Chapter 231 I Want to Be With a Woman

“Ms. Shenton, you.” The doctor heaved a deep sigh. “Mr. Jordan is very concerned about Ms. Smith,

but you condemned him so. Of course, anyone would feel heartbroken because of that.”

When the doctor noticed Caroline’s distressed expression, he explained, “Ms. Smith’s case is quite

unusual. The surgery is easy for any surgeon. Therefore, her situation shouldn’t have turned out

like this.”

Caroline took a deep breath and said, “Is it because of her psychological factor?”

The doctor frowned. “It’s very unlikely.”

Caroline nodded in frustration “Okay, but I still insist on the conservative treatment.”

The doctor turned to leave since he had failed to persuade her.

Caroline walked into Lily’s ward. When she saw the latter’s pale face, she hesitated briefly.

At last, she decided to call Scott.

After a while, Scott picked it up.

Caroline walked to the lounge and said, “Scott, were you the one who performed Lily’s surgery?”

“I was the assistant instead of the main surgeon,” Scott answered directly. “Did something. happen?”

Upon hearing that, Caroline was instantly relieved,

“The foreign doctor at the Grand East Hospital suggested performing another brain surgery for Lily,

Evan averted his gaze and called Alex.

It rang for a long while, but Alex did not pick it up. When Evan was about to hang up, Alex

answered the call.

The noise from the phone made Evan frown. “Where are you?”

Alex answered, “The bar! What can I do for you?”

“Come out and have a drink with me,” Evan said unhappily.

“No, I don’t want to!” Alex refused. “I want to be with a woman!”

After that, he hung up the call.

Evan was stunned. He wondered if he had misheard Alex.
