Jenny walked to the corner, and Jolene silently followed her.

"Jenny, I hate you." Jolene suddenly blurted out, startling Jenny, who was drinking juice.

Jenny looked at her and said calmly, "It's okay if you hate me."

Jenny sighed, feeling like a villain in a drama for taking away Jolene's father's love the moment she returned to Bardoff city. She understood why Jolene felt upset but didn't think she did anything wrong. Jolene had enjoyed her father's love for over 20 years, but what about Jenny? She had only been back for a few days. Was it wrong that she was receiving a little of that?

"Jolene, I don't want to have any conflict with you. As long as you don't trouble me, I won't bother you either," Jenny warned her.

Feeling more confident, she added, "Isn't he your ex- husband? I heard it took a great amount of effort for you to divorce him, so why are you keeping him around? If this gets out, what will other people think of you?"

Jenny glanced at her,no.velxo knowing Jolene had already investigated Alec's identity. "Do I need to care what others think of me?"

"Don't you care?" Jolene seemed to find it amusing. "Arent you afraid you won't get married? Or you won't be able to marry into a good family?"

If Jenny had never been divorced, she would be the most popular bachelorette in Bardoff City today, and many people would try to pursue her. However, since she was divorced, no one from the big families would marry her for the sake of their reputation. Perhaps someone from a second-class family would marry her. After all, she was still the eldest daughter of the Walter family.

Jenny chuckled, finding Jolene's concern about marrying into a good family ridiculous. "Only someone like you would care whether they can marry into a good family. I'm different from you." Why would Jenny worry when she could rely on herself?

Jolene was upset by her comment. "Don't act so noble. There's no way you really don't care."
