Chapter 22

Rushing in the forest I felt several branches clawing at my face and I grew inpatient. The forest was too thick and I could not see the way out anymore.

Frustrerad I stomped slightly on the ground and a large crack formed beneath my feets I tried to look around my surroundings somewhere I could run to but the loud noises from the ground and how it started to sink in front of me and spread closer to me.

I didn’t want to have my legs crushed from the impact when I would fall into the hole so I jumped without thinking and I started to sprint once again and then quickly realized that my feet weren’t on the ground and was too angry to be fascinated by this new found ability.

This time I was determined to make use of this flying ability to reach bortums quicker. I noticed how I stayed up in the air longer than I believed I could. I was floating mere meters from the sinking hole. Lucky was not enough to describe how I was feeling. I felt reborn and light weighted.

Pushing one arm up I started to float higher from the ground and raised my other arm until I was on my stomach. I stayed there for a few minutes imagining his voice and the betrayal. A cold sensation graced my veins and my pulse rose from the anger.

Once I allowed my hate to devour me I could hear his voice once again in my head and was distracted by a weird sensation growing in my fingertips. I lifted my arm closer to my face and saw my veins turn to dark purple growing at a fast speed. I was fascinated and turned my head to look at my other arm that was now completely dark purple all the way to my shoulder blade.

I focused on my pulsing energy and on the direction where the meteor had landed. I knew like the back of my head and started flying towards at inhuman speed. The wind was sharp and my fists were closed. I caught on quickly and adapted to my new abilities. The trees became smaller as I flew higher up and once I was close to the clouds I took a moment to float and look around hoping the androids' destruction would give away their location.

The more I strained my eyes on the view below me I could see how the thick forest started to become more divided until I could see each branch on the trees and small birds that rested on it.

A path of trees burned down and were darkened to the roots and the ground. I felt sick to my stomach thinking about how close Thomas was murdered right there. I dove straight towards the large empty spot where no trees were in sight.

I landed swiftly on my feets as I hit the ground with enough force to get their attention. Talus and Ekvtron turned to me and were ready to charge at me but halted in their steps when I started to float. The wind picked at my hair and a tension lingering in the air.

Talus and Ekvtron were blocking the view of Bortums and every so often I could see his form passing by their silhouettes. I closed our distance and saw that Talus and Ekvtron were covered in full body armor with the darkest shade of blue.They passed over six feet in height but that did not stop me from flying towards Bortums with all my strength.

I titled my head to Talus, almost feeling the corners of my lips turn when I managed to fly past him but the burning sensation that came from my scalp wiped the smile from my face and I was thrown to the ground and the impact from breaking through the ground knocked the air from my lungs. I tried to catch my breath but the dirt that quickly collapsed on my face made it harder for me to breathe and regain my strength.

I lifted myself but lost balance when my hands sinked into the dirt and my attempts to kick the crumble parts of the ground off my feets only made more dirt collapse on me. Cold metal hands dug into my legs and before I could react quick enough I was thrown in the air and the sounds of flames erupting from the metal boots grew louder and louder.

I tensed my muscles trying to stop the speed I was thrown at and regained some of my balance as I floated in the air panting but the speed Ekvtron was flying towards me and the flame that was burning beneath his boots boosted his punch and struck me with an immense force that sent me like a lighting in the ground. I crashed on the ground and heard the sound of ribs breaking and healing as quickly as I landed on a large stone that was under the ground.

My whole body was engulfed in pain that sent me into a rage. I couldn't let Bortums win and die by the hands of Talus and Ekvtron. I focused on my anger and felt it rush to my veins pass my arms and onto my legs. I lifted my head up ignoring the dirt that collapsed on me and caught a glimpse of my legs that turned to dark purple. Tingling sensation spread across my neck and onto my jaw and I felt an immense power that was replaced with the pain that took over my body.

I rose with speed and punched Ekvtron with all my power and sent him flying across to the pit where Bortums was. His legs were hidden by the pit he was standing in but I could see that he was not expecting my arrival as he removed his gaze from Ekvtron and onto me with an expression that no living person could read.

‘’ You dare to take his liquid and empty it into your flesh’’ Said Bortums with an ear piercing loud voice that my eardrum almost burst. His eyes darted back and forth to my face and to Ekvtron.

His gaze was stuck on my neck and jaw when I let out a scream and felt the pulse in my neck almost burst from how loud I yelled.

‘’ You killed him, You took everything away from me and even my own humanity.’’ I yelled until my voice was hoarse and wiped the blood that trickled to my face.

Talus ignored the conversation between Bortums and I as he lifted his arm at me and a burning dark flame erupted from his hand. Did he want to burn me like they did to Thomas was all I could think of. I remembered how my blood reacted to Ekvtron’s liquid and I reached for the blood on my forehead and felt a lighting erupt as my fingers turned dark purple.

I soaked my fingers with my blood . I would be quicker before his flame would reach me I told myself and braced the consequences that would follow if his flame and my lighting would touch each other.

‘’ Not yet, I need her alive for this.’’ Bortums ordered Talus, stopping him from turning me into ashes.

Talus dropped his arm and I soaked my hand into my blood until it was dripping. I needed to take Talus and Ekvtron out in order to avenge Thomas and kill Bortums.

Once Bortums lowered his gaze back to the pit and struck his arm onto the ground Talus, Ekvtron and I were sent flying to different directions and an earthquake stronger than the one I had faced erupted.

I regained my balance in the air and watched the trees far from us collapse from the impact of Bortums striking the ground. Bortums continued striking the ground and I flew higher up and saw him sink deeper into the pit.

I dove straight to him but the ground splitted into halves and large stones came flying towards me blocking me from his view. I lifted my arms and felt the heat of lighting on my hands and cut the stones in halves.

I saw Ekvtron fly towards the pit and stand there to guard it. Frustrerad I flew straight towards him but was pulled back by Talus who once gripped my hair again and released one of his hands on my hair and pressed the other one on my neck.

Once he squeezed the air out of me he lifted me up and then flew straight down onto the ground sending me crashing down until I was deep inside where the only light I could see was his eyes.

The dirt started to collapse more on my face and I struggled to hold my breathe once I released my death grip onto Talus’s arms he rose me up and then pressed me close to the edge of the hole where the ground had been splitted. I pressed my palms on his arm but it only melted some parts of his arm and he pushed me deeper inside the hole until I could almost feel my neck breaking from the pressure.

I panted for air when Talus was sent flying off of me. I stared in shock and my pupils dilated when I saw John floating in front me. My eyes darted from his face and to every inch of his body trying to register how he was flying, unlike me he looked perfectly human there was no signs of dark purple veins. It was making me question my own sanity.

John lifted me by the collar of my shirt and put me on my feets with a taunting look on his face just right before he punched me in my face causing me to stumble backwards but the shock I was feeling made me regain my balance quicker and I felt the blood in my nose trickle down.

‘’ You freak, You tried to put the blame on me knowing that your vile androids killed him. You are a coward Jessica and that is all that you will be in this life.’’ Said John with hatred in his voice and forcing me to realize that I killed Thomas not my androids but on my own hands as I am the reason for the androids being here.

‘’ Once I am done with your androids I will come after you and you will pay for what you have done to all humanity.’’ John said with a promise in his voice and took an oath that I would be punished.

I lunged at him and from the silhouette on the ground I saw Talus and Ekvtron following my lead. John flew in the air unfazed by the three of us attacking him and lifted his fist high and Talus flew towards him and pinned him down but John managed to kick Talus off him and they both quickly stood up to their feets.

Ekvtron landed beside Talus and threw a punch towards him but John was quick to dodge their attack causing the two androids fist to collide, a force so strong that both ended up flying backwards.

I was fuming at the sight and threw a kick at John’s ribs. But he caught my feet and spun me around, throwing me closely to the edge of the hole. Before I could regain and not fall down, I started to crawl away as i felt the hole was closing up and dragging along stones and everything else close to it.

“ My comrades, tell them that the planet is ready.’’ Bortums voice boomed through the now little hole in the ground as Talus and Ekvatron headed towards.

John looked at the hole with confusion and anger. I stood ready with my fist up but they turned their heads up to the sky and left a blazing heat behind as they launched towards the sky.

“ I’m going to kill you, Jessica you have fucked over humainity.” John fumed and was now running towards me with a murderous glint in his eyes,I raised my palm and lightning struck him. He tumbled away from me and I snapped my eyes to the side as I heard police sirens and officers yelling at me.

I screamed out by the overwhelming decision I had to make. I stared at the sky where two lights traveled wondering if I should take off. I was a threat to all humanity and every living creature on this planet. I breathed in one last oxygen from this world and took off until the earth was out of sight.

Determined to put an end to bortums plan, he had used me like a labrat not knowing the rat was going to be the reason for his misery ending.
