Caroline enjoyed taking the children on many rides at the amusement park.

Afterward, they stood in line for the Ferris wheel

When Axel glanced up at the towering Ferris wheel, standing at a staggering two hundred meters, he

turned pale. His fear of heights prevented him from daring to join the ride. Even just the sight of it made

him struggle to catch his breath.

Tyler immediately noticed something amiss with Axel and asked, “Axel, are you feeling unwell?”

Attempting to act strong. Axel shook his head. “I’m okay-”

But before he could finish his sentence, he clutched his stomach and vomited.

Caroline and Jamie swiftly turned their heads at the commotion.

Upon seeing Axel’s distress, fear gripped Caroline. She hurried over and embraced him.

“Axel?” Caroline asked anxiously. “What’s wrong with you?

Feeling lightheaded, Axel weakly replied, “It’s the heights

“The heights?” Liora raised her head to gaze at the spinning Ferris wheel above.

“Oh! Mommy, he’s afraid of heights!”

Caroline asked Axel, “Are you really scared of heights?”

Axel hung his head. “Yes…”

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Caroline patted his back sympathetically.

Axel pursed his lips tightly and mumbled, ‘I didn’t want to spoil the fun for everyone.”

Caroline lifted him gently and consoled him. “It’s okay. It’s just a ride. We can skip this one.”

Axel’s eyes lit up. “Mommy, will you be upset?”

“No, not at all!” Caroline reassured him. “Lia can go on the ride with Jamie and Ty. I’ll stay here. with

you

Liora chimed in. I don’t want to go if Axel’s not going.

“I’m not really interested either. I’ll stay with Axel, Tyler said.

This left Caroline in a dilemma, thinking, I can’t just let Jamie go up alone, can I?‘

But Jamie tugged at Caroline’s clothes ‘Stay with the kids. I’ll ride it alone.”

She was curious about why this ride felt so special to Jamie and who she intended to ride it with.

However, Caroline declined Jamie’s suggestion firmly. “No, Jamie. You can’t go alone. Ill worry too

much. Wait here. I’ll find a park employee to watch over the kids so I can ride it with you.”

“No” Jamie rejected Caroline’s plan emphatically. “We can’t trust someone else with the kids. It’s risky,

and they might get taken.”

Caroline couldn’t quite understand Jamie’s logic, as she believed the park employee wouldn’t harm the

children.

Helplessly, Caroline tried to persuade Jamie. “Can we please skip this ride, Jamie? I’m anxious about

you going alone.”

“No! I really want to go!” Jamie remained resolute. “Carol, stop, or I’ll get upset. Just do what I said.

Stay here with the kids I’ll go alone, and you can all wait here with some ice cream.”

Caroline failed to dissuade Jamie and had no choice but to come up with an alternative.

She held the children’s hands and approached a park employee, asking, “Excuse me, can you ride with

my mother?”

The worker replied, “I’m quite busy, and I’ll lose part of my salary if I go on the ride during my shift.”

Caroline was in an awkward situation. Would she have to let Jamie ride alone?

Liora tugged at Caroline’s hand, looking up at her. “Mommy, you have to trust that Grandma can handle

it on her own. She hasn’t been sick lately. You made her take her pill before we came, right?”

Caroline crouched down. “Lia, it’s not that. We can’t let her ride alone. How about this? Wait for me in

the shop. I’ll return after riding with her, okay?”

Tyler interrupted, “But Mommy, Grandma’s already in one of the pods.”

Startled, Caroline turned and saw Jamie sitting in a pod, slowly ascending into the air. Jamie even

waved at them.
