The Transfer
Chapter 54 - The Packs

"Darling girl, I've missed you,” Blu said as she came up to me. I smiled at her warmly as hugged her. Her cheek was warm against mine and I enjoyed her embrace while it lasted. She slowly pulled away and then smiled at me as she stepped to the side and let Nicolas come forwards.

He hugged me tightly and sighed deeply. "Ezra has been filling me in on everything that's been happening over the weeks we've been apart. Henry is definitely being strange. I'm sorry about how he's been treating you."

Nicolas’ words were sincere and they made me feel warm in my chest. I smiled and pulled away from him and shrugged my shoulders. Nicolas nodded at me as he began to introduce himself to my brothers.

I said hello to the rest of the family, and then stood by Liam again. He was still heated from what had happened with Brennon. His blood was hot and angry, and he was warmer than normal.

I slipped my hand into his and squeezed gently. He looked down at me and smiled weakly.

"Don't worry about him. He's just a jerk,” I told Liam. He nodded at me and kissed my forehead, ignoring the scowl that Samaya gave him for it

Finally, after all introductions were made, Beckett cleated his throat and gained everyone's attentions. We all turned to him, and I watched him smile at everyone.

I already knew he was going to be an incredible leader. He had no idea how good he was going to be for the pack. He truly underestimated himself all the time.

"Let me show everyone to their rooms," Beckett said as he turned. He began to walk away, and everyone followed him. I knew I would be staying in my old room, and everyone else would be bunking in cabins.

Beckett showed Liam's family to their cabins first. The adults stayed in one and then the children were in a seperate one next door. Kendall and Piper were both incredibly excited to have what they claimed was a sleepover.

Beckett showed them around the place before taking my pack to two seperate cabins. Henry and his family got a whole cabin to themselves, whilst Ezra and Jenny as well as the twins, Cass and Lila got a seperate one.

Beckett didn't explain where Liam was sleeping and I was glad because that meant he knew Liam would be staying with me. He was the only one who seemed to like Liam. I figured that it was probably because he had a mate himself and he knew how I felt towards Liam. My other brothers hadn't experienced what Beckett and I had. They would understand when they found their mates. "Thank the moon we aren't in the same cabin. I'm tired of walking in on you two all the time," Lucas mumbled to me as he walked down the hallway of the cabin. I rolled my eyes at him and Liam squeezed my hand.

"Maybe if you left us alone, it wouldn't happen so often," Liam growled out lowly. I laughed a little at this as Beckett finally turned to me and smiled.

"Breakfast is ready in the hall. I'm sure everyone is hungry,” Beckett announced to me. I nodded my head at him as we left the cabin. Everyone was surely enough waiting outside when we stepped foot out the cabin.

My brothers led everyone in the direction of the giant hall, where it would be used this morning for food and then cleared for tonight's meeting. The meeting was scheduled to start at six, and I had no idea how long it was to go for, but Henry mentioned it might be a long one. After the meeting, there was supposed to be a party.

Of course, adults weren't invited. Supposedly, one of the guys who lives in one of the houses a little further out into the woods was hosting it. Lila wanted to go, and so did Kendall and Piper apparently. Lila hadn't shut up about the damned party all morning.

Although, I didn't see the fun in going to the party. I would have preferred to stay in my room and watch t.v or have an early night. But Liam claimed that he wanted to go to the party so he could have a few drinks, so I figured that I had to go if he was attending.

The hall buzzed with people. Everyone was socialising and getting along with each other. Most people around knew each other anyways. Packs were supposed to be familiar with each other.

I wasn't all that familiar with most of the packs. Most of my childhood was spent running around, not caring about anything until recent years where I started locking myself away in my bedroom. Certain events changed me and the way I thought about things and I isolated myself because of it.

I felt a hand clasp mine and pull me forwards. I looked forwards, Rae dragging me towards the line to grab food.

"We made sure they cooked the bacon crispy, just the way you like it," Rae told me as he grabbed us a plate each and then began piling bacon onto my plate. My belly rumbled hungrily and I licked my lips.

"As much as you probably don't want to, you're going to need to control your mate on this trip. He can't just waltz in here and start causing issues with Brennon. It'll only make things worse,” Rae mumbled to me as we shifted down the line, grabbing more food for ourselves.

I nodded at Rae. I understood what he meant. Liam had to respect that he was no longer in his own territory. He had boundaries and Brennon could easily kick him out the territory if things got too intense.

I didn't know how my father would react and I didn't want to know either.

"I know, Rae. I'll make sure he doesn't do anything stupid,” I told him. Rae shot me a smile as we turned away from the line and headed towards the tables. There was a large empty one with a heap of seats for everyone to sit.

Rae and Samaya took the two seats next to me, leaving Liam to sit beside Lucas, to which he softly groaned at and shot me a hopeful look in hopes that I'd help him out. I only teased and shrugged at him as I began to eat.

My blood boiled when Veronica slipped into the seat next to Liam. She grinned at him. Her leg brushed against his. It burnt badly.

Liam shot me a sympathetic look but he let it slide. Veronica could have done it accidentally. I doubted that though.

"Have you started up training again, Ali?" Samaya asked me as we ate. I nodded at him and tucked my hair behind my ears. I glanced warily at Liam and Veronica before looking away.

"Yup. First day of spring was the first day back. I'm loving it. Our Master of Arms came up with a new group training system. It's awesome,” I explained to him. Samaya nodded and smiled at me. “Lucas is in my group and he's been dying to try and take a bite out of my ass. But we all know he'd never get close,” I said teasingly as I looked to Lucas. He narrowed his eyes at me as a few of the others laughed.

"Now that you're here, I can finally have my turn. You're all talk. I bet I'll have you eating the dirt in seconds," Jax said from down the table. I shot him a nasty look and he smirked. He was going to get his butt kicked.

"You know, she’s actually a real good fighter. You'd be surprised how far she's come since she first arrived,” Lila piped up. She smiled at me and I returned the gesture. I liked that she was sticking up for me.

"We'll be the judge of that tomorrow. I dibs the front row seats, for sure,” Lauri said as she giggled. I rolled my eyes playfully and continued eating

My skin burned again. This time both my arm and leg was tingling with heat. The burn had gotten worse over the past few months. When I asked Ezra about it, he suggested that it could have been because Veronica was becoming more of a constant threat to Liam and I's bond.

I was crazy jealous of her. I hated how she was so perfect and pretty and how she got everything she wanted. She got away with everything she ever did. I had never seen her once seen her suffer any consequences for flirting around with Liam.

"Lila, I wanted some juice. Get me some?" Veronica said, turning her head to look at Lila. I raised my eyebrows at her and Lila sighed and nodded. She began to get up, so I cleared my throat and brought Lila's attention to me.

"What are you doing?" I asked her. Lila frowned at me and glanced between myself and then Veronica questioningly.

"Getting Veronica a drink?" Lila tilted her head at me slightly. I shook my head at her and then looked to Veronica.

"Do your arms and legs work?" I asked the spoiled female. She nodded at me. "Then go get it yourself."

Veronica looked shocked at what I had said. I watched Lila sit back down from the corner of my eye, and I smirked. I hoped Veronica was embarrassed by her disgusting behaviour. Lila wasn't her slave. Finally, Veronica got up and walked away to grab herself some juice. I continued eating in silence. "Thank you,” Lila told me. I looked down at her and shrugged. I didn't like seeing her get bossed around by her Veronica and Melissa. She wasn't a slave.

After breakfast, everyone stacked their plates and the cleaners collected them so they could clean the dishes and then get to clearing the hall for the meeting later on. Liam had to run away to business with Henry, and I took my chance of freedom.

"Alison, my dear, I think it's time we had another private chat. Don't you?" Nicolas appeared by my side as I walked. I smiled and nodded at him. We were overdue for another chat.

"Private chat? Who else is invited?" I heard Lucas’ voice from behind me. I winced a little and then looked to Nicolas. He was smiling.

"I think it's time we let some more people in on our little secret, Alison," Nicolas said. I slowly nodded and then looked behind me.

My brothers and Lucas, Leon, Cass, Lila, Ezra and Jenny were following along. Christian and Mason were walking alongside Nicolas, and all the others had already gone back to their cabins. I knew I could trust these people with the suspicions that I was having.

"Come along. We can talk privately in the cabin,” I said as I motioned my head in the direction of the cabin that Lila was supposed to be staying in with the others. Everyone nodded and no one spoke as they followed after me towards the cabin.

Once we made it into the cabin, everyone crowded into the living room. Nicolas pulled out a small book and a pen from somewhere miraculous and then sat beside me on the couch. The carpet was soft under my feet and the room was warm from the sunlight beaming in from the windows. Everyone positioned themselves comfortably and I looked at the large group of people surrounding me. It was a huge risk to take, telling them all the big secret. But it was worth it. I had a gut feeling that most of them would agree with what was happening.

There was no other way to find out if they agreed or not. It was finally time to tell them all about Henry.
