Would You Rather (Campus Games Book 3): Epilogue

Te amo

Lucas

My girlfriend is a badass.

For years, I have felt at a loss while modeling, knowing I didn’t love it. I spent my life making sure everyone around me was taken care of and that they were happy, only to realize I wasn’t happy. Not even close.

It wasn’t until this girl showed up in my life and made me realize I wasn’t making myself a priority in my own life. She made me see that I was keeping my passion, my happiness, buried down nowhere to be found.

My lips tip up in a grin when I see the revolving doors spin, my girl walking through them with a huge smile on her face. I’ve never seen this girl run, she’s not the running type, but Madeline is fucking racing toward me, her heels clanking on the ground with every step. Running in heels. That’s some talent right there.

She lunges herself into my arms, and I catch her, lifting her off the ground as she throws her legs around my waist. “Holy shit, it went that good?” I ask her.

She tips her head back and lets out a cute little laugh, shaking her head. “It went amazing,” she says. “I think this might be it.

She’s been working so hard recently. Not only has she been studying hard as hell for her exams coming up, she’s been going to multiple auditions a week, and she’s even started attending some acting classes. I love how devoted she is and how passionate she is about acting. I really want this to work out for her. I want to see her achieve her dreams because she deserves it more than anyone I know.

“I’m so fucking proud of you,” I murmur against her lips, desperate for a taste of her. I’m always desperate when it comes to her. Every kiss, every taste, every word from her lips has me hooked.

She lets out a shaky breath when I pull back and press my forehead against hers. “This time was different,” she says. “I could feel it. They smiled, they laughed. They loved me.”

“Who doesn’t?” I ask, grasping her face in my hands. “It’s impossible not to love you.” I shake my head, staring into those eyes that tug at my heart. “I never stood a chance.”

She rolls her eyes, a hint of a smirk on her cherry-red lips that drives me crazy. “That’s because you’re getting in my pants.”

I scoff, dropping her back down to her feet. My hand snakes around her waist as I pull her into me, loving the soft gasp that comes out of her lips as she places her hand on my chest. “You know damn well I fell for you way before that.”

Her eyes soften, and her lips part, no doubt thinking back to so many instances where we were at the verge of ripping apart every single one of those rules she had in place.

“Even before then,” I admit. “Even back in that damn elevator, you were always mine.” I breathe hard, thinking back to how we met. “If it hadn’t been that, then it would have been something else that brought us together.” I lift my hand to clutch her face, bringing her an inch away from me. “You were always destined to be mine.”

Her eyes widen as she looks at me, and I swear I’m so fucking close to getting on one knee right here, right now. Fuck, she drives me crazy. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her. “You believe that?” she asks.

“With my whole heart.” And every organ in my body. She was always meant to be my girl. “Minha princesa,” I whisper against her lips. My princess.

She presses her lips to mine before she smiles, looking up at me. “Te amo.” I love you.

My eyes widen, and my heart stops in my chest. Did I really just hear the love of my life tell me she loves me in my language? “Say that again,” I plead gruffly. “Please.”

She wraps her arms around my neck as she lifts herself onto her tip-toes. “Eu te amo,” she repeats, making my chest pound.

“Fuck. Eu te amo tanto.” I love you so much. I lean forward, capturing her lips with mine in a hot kiss. Her lips part as she lets me inside, and I taste her sweetness, completely fucking addicted to her.

The sound of a phone buzzing makes Madi groan into my mouth, attempting to pull away, but I hold on to her face, never wanting her away from me. “A little longer,” I plead, brushing my lips against hers. “Please.”

She chuckles against my lips. “It’s probably my mom wondering how the audition went,” she says between kisses. “I need to answer her.”

“Fine,” I sigh, pulling away from her. Madeline’s been working on her relationship with her parents, and they’ve become so much more supportive of her acting career. I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize that.

Madi has a smile on her lips as she types out a text. I love seeing how happy she gets whenever she talks to her parents. I remember how she felt like they didn’t care about her after Nia died, and that couldn’t be the furthest thing from the truth. I saw it with my own two eyes when they came to visit, how much they adore her.

I also had a not-so-fun conversation with Madeline’s dad, particularly about how our relationship started off as publicity. I had to explain that it’s the furthest thing from the truth now and that I’m deeply in love with his daughter. I think Mr. Davis is still skeptical, but I’ll work on it. I’ll spend every day proving how much I love Madeline if need be. After all, I am going to be his son-in-law one day.

I lean in to press my lips against Madeline’s cheek, physically unable to be apart from her and look down at the screen, seeing how proud her mother is of her. That makes two of us.

“You want to celebrate with ice cream?” I ask her, pressing my lips to her jaw.

She sighs, pocketing her phone before turning to face me. “Just because it went well doesn’t mean I’ll get the part, Lucas.”

I shake my head. “You will, Mads. You’re so damn talented. You deserve to celebrate, even if it’s the little wins. So what do you say?”

She lets out a laugh, but then she lifts an eyebrow at me. “That depends. Do you have better taste since then?”

Little shit. I lean down, tugging at her bottom lip between my teeth. “Don’t judge my taste. After all, I fell in love with you.

“You’re right,” she agrees. “But mint chocolate chip is awful.”

“Agree to disagree.” Interlocking her hand with mine, we head to the small ice cream truck where we had our first ‘date.’ I would say something about how cherry ice cream is just as gross, but if I’m being honest, I can’t wait to taste it on her.

A flash blinds me, and I snap my head to the right, seeing some paparazzi taking pictures of us. While I might not want to be a model anymore, my girl is now in the public eye, which means this will never go away. But I don’t mind it, as long as she never goes away.

Madeline smirks when she looks at me. “Reminds me of our first date.”

“You want to give them a show like we did back then?”

She nods, wrapping her arms around my neck while more flashes go off around us. “Kiss me, Lucas,” she whispers. “Prove to them that it’s real.”

I lift her chin with my hand, our lips stacked together. “I couldn’t care less about what they think, princesa. But I’ll spend the rest of my life proving my love to you.”
