Chapter 419 We’ll See About That

Casey responded calmly. “Shouldn’t you ask Ms. Shenton about this before taking any action.

against me?”

Evan retorted, “I can hit you, and I don’t need Caroline’s approval!”

“Alright, we’ll see about that.”

Casey hung up.

Evan clenched his phone tightly, his demeanor turning cold and fierce.

Even though he opposed Caroline, he wouldn’t allow anything to happen to her at Casey’s hands.

Caroline stood up, stepped out of the hall, and intended to ask a waiter about the restroom’s

location when someone suddenly grabbed her wrist. They pulled her into a private room while

she was still dazed

Startled, she gazed up to see Evan’s furious face as the door closed behind her. She quickly pulled.

her hand away and frowned. “Evan, do you have no respect for others?”

“Tell me! What’s going on between you and Casey?!” Evan’s eyes bore into her with intensity.

Caroline remained composed. “Why should I divulge the details of my relationship with Casey to

you?‘

“Caroline, he’s even more dangerous than you realize!” Evan controlled his anger.

Caroline chuckled. “Why are you telling me this? Are you afraid Casey might harm me?”

Evan narrowed his eyes. “I just wanted to remind you of how dangerous he can be-”

Caroline cut in, “I don’t need that! Please stop meddling in my affairs with others, especially since you

don’t care whether I live or die.”

“Do you insist on staying in contact with Casey?”

“Yes, and please stop being so nosy!” Caroline said firmly.

Evan couldn’t believe his ears, and his suppressed anger surged within him. He stared at

Caroline’s determined expression and mocked, “It seems like you’ve developed quite an affinity for

him in such a short time.”

Caroline sneered. “Can’t men and women just be friends?”

Evan’s eyes grew colder. “Well, you’re the first one who wants to befriend someone like Casey.”

Caroline countered. “You really need to get a pair of glasses. Don’t always believe everything your

eyes see!*

After that, she turned and left the private room.

Evan followed, his frustration increasing.

He wondered what he could say to dissuade Caroline from staying in contact with Casey.

He was willing to endure her dating someone else, even if it pained him. But Casey was absolutely

out of the question.

Alex noticed Kenny’s increasing drunkenness and glanced at Paige, who was reclining on the sofa.

He remarked, “I think we should call it quits. There’s no point in drinking like this.”

Kenny scowled. “Stop? We haven’t even had our fill!”

Alex replied, “If we don’t stop, we won’t be able to play games or have a decent conversation. It’s

monotonous to just keep drinking”

Kenny blinked, baffled. “What do you want to talk about?”

“You’re always dishonest. I’d rather not converse with you “With that, Alex got up.

“Hey, you haven’t explained. Why do you think I’m dishonest?” Kenny stopped Alex.

Kenny was too drunk to understand what Alex meant. But he hadn’t had his fill of wine yet-

quitting now was unexciting.

Seeing this, Alex sat back. “I’m curious why Neil agreed to let Caroline’s children take her

sumame.”

Kenny dismissed it. “It’s not a big deal. They can have whatever last name they want.”
