Graham really didn't know how Alec could be so confident about it, but he didn't pursue things further. What happened to Alec was none of his business. All he had to do was persuade Jenny not to continue being with him lest she get in trouble.

"You've done so much for me already." Alec knew very well that Jenny's suggestion to her father had been for his sake.
