There I was standing in front of the pit and deep into my thoughts barely being able to make a decision. My thoughts were erupted by the sudden swift movement coming from down the pit. I was not given time to fully react as I stared at the three androids standing now in front of me. I moved my hair out of the way when their quick movements made my hair cover my face.

I could see more clearly now as I looked at their form that was covered with the finest silver I have laid my eyes upon. The closest thing I felt to happiness was consuming every nerve in my brain as I stood there dazed by their presence.

All the good feelings vanished as soon as a silver arm came close to my face and I realized how my face would be completely blown up if the android that was standing in the middle would blast at me.I cursed at myself not prioritizing how vulnerable I was to stand so close to them without any protection I didn’t even try to shield my face with my arms knowing nothing would make a difference.

I didn’t accept my death; it was knowing that I was trapped behind my body, unable to move out of the way or simply flinch that made me just stand there.I was never the type to scream or even draw attention even if my life was depending on it and in this moment I would rather die than draw attention to the androids afraid that someone else would collect them.

The android lowered its arm and closed our distance to a level that made me take a step back since the android could not understand it was invading my space and too close to my liking. Once I took a step back it only made the android in the middle take a step forward and the other two androids were not moving an inch out of their spot.

‘’ Speak and your longing will meet its end. Said the android in front of me with a loud voice and a clear one. I was unable to respond back by the sudden shock that washed over me a million different thoughts were in my head that left me completely speechless.

It could speak? Echoed in my mind that the last thing I expected was the android to speak fluent in english and its choice of words sent an uneasy feeling to my spine. What longing was the android speaking about racing my mind did I by accident speak when I laid my eyes upon them? I wondered. But no matter how many different thoughts I had I could not choose which one to ask.

Hesitation paralyzed me to the ground and once I met its eyes it looked empty for a second but the more I looked at the details it was as if the android had a personality. I did not bother to conceal my real emotions and expression but when the androids were staring back at me with a patience waiting for my answer made me put my mask back on.

The way the android stood so close to me and how it carried itself as if it was aware of my deepest longing and desperation to discover their existence made me want to test a few theories of my own out. Could I gain anything out of this awareness that the android had? I wondered. If my theories were right then maybe just maybe I could sense out of this bizarre situation.

‘’ Then what longing do you speak of and how correct are your words upon it.’’ I said with a wary voice and suspicion lingering in it. Just by depending on the answer that would come out of this android would seal my future. If we could understand each other in a clear manner then how could I lose.

I became more convinced by my own words when I saw that there would be no loss if we could understand each other. I could be their creator in front of the university’s eyes and the public ones if I were to be questioned. A chance to redeem myself and pay for the losses my grandma felt was given to me only if I could see any awareness or consciousness in that android and the other two.

The wind felt more cold than I remembered and it was because of how disturbing this scenario felt. I didn’t know where to look but I was sure to avoid staring at the androids in front of me because it would only bring me out the hiding that I was in fact this close to betray my planet for my own benefits.

The android that was standing closest to me and spoke had flickered through its fingers on the very same arm that it was pointing at me minutes ago. Confused by its actions I wondered why it did not answer my question first before it would flicker through its arm. I tipped closer and saw its arm had a gray light screen over its forearm all the way to its elbow.

That screen was not on its arm seconds ago nor was it when I thought I had reached my end. I took a step further back when I saw the android once again point its arm at me.I slowly started to come to the conclusion that I gave the android enough time to reload its energy blast which it could not fire the first time it pointed its arm at me.

A dark green light came out of the android’s arm and I was quick to shield my face with my arms this time, it came at me with a human speed and I stood there for a brief second and when I could not feel any difference I lowered my arms and took a quick look at the android in front of me. The android was staring at whatever that stood behind me and I followed its gaze and turned my body to the direction.

A dark green projector was laid in front of me and the closer I came I saw a very detailed diagram based on the emotions that I was feeling. I didn’t dare to take another step closer or far from the projector. Fear had consumed me and I could hear my pulse ringing in my ears. There was no way out of this. How would I even respond to this without losing my mind?

The more I started to panic I could see how the diagrams were changing in front of my eyes on the dark green projector. I was terrified now that I realized that the android behind me could detect my emotions even those I masked were all laid out in the open. I could never deceive or do mind games in order to get what I want. I was truly doomed and powerless in front of the androids, especially the one who had this projector coming out of its arm.

‘’ Speak and I will decide on that agreement.’’ Said the android with the same tone but with a different answer that I was expecting.I refused to turn towards the android that spoke behind me and felt how I wanted to run towards the forest and into my grandma’s arms.

But what would I say that I once again failed to redeem myself? That I would let everybody else surpass me and leave me to rot in a meaningless dream that would never be fulfilled just by my own strength and efforts.I would rather let my lifeless body be found than to walk back home trapped into a wheel that would never cease.

I was aware of how brutal that sounded but through half of my life I was seen as a failure especially by the ones who gave birth to me so how could I continue to be a failure in front of the only person who believes in me.

I know that being dead would only make the matters worse and the weight more heavy for my grandma but I only meant it as a metaphor that my own pride and ego could not be tainted.

Because in this moment where my back was towards the most dangerous thing in this whole planet I wanted to live more than I have ever wished for. I wanted to be alive and not be brutally murdered by those androids

If I were to reject and run for my life I would only reach a small part of the track field before they would reach me and cease me from this world. That is why I turned towards them and spoke until my lips were bleeding. A plead I could not utter to save my own life.

The words that were exchanged between us lingered in my mind. It felt strange to pour out my heart to the android in front of me when I have never uttered those words to a living person before.

Once again I stood there waiting for the android to respond back. I wandered my gaze to the other two androids who still did not move. Were they commanded by the android in front of me that they would not involve themselves into this conversation? I wondered.

There was no question that those two androids also had awareness like the one who spoke first did. Each one of them possessed this high intelligence and being able to respond back I could feel it when they had similar forms and arrived together.

‘’ An agreement between Jessica Holmes and Bortums will cease the longing.’’ Said the android with the same tone but once it addressed its name to me I could hear a small difference in its motionless voice.

I was constantly feeling afraid and the way it spoke of itself when it said its name drove me closer to the edge. What power would I duel with and how would I be able to present myself as its creator when the android’s presence and how it carried itself made me terrified.

My mind was all over the place and once again a conflict about my safety and my goal rose. How could I let an opportunity like this grasp out of my hands? The android was more intelligent than I could imagine. If the wrong hands were able to get them, it would be the end of the world.

I could not leave the androids out in the open and close to the meteor that would bring unnecessary attention. Would my garage be enough to hide the androids for a couple weeks before I could find a better location I wondered. Leaving the androids was not an option and I had to settle with my garage for the moment I convinced myself.

‘’ Despite this is against my wishes I have no other choice but to take you with me.’’ I said with a low voice and regret that started to overpower me.

I could hear their heavy footsteps behind me as I walked into the pitch black forest with my phone guiding me with the brightest light setting. Each step I took I felt a deep regret that I was risking my grandmother's safety but what choice do I have when there was a risk if I were to walk away from the androids that another person would replace me and form an agreement with them. At the moment my side of the agreement was accepted I did not bother to ask what side I needed to fulfill simply by the fear I could be replaced if I were to deny them.
