Chapter 7: Beth Moves In

I looked up from the book I was reading to see Sandy pull into the driveway. They unloaded a few boxes and suitcases and sat them on the porch.

"Where's Rain, Beth asked?"

" She is taking a nap right now. Can I get either of you a glass of tea or lemonade?"

" No, thank you though. I have to head back to town."

" Alright, then it was good to see you again Sandy."

I watched as she hugged Beth before getting back in her car and backing out of the driveway.

"Why don't we set these in the living room until Rain wakes up I said?"

We carried the boxes and suitcases in and put them against the wall. We walked back outside and sat down. "Beth looked at me and said she was excited." I smiled over at her.

"Do you have a boyfriend Beth?"

" No, not yet."

" I don't think I really want one until I graduate from college and get settled in a job."

" That is smart thinking. You don't have one yet but you do like someone."

" I do like someone in dad's club. He is a prospect for the club. He works on the car's and motorcycle's at a garage in town the club owns."

"But?"

" I don't think he even knows that I exist."

" Well, maybe he does and he is shy."

" Oh, he isn't shy."

" But he does mess around with the club whores."

" I don't do cheating."

" Make sure that he would never cheat on you."

" My dad's president Temper, he used to sleep with the whores a long time ago. He came back from the US and has not touched them since."

"I don't know what happened in the States but he was different when he came back."

" He had a wife and child about 10 years ago they were killed. He went a little crazy for a while."

" Then he went to the US to visit a club there."

" Hammer said that he fell for a girl over there but she didn't pay him any attention. That's when he stopped sleeping with the whores."

"My dad said that Temper changed a lot since that visit."

" He is gentler with the women and kids and he tells the men who say they want a woman to make sure they can be faithful before they claim one."

" When I am at the club sometimes I see him just looking off into space."

" I wonder if he is thinking of his wife and child when he does that?"

" Or that woman he met long ago?"

"The club now does a lot of runs raising money for the community, or doing toy rides and other stuff. They have run off the trouble makers in the community and made it safer for women and children."

" They escort children and women to and from the court."

" They do a lot for the community and everyone appreciates them."

"That is a good MC."

" Yes, it is."

" They are very clean and their clothes are clean."

" The club has even loaned money to women who want to start their own business. Especially when the banks refuse to give them the loan."

" It is hard for a single woman to get a loan at the banks around here."

" The club encourages its own members to start-up businesses in the community."

" Such as daycares, tattoo shops, garages, hair salons, bakeries. They even help kids to pay for college when they can't get the money to go."

"That is a good club."

" It is."

" But, sometimes they have to have a party every now and then to release tension. The best times are the family BBQ to celebrate birth, graduation, birthdays, weddings, and when someone is claimed."

" That's nice I said in a soft voice."

" Dove, can I ask you something?"

" You can ask me anything."

"Where is the baby's father?"

" In the states. I lived with him for three years."

" Every year he would tell me he would claim me the next year. Well, I got tired of waiting for him to claim me so I left."

" Did he cheat on you?"

" No, he didn't cheat on me. But I felt like one of the club whores. I will have sex with you but I can't claim you."

"He is really tall."

" My head comes up to the middle of his stomach."

" He is an American Indian."

" He has black hair that reaches his waist. He is strong and loving."

" I told him that if he can't or won't claim me then I was leaving. So, I left."

" He sounds like Cherokee one of the club members. Accept that Cherokee has not found his woman yet."

"I will return to the US when Rain turns 18."

" She will become the president of her father's MC then. For now, the VP of the club is running it for her but I have monthly phone contact to be informed of decisions that might need to be made."

" What is the name of the man you love I asked her?"

" His name is Wolf. But apparently, he didn't love me enough to want to claim me."

"I know that he does love me in his own way but not enough to want to keep me with him I said as a tear slid down my face."

" I'm sorry Dove."

" You know, you would think that by now I would have learned to not trust what a man has to say. But we have to learn the hard way. That's why I came to another country."

"Why another country?"

" 1. he won't find me and I won't give in and go back to him even though he won't claim me. 2. So I don't have to see him someday walk in somewhere with another woman on his arm. 3. He can't take my baby from me. 4. Hope that he will miss me so much that he will want to claim me."

"But, that has not happened."

" My friend says he tells the club members I am his woman."

" In my opinion, he is using me to keep from claiming another woman."

" And if you want to claim me then I need to be standing by your side."

" I am not. I live thousands of miles away."
