By the time Jenny saw James, he'd been staying at home for one whole day without going out or eating anything, so he looked particularly disheveled. Jenny felt bad seeing him like that. "James, are you alright?"

He smiled at her and sat on the sofa with a vacant look in his eyes. "I guess so. I couldn't accept it at first. But as time passes, it's not that hard to stomach now."

"Jenny, won't you consider giving me a chance?" James asked.

If Jenny were willing to give him a chance, even if it meant falling out with the entire Walter family, he wouldn't marry Jolene.

Jenny looked guilty as she replied, "In my heart, you're like family to me."

Once she said this, James understood what she meant. He wanted to smile but failed to do so.

"I'll take care of things with the Walters and make sure nobody pressures you. Our families' collaboration won't be affected either." Jenny thought that resolving these issues would suffice, and James would only need to convince his family, which shouldn't be a problem.

However, James shook his head at that. "Since I can't marry you, it doesn't matter whom I marry."

"James..."

"Jenny, I know you're doing this for my sake, but please don't get involved. I'll take care of it myself." James interrupted her, having already made his decision.

Since Jolene wanted to marry him so badly, he would grant her wish. "Fine, then. Let's see how long she can last in my hands," James thought bitterly.

After Jenny came out of James' villa, she stood at the door for a long time and didn't leave. At that moment, she was in a very bad mood.

Jenny nodded in response and looked at Alec. "Have the two of them moved in together already? They're progressing quite fast," she remarked internally.

Maybe it was because nothing was going smoothly for Jenny recently, she felt annoyed when she saw the two of them together.

"Are you here to see Mr. Windsor, Miss Walter?" Blake asked deliberately. She obviously knew that James lived next door.

Jenny nodded and replied curtly, "Yes."

She didn't feel like talking to the two of them. After a simple greeting, she turned and left.

Alec watched her back as she left. He could feel that Jenny was in a bad mood. He had been in a good mood earlier, but it quickly soured when he saw how gloomy Jenny was.
