Selena’s P.O.V

I woke up feeling so comfortable. I knew this wasn’t my bed because it smelt really manly and I don’t recall changing my room. I looked around and remembered last night. I threw myself back on the pillows with embarrassment. For crying out loud the guy has a girlfriend.

I felt so stupid. I kicked the covers off me and closed my eyes.

“Oh you’re up” I opened my eyes to see Adam standing near the bed. His eyes were looking at something else. I followed them and saw that his shirt had ridden up to my hips. I quickly covered my self and cleared my throat catching his attention.

“Do you feel better” I nodded my head and looked anywhere but him my eyes fell on his clock.

“ITS 10 O’CLOCK I MISSED SCHOOL WHY DIDN’T YOU WAKE ME UP” I jumped out of the bed and tried to run out of his window. I can’t believe I missed school.

Before I even made it to the window I felt Adam lift me up and carry me back. I struggled against him.

“Adam put me down. I need to go to school...let..me..go”

“Not letting you go” He threw me on his bed and hovered above me.

“You are sick, so you aren’t going school”

“Bu-” Adam shut me up by putting his finger on my lips.

“Not point arguing because your not winning this one” I nodded my head at him and I couldn’t break eye contact with him.

It was just something about him that made me not want to look away. Before any of us could say anything his phone started to ring. He looked pissed when he saw his phone.

After he left the room I closed my eyes and let sleep take over me.

Right now I was in my own house. After I had woken up Adam wasn’t anywhere to be seen in the house so I went home.

I changed my clothes and walked downstairs to sit next to Ben. I leaned my head against his arm.

“You still feeling ill” I nodded my head.

“Here have some” Ben handed me a cup of hot chocolate and I smiled at him because he knew how much I loved it.

“Thank you”

We both were watching TV when John came down the stairs dressed all nice.

“Man where are you going dressed nice, is it a funeral” Ben sniggered and I lightly hit him from the side.

“Shut the fuck up unless you want me to break your face”

“Okay cut it out boys”

“Sooooo John where are you going dressed all nice” I winked at him and I could see the slight pink on his cheeks.

“Awww is the wittle boy blushing” Ben went to squeeze his cheeks and John slapped his hand away.

“The fuck man”

“I have a date” Me and Ben both looked at each other with smirks.

“Awww he’s growing up already my Johnny poo” I squeezed his cheeks while Ben started to laugh loudly.

He pushed my hands away and raised an eyebrow at me.

“Thought you were sick”

“Ah ah don’t change the subject here. Tell us who the lucky girl is”

“Yeah who is the unlucky girl” Ben sniggered and I smacked him.

“Anyways please who is she”

“Well the other day I was walking by and I saw some guy harass her and she was shouting for help. So I beat the guy up. One thing led to another and here we are”

I had huge smile on my fave. John rarely went out on a date he just brought the girls home like the rest of the boys.

“Awww John that’s so sweet. Good luck for tonight” I hugged him and moved back quick because I didn’t want to get him sick.

“Well let’s hope you get some tonight” Both of them laughed making me feel sick.

“You guys are disgusting” I rolled my eyes at them and went to my room to rest.

I had taken a few days of school because I got sick and I spread it to the boys too. So we were all sick.

Today was Friday and I was feeling much better but I couldn’t say the same for my brothers.

“You...are responsible for all this” Blake had the cute sick voice.

“Awww I’m sorry well atleast on the bright side you guys sound cute” Blake scowled at me and put his head on the kitchen counter . They argued how they didn’t sound cute. Boys.

“ACHOOO”

“AAAAAH” Ben’s sneeze scared us all but it made Josh scream like a girl. I started to laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes.

“Its not funny” Josh gave me a dirty look and turned away.

Ben walked towards me and I was slightly scared since he had a creepy smile on his face.

I moved back because I knew my brother and that smile meant he was up to something.

“Umm..what are you doing” he gave me an evil grin and held out his arms.

“Give your big brother a hug” He sneezed loudly and I ran.

“Not in this lifetime” I ran and Ben grabbed me from the back.

“Ben noooooooo...I just started to feel better” I bit his arm and made a run for the door.

I grabbed my bag and headed for school.

I walked to school and I dressed warm since I was still a bit sick and I wanted to feel comfortable. I made it in time for the bell for my first lesson.

I was surprised when I was alone in all my lessons. Literally none of the boys or Giselle were to be seen. Ignoring that I carried on with my work. At lunch I was losing my energy to walk so I was dragging myself to the cafeteria.

I walked in to see everyone at the table. I went and sat next to Ash and Jade.

“Hey guys” I dropped my bag on the table and leaned my head on Ash who put his arm around.

“You still feeling ill”

“Not as much but I’m better” He nodded his head and carried on talking to the guys about their game.

“You guys I’m so frickin excited for the competition we are so beating their asses” I laughed but it turned into a cough and everyone stared at me.

I grabbed Ash’s drink and literally downed it so quick that it was down my neck and top. Everyone started to laugh at me but one person didn’t seem to find it funny.

I looked at Adam and he had a weird look on his face. His eyes were on my neck I quickly wiped my neck and gave him a dirty look.

“Take a picture Adam it will last longer” I smirked at him.

“Don’t think I want to, my phone will probably crack” He gave me a grin and it annoyed the hell out of me.

I threw Jade’s fries at him which he caught with his mouth.

“I hate you”

“No you don’t”

“Yes I do” I slammed my hands on the table and leaned closer to him since he was across the table.

“Oh no you dont” he came close to my face and my face started to heat up because I remembered what happend the other day.

“Yes. I do”

“Well your red cheeks are telling me a diffrent story” we both stared at each other with a challenging stare.

“If you two are done with your gross ass flirting it’s time to go to lesson” Ash pulled me away and I blushed looking down.

“Eww he wishes I flirted with him” Adam raised an eyebrow at me while putting on his jacket.

“Well ya can’t flirt with him Lena your mine” Ash lifted me on his shoulder and ran. I screamed as we left the cafeteria but I didn’t miss the pissed look on Adam’s face.

The last few lessons were a blur because all we did was laugh and talk about the competition.

On the way home I walked it with Giselle. Who currently was explaining to me why she wasn’t in class in the morning.

“So one of Xavier’s friends who was helping him keep our area safe was attacked last night by the demons. So by the looks of it he might not make it”

“This is all my fault. People are getting hurt because of me.”

“No it isn’t. Don’t blame yourself” Giselle smiled at me but I couldn’t smile back this was not fair whatever was happening sucked and I hated it.

I walked into Giselle’s house and followed her up to the room where they had kept Xavier’s friend.

When I walked into the room I felt like someone had thrown a bucket of cold water on me. Reality hit me like a truck.

What I saw before me was Adam hugging Regina from the back. Regina looked at me with a smug look on her face and I tried to shake it off as I looked as Xavier’s friend on the bed.

“Is he going to be ok” Giselle walked towards the bed while I stayed glued in my spot.

“Yeah he should be. I did everything I could and it’s drained all my energy” She leaned head further on to Adam. He didn’t even bother giving me a second look.

Someone from behind me pushed me forward but quickly grabbed me so I don’t fall on my face.

“Oh sorry” I turned to see Xavier.

“Umm...its fine” I moved aside and let him go near his friend.

Everyone started to talk amongst themselves and I felt kind of out of place so I left.

Being in that room reminded me that even though I’m a wizard. I’ll never be like them.

I threw my stuff on my bed and changed into something more comfortable.

I was sitting on my rooftop/balcony just staring at the stars. Honestly I feel like sometimes we don’t appreciate the beauty of the universe. The stars reminding us that even in a pitch black night there is always light.

Which signified hope. I really don’t want to let anyone down. I want to lift this curse and help people but all of it is so scary.

“What are we looking at” I jumped at the sound of Xavier’s voice.

“You scared me” I had a hand on my heart which was beating pretty fast

While Xavier had a grin on his face.

“I’m sorry”

“Its fine” I smiled at him and carried on looking at the stars.

“No I meant for what happend the other day. I shouldn’t have left you hanging like that”

“Xavier it’s fine. I was pretty upset at first but then I let it go. But please next time don’t hit anyone because of me. It’s really not worth”

“If someone disrepects you in my presence I can’t promise that they will go unharmed. And don’t ever say your not worth it” Xavier was looking at me with a intense gaze and I found myself getting lost in his eyes. They were such a beautiful colour.

They looked like a cool calming colour but at the same time they were so intense and full of emotion that you’d get lost.

“Move over before I fall” I broke eye contact laughing and scooted over so he could sit. He moved really close to me that I could feel his body heat warning me up.

“Xavier. I’m scared.” I turned to him and he looked at me. I felt stupid for saying that but I feel like he would understand me.

“Why ?.”

“I don’t know. Everyone is counting on me. Your friend got hurt because of me. I’m being put into a world I have no idea about. My brothers want to move back there but I don’t. All of this is too much”

I put my head down because I felt stupid. I felt Xavier put his arm around me.

“Why do you keep blaming yourself. It’s not your fault if someone got hurt. As much as it’s your battle it’s our too. I understand that your reality is different to ours but you shouldn’t put something off because your scared. If you don’t like our world you can always come back here”

We didn’t talk much after that. I put my head on his shoulder because I was starting to feel tired. I didn’t want to sleep but I knew that I’d be safe because Xavier was here.

“Don’t sleep on me” I heard Xavier talk with amusement in his tone.

“Can’t promise” I closed my eyes and Xavier pulled me closer.
