Chapter 27 - Whose Room?

Nyx flew out of the room and shut the door. Selena, Polly, and Trisha looked at her in concern. She had seen some terrible things, but the sight of a torso with missing limbs and head shook her.

“What’s wrong? What did you see?” Selena asked her. Nyx looked at the pups not sure she should tell them what was in the room.

“We’re not babies, we’re guards,” Polly said, crossing her arms.

“I don’t want to give you nightmares,” Nyx said, looking at Selena. She wasn’t used to being around pups, so she didn’t know what was appropriate or not.

“We’ve seen bad things and heard really bad things. It won’t give us nightmares,” Trisha replied before Selena could say anything. Nyx hoped Bianca and Gunnar wouldn’t be mad at her.

“Okay, but if your parents come after me you better guard me.” She told them. Both smiled and nodded.

“We will,” Polly answered.

“The room is dark, and there’s evil energy. On the bed is a body with no arms, legs, or head. Who’s room is that?” Nyx glanced at the pups, and they didn’t seem fazed in the slightest. Maybe they were stronger than she gave them credit for.

“I don’t think anyone was supposed to be in that room. Let’s go check the office. We have a list of who’s in what room. Maybe they put someone there that I’m unaware of.” Selena felt sick knowing someone was killed in the palace.

“You and the pups go to the office. I’m going to fly through the rest of the rooms quickly. I want to make sure that’s the only room we need to be worried about.” Nyx said. Trisha and Polly wanted to argue, but they were supposed to protect the Queen, so they didn’t.

Nyx flew through the rest of the palace within minutes, and no one else gave her any concern. She did stop in Andrew’s room to talk to him for a minute.

“There’s a room on the second floor that has a torso missing a head, arms, and legs. I could feel an evil presence there, but I didn’t see anyone.” Andrew frowned. It concerned him that something that evil could be there with no one knowing.

“Let me know if you find out anything else. Eros is sending Helios to help.” Nyx groaned loudly.

“Why him?” She asked angrily. She and Helios had an affair many years ago, but he wasn’t the type of man to be with one woman. Nyx was looking for someone to spend her life with; not someone to have hot sex with now and then.

“Eros figured having someone from there who could travel between realms would help us here. He’s feeling helpless not being able to be here himself. I know you have a history with him. Are you going to be okay?” The last thing Andrew wanted was for the Gods and Goddesses to fight. If they were focused on each other, they wouldn’t be much help in stopping the sisters.

“I’ll be fine. Just keep Helios, and his magic penis away from me.” Nyx smirked as Andrew groaned and put his fingers in his ears.

“That was more than I needed to know. I’ll let you know when he’s here.” Nyx left and went to the office to see if Selena found anything.

“Just like I thought no one was supposed to be in that room. Who could have gotten in without us knowing, and who did they kill?” Selena asked. Polly and Trisha stood at her side.

“I don’t know, but we need to find out the answers to both of those questions. Everyone should be waking up now. Let’s have a meeting with those we trust. I spoke to Andrew, he said that Eros is sending Helios here to help. He’s the God of the sun.” Nyx still wasn’t happy about Helios coming. He was a sweet talker and knew which buttons of hers to press. She had to be strong, or she would be right back in his bed again, and that was the last thing she wanted.

“Great, I’m glad we have more help coming. I’ll mindlink the others to come to the office.” Selena replied. Polly and Trisha were exhausted but their excitement of being part of something so big was keeping them awake.

“Can you please come to the office? We have some news we’d like to share as well as what Nyx found,” Selena mindlinked Zaiden, Bianca, Gunnar, Omar, Alani, Hermes, Daphne, and Andrew. Those were the only people they trusted without question. Once everyone was in the office Nyx started.

“I went to every room in the palace, and only one gave me concern.” She quickly repeated what she had found. Everyone looked at Polly and Trisha.

“We’re not babies. We know there’s bad stuff,” Polly said.

“Yes, and I’m going to be five, so I’ll have my wolf, too,” Trisha said. Bianca and Gunnar looked at each other. They had completely forgotten with everything else going on that Trisha’s birthday was coming up.

“Do you have any idea who was killed?” Omar asked. He and Alani were the lead warriors, and he didn’t like that someone had slipped by them.

“We have no idea. No one was supposed to be in that room,” Selena answers him as Zaiden wraps his arms around her.

“I stopped in the room on my way here. I don’t believe the person was killed here. There’s no blood anywhere. It feels like it was put there to send a message. It still doesn’t explain who was able to place it without any of us seeing them.” Andrew says.

“Did one of you bring someone bad with you?” Polly asked looking at Nyx and Hermes.

“I didn’t I’m here to help,” Nyx replied. Once again she was reminded of why she loved the little pups. Nothing was getting past them.

“What about you Hermes? Were you really with Daphne when she was sick?” Trisha asked, narrowing her eyes at him. Daphne bit her lip so she wouldn’t laugh. Hermes spent hours giving her so many orgasms that she was sure she had blacked out more than once.

“I was with Daphne the entire time. I never left her side, not even for a minute. I had to make sure she was well taken care of.” He replied, wrapping his arms around Daphne from behind.

“What are we going to do about the body and the room?” Bianca asked. She wanted to get the girls to bed but knew they wouldn’t go until Selena went to her room.

“I think you should leave the body there for right now until we figure out what’s going on. I’m the goddess of darkness. I will stay by the room all night while the rest of you sleep. I can disguise myself so no one will know I’m there. Maybe I can see who goes into the room,” Nyx said, looking around at the others.

“Wake us immediately if you see or hear anything,” Zaiden replied. He wasn’t happy about having a dead body in the palace, but Nyx was right, they needed to know more before they moved anything in that room.

A few minutes later, everyone went to bed while Nyx made herself invisible and stood outside the room with the body. Every once in a while she would hear a little noise, but nothing was coming from inside the room.

Just as the sun began to rise, she heard someone coming in her direction. She hadn’t been at the palace long, so she wasn’t expecting the person to be someone she had met. When she saw who was coming, she relaxed slightly. They were actually someone she had met earlier that day. Nyx expected the person to continue past the room, but they didn’t. They stopped at the door and turned to look at the spot where she was standing. If she didn’t know any better, she’d swear they were looking right at her.

“Hello, Nyx. Nice to see you again. Why don’t you come into the room where you can get a much better view?” Nyx froze. How did they know she was there? Fear ran down her spine when the person grinned at her evilly. She didn’t know what was going on, but suddenly she felt sick and then everything went black as she fell to the ground.
