Summary
Mackenzie Flynn is an average seventeen-year-old whose life turns upside-down when an ancient, grouchy, and slightly sexist Merlin the Magician shows up at her school, in Bermuda shorts and Birkenstock sandals, and explains to Mackenzie that she is the latest in a long line of reincarnated King Arthurs. The message goes over as one would expect, until a stunning witch in runway attire arrives and attempts to kill Kenzie and her best friend and platonic life partner Jordan Lin.
On the run from the forces of the sorceress Morgan Le Fay, Kenzie and Jordan are aided by an ancient order of Arthurian allies as they navigate a series of assassination attempts, diabetes-inducing desserts, mythical fallen heroes, moody Spanish boys, and a quest for a certain magical sword.
