Chapter 94 The Story From Imogen

“Stop looking at me like that. Everyone sees that Elijah dotes on you. Only you seem to be either acting blind or truly blind.”

Ben's words were particularly sharp and caustic, not bothering to conceal his dislike for Cordelia.

"You have a knack for shifting the blame onto others. I've truly come to understand that now. It's a pity you aren't a lawyer. You have the ability to turn black into white as you like.”

With that, Cordelia glared at Ben and refused to look at him any longer.

Ben checked the time.

Imogen was still asleep. He had originally intended to wait until she woke up, but with Cordelia’s arrival, he was now prepared to leave.

As expected, Imogen came out from inside not long after Ben left.

Her hair was disheveled, and she wore only a camisole sleep dress. Looking at Cordelia with a cheerful smile, she said, “I knew you would come. Is it true that you're getting a divorce?”

“We're going through the process, and now it's the waiting period.” Cordelia felt relieved to see that Imogen wasn't hurt, and she leaned back on the couch.

Imogen folded her arms and squinted at Cordelia. Observing Cordelia’s lazy posture, Imogen gasped in admiration, “Cordelia, you are such a stunning.”

Cordelia gestured to Imogen with a finger and said, “Come here. Let me check if you're bruised.”

“No. Elissa, that jerk, just pulled my hair. It hurt at the time, but I'm not bruised. Instead, I scratched her,” Imogen said proudly.

“What was it all about?” Cordelia asked with concern.

Imogen waved her hand. “She said my Morgan had ulterior motives towards her. You know Morgan's personality, right? He's so proud and arrogant. How could he have a thing for her?”

Cordelia nodded in agreement.

“Ah... If only Morgan had confessed his feelings to you earlier, I might have a nephew by now.” Imogen looked regretful.

Cordelia panicked. “Imogen, please don't say things like that. Morgan is so talented and exceptional. How could he possibly be interested in me?"

Imogen's brother, Morgan Lopez, started his art exhibition abroad at the age of eleven. He was such a remarkable person. Cordelia didn’t think Imogen would be interested in her.

Imogen knew she didn’t believe it, and it had been so many years since then, so she didn't bring it up again.

“What about Ben? Do you have unresolved feelings?” Cordelia asked again.

“Him? He's probably trying to annoy Elissa by bothering me. These guys are heartless. They can say all the right things in bed, but once their pants are back on, they're not the same...”

Seeing Imogen looked somewhat disheartened, Cordelia didn’t press further.

After spending some time with Imogen, Cordelia received a phone call. “Where are you?” Elijjah’s voice was low and icy.

“I'm with Imogen.”

There was a few seconds of silence from Elijah. Then, his tone suddenly took on a hint of anger. “Are you teaming up with my mother to play tricks on me? Get back to the Hansen Manor right now!"

Cordelia frowned, looking puzzled.

Ignoring his anger, Cordelia hung up the phone directly.

Imogen observed Cordelia’s expression cautiously and asked, “Cordelia, don't you feel your husband likes you?”

Cordelia blinked, looking dazed. She asked Imogen, “Are you feverish?” “Well, you can treat it as me saying nonsense due to a fever. But I heard from Ben that even when Elissa had half her clothes off, Elijah didn't spare her a glance. Do you know what he said?”

Cordelia shook her head, growing curious.

Imogen cleared her throat. “My wife can make me react with just a glance without making a sound or move. You'd better get dressed quickly!”
