Chapter 689 Get Lost

Stephanie was drinking champagne. Because of Paul's reappearance, she felt a little unenthusiastic about everything that day. However, she didn't refuse when someone approached her for a conversation. After all, she couldn't afford to offend anyone who attended the banquet, so she drank the wine the other party offered. But soon, she realized that something was wrong with it. She had only taken a few sips and already felt a bit unstable on her feet.

"Miss, are you drunk? Let me take you upstairs to rest." A young man from one of the rich families approached and held Stephanie by her arm, leading her out of the banquet hall.

Stephanie was feeling groggy at that moment, and she didn't even know who the person next to her was.

"No...I don't want to go..." she murmured softly, but the young man didn't care. He came to the banquet today to find prey and had been eyeing Stephanie for a long time. She was beautiful and didn't come from one of the prominent families, which made her the perfect target.

After talking to Isabelle and Julian, Jenny intended to leave the banquet with Stephanie, as this event had nothing to do with her. However, she didn't see Stephanie anywhere after looking all over the banquet hall. Feeling puzzled, she tried calling Stephanie. Her phone rang for a long time, but nobody answered the call. Jenny started to worry.

Could something have happened to her?

Praying that Stephanie was safe, Jenny looked everywhere for her friend in the hall. Despite her efforts, Stephanie was nowhere to be found. At first, Jenny didn't think much of it, but now she was seriously concerned. If anything happened to Stephanie, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself. With that thought in mind, Jenny didn't hesitate and went directly to the hotel's surveillance room.

Upstairs, the young man supported Stephanie and led her into a room. Then, he threw her onto the big bed. He looked at Stephanie's shapely figure and licked his lips.

"What a beautiful woman." He was getting impatient and started taking off his clothes quickly, as he couldn't wait to get a taste of such a gorgeous woman.

However, someone kicked the room door open before he could take off anything else.

"Who the hell are you? How dare you interrupt me from having a good time!" Seeing someone entering, the young man frowned and looked displeased.

Paul saw the man, who was topless by then, and then Stephanie, lying on the bed. His expression turned livid. "Get lost!"

"Who do you think you are telling to get lost?" The young man started to take out his phone to call for help. He didn't recognize Paul and naturally didn't think he was anyone important. However, before he could make the call, Paul gave him a hard kick, sending him flying.

Paul didn't hold back at all. With one kick, the young man passed out right away.

Paul walked to the bedside and saw that Stephanie was still unconscious. He felt angry and distressed at the same time.

"Aren't you supposed to be capable? How did you get drugged so easily? If you don't want anything to do with me, then protect yourself, and don't give me a chance." Paul mumbled to himself, but his gaze lingered on Stephanie's face, reluctant to look away.

Not long after that, Jenny arrived with people in tow.

She noticed Stephanie being drugged and taken away through the surveillance footage. She rushed over as fast as she could. However, she didn't expect to find Paul in the room as well.

Seeing the shirtless young man unconscious in the corner, she could roughly guess what had happened. For the first time, she felt grateful that Paul had arrived in time.

"Thank you," Jenny said. No matter what, she had to thank him for saving Stephanie this time.

Upon hearing Jenny's voice, Paul turned to stare at her with a dangerous expression. "Who do you think you are to thank me for saving her?"
