a warm shower. She turned on the tab and warm water hit her body.

After fifteen minutes, she came out of the bathroom and put on her favorite yellow dress. She went down to grab something to eat.

When she entered the kitchen, unexpectedly, Jacob ran towards her and hugged her.

“Jacob, when did you come back?” She asked. She looked at her parents, who also had poker expressions.

“What happened?” She asked.

“What happened? Althea, are you serious?” Ruby asked. She had never seen her in such a temper.

“Thank Goodness, you are okay Althea. I was worried sick, Tyler had mind-linked Alpha last night and said there was a rogue in the woods who attacked you,” said Jacob. worried.

“The jerk, he told everyone? Why not? He wants to become a hero, of course,” she thought, annoyed.

“I came here as soon as I could. See why you have gone to the woods Althea? I told you to control your wolf,” he said while checking her out if she was okay.

“I am fine, I am fine Jacob. My wolf was urging me to go outside, so I went outside,” she said sheepishly.

“You could have told us, honey,” said Jack angrily.

“Sorry Daddy, I thought mom was tired lately so I did not want to mock her, so I went on my own,” she said innocently.

“Oh honey, if anything happened to you,” said Ruby, and she ran to hug her.

“I am fine Mom, I am fine,” she said, smiling. She was still feeling pain and heat, but she was not telling this to anyone as they were already worried.

“Lilly, why am I feeling so hot?” She asked her wolf.

“I still don’t understand it Althea, I am feeling it, it’s pain and the heat at the same time,” her wolf responded.

“Do you want to shift?” Althea asked.

“No, it’s not an urge to shift,” said Lilly.

“What happened?” Asked Jacob.

“Nothing, I was just talking to Lily about last night,” she said.

“You don’t know how worried I was. Don’t ever do that,” said Jacob, annoyed, and she smiled.

“Are you going back?” She asked.

“Our grandparents are not good, it looks like they are taking their last breath,” said Jacob sadly.

“They were the previous Alpha and Luna of the pack,” said Jack.

“Althea, you want to shift today?” asked Jacob.

“No, Jacob, I am fine, you should go to your grandparents’,” she said, smiling.

“Promise me you wouldn’t go there alone if it was not because of Tyler. I can’t think of anything else,” he said, worried.

“It’s okay Jacob, I am fine,” she said.

It’d been two weeks; Jacob had not returned and she saw Tyler again in the pack house when she went with Viviana. He was still as cold as he used to be. But whenever she saw him, the pain and the heat increased.

She was preparing things for high school. She missed Jacob as he was her only friend in the pack. People envy her for being different. She wanted to know about the heat, but she was afraid to make them worry. She has to attend school tomorrow. She was wondering if Jacob would be back. She had not shifted during the last cycle.

She had prepared her bag for high school’s first day.

“Already done,” she whispered, when she felt someone standing behind her, she realized it was Collin.

“Hey,” She said softly. He is already in his teens.

“So your high school life is starting tomorrow?” He asked while sitting on her bed.

“Yeah, it is and I hope it will go smoothly,” she said.

“If anyone bullies you, come to me and straight tell me, I will set their ass on fire,” he said mischievously.

“Where did you learn that from?” She asked furiously.

“I went to Viviana’s house when we heard Tyler saying that to someone,” he said, smiling. She felt so furious.

“You will call Viviana here and will not go there from now on,” she said angrily.

“How could he talk like this in front of kids?” she said furiously.

“He did not know we were there, he was on the phone when he passed by us and said, “Why do I care if she is with him? I want to set his ass on fire,” he said innocently.

“Yeah, now Prince has got a goodie crush,” she thought while rolling her eyes. She put her bag on the sofa and left the room.

“Oh no, Jacob is still not here. I have to go alone?” She thought while standing outside of her house. She was walking sadly on the street, the school was within walking distance and suddenly she noticed someone was walking beside her.

She stopped and looked beside her. It was Jacob.

“Jacob, you are back,” she said, hugging him.

“Of course I am back, it is our first day,” he said, smiling. He never breaks her heart, it was like they were made to be best friends.

“Let’s go or else we will be late,” she said, and they both walked towards Jacob’s car.

High school was a surprise to them. Students from the senior year were walking carelessly and a few of them were bullying the newcomers.

“Is this place the high school?” She whispered.

“Yeah, I think so and guess what, our lover boy is already fitting in the situation,” he said while pointing at Tyler who stood beside some, brunette girl carelessly while she was flirting with him.

A glimpse of him gave Althea the same pain and heated feeling, but this time it was strong. Her heart was racing fast.

“Let’s go at 8….” said Jacob, but he stopped in the middle while looking at her.

“What happened?” He asked.

“Nothing, I am fine,” she said.

“You sure?” he asked.

“Yeah, let’s go,” she said energetically, but inside she was exhausted. She turned left to leave when Tyler looked at her. Their eyes met for a few seconds; he was looking at her until she left.

“Look, is that purple-eyed rogue,” said Julia, who was smiling evilly.

“She is taking advantage of being the so-called daughter of Beta,” said Hannah. Ignoring gossiping, she was walking slowly. She was used to this. She sat on the bench as usual with Jacob.

“High school is an ass,” during the lecture she told Jacob, who laughed.

“Mr. Jacob, may I have your attention to tell me what Joke Miss Althea had told you?” Said the professor while crossing her arms angrily.

“It was nothing, we were discussing some stuff which turned out a bit funny,” he said confidentially.

“Both of you get up and leave,” said Professor.

Now the class was gossiping.

Althea felt embarrassed. Tyler was also looking at them; he gave a disappointed sigh to Jacob. They had both left the class.

“It’s your fault, why did you laugh?” She said angrily.

“You cracked a joke. What did you expect from me, crying?” He said carelessly.

“It was not a joke, it was boring,” she said, annoyed.

“Well, now we are out of that boring lecture,” he said. She rolled her eyes.

A tall girl was sitting on the bench. She was looking at Jacob.

“Well, something that is not boring,” he said, smiling and waving at her.

“Are you kidding me?” She said, annoyed.

“Oh come on, I like her, I mean my first date at high school,” he said and walked towards the woman.

“Wow, now I am all alone on my own,” she said and walked away. She was walking meaninglessly for half an hour. She knew how the class

from which she was kicked off was over, she was waiting for Jacob and the next class. She walked towards the lockers when a girl stopped

her. They were in the same class as she was. Of course, Julia was with her too.

“Wait, purple shit, I think we have to talk,” said Julia.

“What do you want, Julia?” She asked furiously.

“We want nothing from dirt like you, just a thing, we will give you a dare and you have to do it,” said the tall girl.

“Hmm, I don’t think she can do it. I mean poor Dumbo did not even shift,” said Julia. She felt embarrassed.

“Oh poor kitty, but that does not make us spare you, rogue,” she said harshly.

“I need that bag of yours,” said Julia mischievously.

“No, I will not give my bag to you,” said Althea angrily.

The tall girl walked ahead slowly trying to snatch her bag. Althea’s height was not equal to that girl’s. She retreated slowly. But both Julia and the girl were walking towards her. Althea was walking backpedaling until she harshly collided with someone. Two hard hands were grabbing her from her arms as she was about to fall. She turned, much to her horror, it was Tyler. His eyes were furious. He let her go and walked towards the girls who were head over heels praising him and forgetting about Althea. She stared at his broad shoulders for a while and left. The feeling of his stronghold was still in her arms.

It took her four weeks to adjust to the school. She did not confront Tyler after that. Every student in the school went for training classes as they could shift; the werewolves needed to get trained; Althea was secretly trained by Jacob. Nobody knows that she can shift, but the mystery of Canis Lupus was more interesting. She was having a good time at school; Jacob had made a relationship with Gena, the girl they saw on the bench the other day. She felt lonely, but she spent her time in a library.

She was sitting in the Library, which was almost empty library, when she heard noises and moans. She walked slowly towards the back side of the library and then she saw something she thought would be the last thing on earth she wanted to see. Tyler was making out with Susan. She felt sick. Susan was fellow pack’s Alpha’s second daughter.

She was about to leave when she accidentally threw a book off the shelf.

They noticed her, “Look, who is here to destroy the party? A rogue,” Susan said.

“For the last time I am telling you to stop calling me, that I came here because your nasty moments were making noise in the library,” she said, annoyed.

She was talking to Susan like that but she did not dare to talk with Tyler like that. She turned to leave when he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him, she collided with his strong chest, and he used his index finger to raise her chin. She resisted at first then gave in, finally looking at him. Their eyes met and she felt electricity in her body.

“Did those noises attract you?” He asked in a huskier voice. She felt her heart race so fast.

The same pain and heat were rushing through her body. The pain was acute enough that her wolf whimpered. There were tears in her eyes due to the pain. He was looking at her, but his facial expressions did not change, he had complete command of his expressions.

“Did I hit a nerve?” he asked almost in a whisper.

“Let go of me,” she said in a whisper.

He let her go slowly and she turned, running away.

Susan hugged him from behind, “Honey, she is just a mood destroyer, we can start over,” she said, but he had lost all of his interest.

“Is that heat I felt, her eyes were screaming with feeling Axel?” He asked his wolf.

“Well, I felt her wolf was in pain and heat,” said Axel.

“But how can it be Axel she cannot shift? Everyone knows she’s got no wolf,” he said.

“I am afraid I don’t know” Axel had responded.

“Come on honey,” said Susan. He looked at her and walked a few steps ahead and picked up his jacket. “Not in the mood,” he said, and walked towards the door.

She went straight to the bathroom and washed her face.

“Why am I feeling this pain when he is around, Lilly?” He asked his wolf.

“I don’t know anything. Although we have to tell someone,” Lilly said.

“I will talk to Jacob about this,” she thought. She came out of the bathroom when she saw a poster about a music contest in the school. They were enrolling talented students. Since childhood she had a keen interest in music, so she decided to take part, and she enrolled her name in the contest.
