Mila had returned to the Morrison Residence to recuperate.

She didn't stay in the master bedroom where Nathan was currently sleeping. She stayed alone in the guest room under the pretext of needing rest.

She even arranged for the maternity nurse to stay in the room with her. She did this because she wanted to keep Nathan away.

She even had all her meals in the room.

Apart from resting, she mostly stayed indoors reading and studying, rarely venturing out of her room.

Occasionally, when she did leave her room, it was just to take a stroll in the backyard.

Nathan was busy with work. Every time he tried to make time to see her, she deliberately avoided him.

She didn't want to meet him, especially not with Fenna around.

That afternoon, with Phoebe by her side, Mila visited the neonatal ward to see her son.

Her son had grown healthier and was slowly gaining weight, visibly becoming stronger with each passing day.

However, his cardiac and pulmonary functions weren't strong enough, so the doctor advised another month's stay in the neonatal department.

Because there were better facilities and professional medical staff here, it was better for the growth of newborns.

Mila followed the doctor's advice. She visited her son again before leaving the hospital with Phoebe.

Phoebe drove carefully through the bustling streets as she watched the road cautiously.

Mila took out her phone and then lowered her head to continue studying the data.

Glancing at Mila's serious demeanor, Phoebe asked, "Mila, when do you plan to return to the military base?"

Mila replied calmly, "I'm not going back."

Phoebe was puzzled as she asked, "What? Are you resigning?"

Mila calmly explained, "I've applied to establish a research institute in Phoenicia. My projects will progress there, and if necessary, I'll travel to the frontiers for a few days. "Once the work there is done, I'll return to Phoenicia."

Phoebe stole a glance at Mila. Phoebe felt like Mila had changed since giving birth and became somewhat unfamiliar even to her.

"Mila, are we going back to Morrison Residence now?"

Mila raised her head to look at the road conditions before glancing at the rear-view mirror. She focused on the vehicle in the mirror and asked, "Is there a car following us?" Phoebe replied, "It's one of Mr. Morrison's people. They've been quietly following us every time we go out."

Mila sternly instructed, "Shake them off."

Phoebe was taken aback.

Mila commanded, "Go to Dreamshift Beauty Salon."

Phoebe felt nervous because it was where Fenna had been kidnapped before. It was puzzling why she would want to shake off Nathan's people and go to such a dangerous place. "Mila, why are we going to Dreamshift Beauty Salon?"

Mila responded, "To find someone."

Phoebe was curious, so she asked, "Who are we looking for?"

Mila remained silent.

Phoebe decided not to ask further. She immediately stepped on the accelerator to maneuver past the cars with a drift-like motion.

She sped up to shake off the car behind them.

An hour later, Phoebe finally shook off the car behind them and arrived at the parking lot of Dreamshift Beauty Salon.

Mila got out of the car, carrying a pre-prepared tablet with her.

Phoebe locked the car and followed her closely.

They made their way from the parking lot to the back entrance. They stood outside the security monitoring room of the building. Phoebe became increasingly curious. She quietly looked at Mila.

Mila remained composed as her gaze was cold.

She found a corner to hide in and crouched down. She took out her tablet and placed it on her lap.
