As Sylvie’s feet planted on the dark carpet in Elias’s office, she sagged between her two mates, her head feeling too heavy on her neck.

The darkened sky outside created a magical jetlag that messed with her mind.

“What day is it?

Kian pulled Sylvie close as Elias crossed the room and tapped his computer mouse.

“Wednesday night.”

“That’s so weird,” Sylvie mumbled, closing her eyes. “I know we just woke up, but I feel like I haven’t slept in days.”

Kian hummed and scooped her up, carrying her across the room, but Elias stopped him with a low voice, “Mm-mm. Her bedroom is the one on the right.”

The direction of her swaying changed as Kian turned. “So this is where you stayed while I was in Evergreen?”

Sylvie’s eyes blinked tiredly, seeing they stood in the doorway of her room. “Yep. Elias set it up for me.”

“I like the snake plant.”

A soft chuckle escaped her nose as she remembered asking for it from Elias’ arms. The experience felt so long ago, even if they were technically only gone for a few days, earth time.

“Me too,” she mumbled, sighing softly as her crisp sheets crinkled under her back. “You two will be close, right?” Then, rolling on her side, she peeled her lids open to see Kian kneeling at her bedside.

“You won’t leave me here by myself, right?”

“No, Princess. Elias and I will be just in his office.”

“What are you-” A yawn cut into her sentence, and she smiled at Kian’s smitten look. “I was trying to say, what are you gonna do now?”

Kian shuffled closer, resting his chin on one fist and stroking her cheek with the other hand. “Well, Elias and I need to find a better place for us to live, for starters.”

Sylvie almost jumped up with a pout, but Kian’s hand on her face stopped her movement. “You’re gonna choose without me?”

A dark shadow crossed her bedroom door as Elias appeared, leaning in the doorway. God, that man knew how to lean in the sexiest way possible.

“We’ll find three options, and you can pick which one you like most. Does that sound fair?”

Her heart fluttered as he stared down at her. “Yes. Thank you. Can they all be out of the city, though? I want to be close to nature.” She turned to smile at Kian. “After seeing your home, I never want to be trapped in this treeless city again.”

“I think we can manage that,” Kian agreed before standing and walking to the door.

“Rest up, kitten. You still work for me, remember? Shift starts at eight.”

With a devilish smirk, Kian and Elias disappeared back towards their office as Sylvie stifled her giggles. “What a big bully,” she whispered, rolling on her back. The checkered ceiling stared back at her, the uniformity forcing her tired lids to shut.

So boring.

While sleep pulled at her consciousness, she fantasised about what her future home might look like.

Would it be a modern, single-level house with flashy renovations and zero character? Perhaps a large ranch style, with rolling paddocks and wild horses like she’d watch on TV as a child.

She’d be happy in Elias’ modest wood cabin, but after the shifter attack, that seemed unlikely.

The fact she got to choose made her body tingle with excitement. After a small squeal past her lips, Elias appeared at her side dizzyingly fast with a furrowed brow.

“What is it?”

Slapping her hands over her lips, she shook her head. “Sorry... It was nothing.”

He narrowed his eyes and lowered his forehead just inches from hers so he could stare right into her eyes.

“Are you lying to me, Miss Hart?”

“No, sir,” she whispered with a reluctant grin. “Can you tuck me in while you’re here?”

He hummed gruffly, almost a growl, and he ripped the blanket from beneath her like she was dishware and he was performing the tablecloth trick. A giggle bubbled from her lips as he pulled the blankets over her and tucked them around her wriggling body.

“Now go to sleep.”

She pouted. “No kiss?”

“Sylvie, if I start kissing you, I won’t be able to stop.”

“Just one,” she moaned, tilting her mouth up to him and pursing her lips.

This time he did growl and meet his lips with hers for a hard, lip-bruising kiss. Pulling back seemed to pain him, and she couldn’t reach up to pull him back because of his immaculate tucking in. Her hands stayed pinned at her sides, and Elias flitted from the room as if he was never there.

“Night!” she called after him.

The morning came quickly once her racing mind finally shut up, and she rolled out of bed, dressing in one of her new blouses and tailored pants. Slipping her feet into a pair of strappy sandals, she wandered to the hall and peered into Elias’ office.

Hair thoroughly mussed, shirt sexily unbuttoned to mid-chest, and sleeves rolled to the elbows, Elias flickered his eyes up to hers and nodded.

“Good morning.”

She bit her lip and nodded back with a barely restrained grin. “Good morning.”

Warm arms wrapped around her middle, and she tilted her head to see a smiling Kian. “Morning.”

He kissed her lips, and she squeezed his arms, still holding her as they pulled apart. “Morning, husband.”

Kian hardened against her, and she pushed her ass harder into his crotch.

“Oh, you know how to get under my skin, Princess. Now is not the time to tease.”

“No, it isn’t,” Elias agreed. “You start work in thirty minutes.”

She looked between them both with mock sincerity. “Whatever could you mean? I was saying good morning to my husband. How on earth could that be considered a tease.”

Elias’ eyes darkened, and Sylvie jumped closer to Kian for protection.

“Don’t think running to Kian will save you, kitten. He may not punish you, but I can assure you, he enjoys it when I do.”

Gulping, Sylvie clasped her hands and took a steady breath. She certainly didn’t need a sore, spanked ass before an eight-hour shift. “Forgive me,” she whispered, nibbling on her bottom lip.

Kian sighed behind her as Elias’ jaw clenched.

“What?” she asked, wide-eyed. She spun, gripping Kian’s hands, trying to maintain composure despite her growing flush. “Did you choose the houses yet?”

She prayed the change in the topic would distract her mates from her inevitable sexual encounter. Any time but right before work when she would have to deal with Natalie and whoever else bothered her. The thought of reeking of sex made her stomach flip.

“I was hoping I could see your choices,” she panted, squeezing his hands.

Kian chuckled softly and pulled her to Elias’ desk before letting her stand alone. He gestured to Elias, who rolled back slightly in his office chair and inclined his head towards his computer monitor.

Fuck, were they tag-teaming her or something? This felt like a setup. She swallowed and rounded the desk before standing next to Elias. He quickly pulled her onto his lap and rolled them back to the computer, one hand moving to his mouse and one to her... kitty.

“Take a look,” he purred in her ear. His long fingers trailed up and down the seam of her pants, the friction generating heat.

Two homes were modern, one looking more like an architectural marvel, but neither held the appeal of the third. The single-story, white, modern Farmhouse drew her eye immediately. Each window had brown shutters framing them, with hanging plants dangling beneath a wrap-around veranda. A forest backed the property, their ancient appeal calling her dryad heritage. The garden, though, my god, the-

“Elias.”

“Yes?” His traitorous touch made her core throb, and she prayed her wettening pussy wouldn’t stain the pants.

“I want this one.”

“I thought you might,” he replied, pulling a phone from his pocket and putting it to his ear, the stroking from his two fingers continuing.

Sylvie arched to stand, but the pressure kept her steady.

“Yes. It’s Fletcher. We’ll take the Farmhouse. Yes. Price is no issue. No.”

Sylvie stared at Kian with pleading eyes, but he only smirked and shook his head. She frowned and bit her lip to stop the moan threatening to escape as Elias continued his stupidly slow teasing over her pants.

“Call me when it’s done. Goodbye.”

Sylvie couldn’t let herself bask in the excitement of choosing the new home she would share with her mates because of Elias’ pleasurable touch.

“I need to start work now,” she whimpered, leaning back into Elias’ chest. His rumble vibrated against her, forcing her body to tense, desire wrapping around her.

“Yes. You do. Natalie will be here any minute, and I suggest you start with your emails.”

With that, the contact on her clit disappeared, and she immediately regretted her insistence on him stopping. Now she was craving him desperately.

She realised with chagrin that that must have been his plan all along. His warped punishment in denying her orgasm. Now her mind would be muddled all day—damn bastard.

“I’ll find you some breakfast, Princess,” Kian offered, appearing at her side and pulling her off Elias.

Her shaky legs stepped away, and she refused to look back at her stupid Vampire. She couldn’t give him the satisfaction or the win.

“Thank you, husband,” she said breathily, hoping her attempt to be petty would rile up the intended recipient. The low hiss as she left the room seemed to prove it worked. She snickered softly as Kian guided her to her office and kissed her lips.

“You’re playing with fire, Princess.”

She smirked up at him. “But I won’t get burned.”

He winked and spun, heading to the elevator. She watched after him until Natalie appeared and darted to her computer.

“Don’t come in. Go to your desk. Don’t come in.”

“Sylvie! Where were you?”

Fuck. “Hi!”
