A moment later, Julian sat on his chair with a calm expression, looking like a nobleman. Ella walked over and held out a document with both hands. “It’s the last quarter’s financial report, Mr. Meister.” “Has Noel recovered?” Julian took the report and flipped through the pages with his bony fingers. Then, he said caringly, “Tell him to rest for a few days more if he hasn’t recovered. You’ll have to work harder when he isn’t around.” “He called me this morning and said he’ll be back for work tomorrow. I think he’s fine now.” “All right.” Julian nodded and continued perusing the report. “Since he’s coming back, you’ll face less pressure.” Without saying anything, Ella nodded politely and turned around to leave. Following that, she returned with a cup of coffee and put it down gently before leaving again. In the Design Department on the 11th floor, Celeste went through the information about the Love Forever series again. She was interested and thought that it might be a good chance for her to shine. Although she had never designed jewelry before, she used to design clothes. She believed that her skills could be applied to jewelry design as well. Only when a designer infused their feelings into a design would the final product have a soul. You don’t have to design anything.” “Why?” Celeste furrowed her brows. She approached the woman and said, “I’m also a designer!” Chelsea looked at her in a way as though she had just heard a joke. She picked up her cup and took a sip before examining the young woman. “You call yourself a designer, but do you have any notable work? Have you earned any awards? Can you show me any achievements?” Faced with the questions, Celeste was rendered speechless. Just as she was trying to form some words in her mind to stand up for herself, Chelsea continued, “Since you’re in the probation period, you should do some miscellaneous work first. It could serve as training for you.” The probation period would last two months, but they had to submit the drafts in a month. Celeste didn’t want to miss the chance. “Miss Mack, I—” “Get out.” “Miss—” “I said get out!” Chelsea interrupted her again icily. Her phone on the table rang just then, so she connected the call. Left with no choice, Celeste turned around and left. She returned to her desk feeling dejected. Soon, she snapped back to reality as her phone started ringing. She looked at the caller ID and realized it was Edmond. Therefore, she quickly pulled herself together and went somewhere quiet before picking up the call. “Hi, Old Mr. Meister,” she said in a small but sweet voice. “Celeste, do you remember what I told you before? Have you made up your mind?” Edmond asked amiably. “I’d really love to meet your family members.” Celeste knew there was no escaping. After giving it some thought, she replied, “Why don’t we meet up this Saturday? Since Julian has just taken on his new role, he must be swamped with work.”
