Chapter 29 "Next Day"

Avery P.O.V.

I woke up and climbed out of bed. I started making my bed. My mom always says make your bed before you start your day. So, that's what I am doing. After I got my bed made. I started grabbing clothes out of my closet and dresser.

I put them on my bed for a minute. But first I wanted to make sure my phone was fully charged before I went to school today. I look down on my bedside table and see my phone was fully charged. Then I put down my phone and walked over to my bed and grabbed my clothes and a towel and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

After getting out of the shower. I wrap my towel around my body and another towel around my head. I started getting ready for school. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. After I dry my face. I started putting on my make-up.

My black mascara and my black eyeliner and my pink lip gloss. After I saw how my make-up was doing. I started taking off the towel over my head. I started combing my hair out. I didn't want to do much with my hair. I am going to let it air dry and let it down today. I usually dry my hair with an air dryer and put it up in a messy bun on top of my head.

But today I wanted to do something different. I wanted to look pretty today with my hair down. Afterwards, I was satisfied with my outcome.

I started walking into my bedroom.

I walked inside my door and walked over towards my bed and grabbed my clothes and started getting dressed. After I got dressed, I started putting on my shoes and grabbed my bag and walked out the door. I walked towards my stairs.

Downstairs

When I hit the last steps, I walked inside the kitchen, and I saw my parents kissing.

I made a disgusting face staring at them. But even though I think it gross I am glad they have a love I have been dreaming about since I was a little girl. I walked inside the room, and I cleared my throat. "Uhm," I told them.

They both moved away and started fixing their clothes.

My mom got off my dad’s lap and started walking over towards me with red cheeks.

"Oh, hey honey." You hungry Avery" She asked me.

I shook my head and said no.

"I am good, I just grab myself an apple and a bottle of water." I am waiting for someone to pick me up.

When I said that to my parents. I jumped up when I heard the doorbell ring.

"That's for me!" I yelled out and went to the door. I opened it and I had a smile on my face and when I saw who it was at my door, Elijah? I said in my head. Why is he here?

I thought Jake was going to be here, not him. I didn't want to be rude, but I couldn't help it. My smile dropped. He saw my facial expression. I thought I saw sadness and brokenness. But then he shook his head and then blink, and his cocky smile was back on his face.

"Elijah, hi" "I mean Alpha," I said, bent my head and said." Why are you here?" I asked him. With nervousness in my voice.

I must be on my toes being around him. Because one minute he’s nice and gentle with me and the next he can be angry and hurtful towards me. So yeah, I am nervous around him. I try not to flinch around him when he walks inside my house.

He saw what I did, and I saw his face look sad. That was the first I thought. There’s no way Elijah Woods would feel guilty and sad. But that's a change for him. I am seen as a human and not the monster I always thought he was. I shook my head, and I opened my mouth and asked him.

"Where is Jake?" Do you know if he is coming to pick me up?"

"Isn't he supposed to pick me up?" I asked him. I didn't want him to be mad at me for asking him. So, I stuck out my chest and showed him I am not scared and stared him down. I stand there waiting for him to say something. We stand there in my doorway in my house just staring into each other's eyes.

Then he opened his mouth.

"Who said Jake isn't here?" He said putting his finger through my hair. I flinch and move back away from him. Because he scares me. He makes me nervous. Because I don't know when he is going to flip out on me.

Elijah P.O.V.

"Elijah, hi" "I mean Alpha," she said to me. Then I bend down on her neck. I can smell her. I would have to calm down before I do something really stupid. She kept on talking and asking me questions. So, I am standing there in my own thoughts. I am thinking about how I am going to mate with my mate. I can feel my heart racing inside my chest. I wonder if she could feel it because I am so close to her.

" Why are you here?"

"Where is Jake?" Do you know if he is coming to pick me up?"

"Isn't he supposed to pick me up?" She kept asking question after question. I knew she was nervous because she kept on talking and talking. If she weren't my mate, I would have already been gone. Damn, she smells good. After she waited for me to say anything. I didn't say anything just yet. We just kept on standing there and making eye contact with silence. I licked my lips staring at her plump lips. I want to bite and run my tongue around her lips. I want to lick her lips and down her body.

But instead, I wake up out of my daydream about what I want to do to her body. So, I open my mouth.

"Who said Jake isn't here?" I said putting my finger on her hair. I look at her and her face is priceless because her eyes are big, and her mouth is hung open. What I would do with her mouth open around my coc- Stop it or you're going to get blue balls and I don't need that right now. I chuckled and whispered inside her face.

"So, come on sweetheart, we better hurry, or we are going to be late for school," I told her walking back outside towards Jake's jeep.
