I walked down the hallways, following the signs on the wall to find the library. Of course, it would have the biggest doors besides the cafeteria’s. Walking through many bookshelves, I reached a service desk. Luckily, there was no one waiting in line.

“Hello. How may I help you today?” The lady at the desk asked, looking up at me from her paper work.

“Yes. I need help looking for the Codex. I need to look up a prophecy, since I am doing private research on them.” I replied, a line starting to grow behind me. I hated crowds.

“Yes, of course. Follow me, I will lead you to the All-Powerful Codex.”

She got up from her desk and walked to the bookshelves to the left, going through them for about four aisles, then to the left eight, and the right two. It sat on a fancy pedestal, power flowing out of it’s pages.

“I am going to stand here, just in case the power overflow happens.” The library lady spoke, turning around.

“Ok, that’s fine with me.” I replied, going up slowly to it.

I looked at the darkened leather infused with gold. Flipping the cover open, I saw different sections. One that stood out was the one I needed; Prophecies. Touching the word, the Codex flipped its pages to the first page of the section. Of course it was the one most likely about me.

It showed my face at the bottom of the page, the prophecy above it. This probably meant that it was in motion, and that it was to be fulfilled. The words were in a cursive-like writing, but I could translate it. The ink was purple and it looked like arcane purple. It read:

One of Darkness that isn’t like the rest

will lead a country and facility into unrest

Take thee to the place of Far Beyond,

leaving no trace of where thee had gone.

One of Light will try to believe that this is her fight,

her last breath before thee Chosen One read this writing.

War will consume the land, leaving the survivors to fend off the creatures

Take no warning, for this person will bring peace.

The war will end in a mighty feat;

A place Heroes and mighty warriors have fallen,

this is where the resurrection shall take place for thee

I couldn’t believe it, all this time that Amanda wanted to be the one that caused unrest and a war. This was upon my shoulders, and I can’t be the one to do this myself. I was the one that killed Amanda, who believed that this was her fight. Why did she really want to be in this prophecy?
