We Become the Night

Caleb, a 17-year-old boy, discovers that he is descended from shape-shifting dragons and wolves but is unaware of this fact. He leads a difficult high school life, being constantly bullied and watching the boy he loves with someone else. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when his family is attacked by an unknown creature. His parents die, and his brother disappears from the hospital. Furthermore, Caleb undergoes a transformation and becomes a changeling. He finds himself in a town filled with various supernatural creatures, such as vampires, shapeshifters, fairies, witches, and other changelings. The vampire king despises his species and is determined to eliminate them all from the face of the earth. To survive, Caleb must adapt to his new life as a changeling, become a leader for the changeling community, search for his missing brother, and fight against his boyfriend's father—a sociopathic, genocidal vampire.
