Chapter II

It had been two weeks since Aiden and Lyra met at the garden to talk about how to get rid of her fake pregnancy without anyone noticing it. They had staged it to happen when the alpha was having a meeting with the other alphas of other packs. That meeting was to happen in a few hours as Lyra paced up and down her room. She was feeling nervous and

uneasy.

“What if the plan did not work?’ was all she could think of. She needed reassurance and Aiden had tried his best to give her some but she was still shaky from the unknown outcome of the actions she was about to take.

Lyra sat on her bed wondering what to do to calm herself. She had earlier requested calming tea but nothing was working. The calming tea she requested tasted like water and did nothing to her. She took several deep. breaths in and out to see if that would help her be more at ease but nothing happened. Instead, she felt weak from the energy she burnt. taking deep breaths. It was tiring.

Suddenly, she hears a knock on the door. She was tense and shouted at the person outside the door.

“Go away!. I want to be left alone” her voice was loud and cranky.

“It is I, your husband and mate. Open the door, I wish to see you right now” Lucian said at the door as he knocked at the door again. Lyra gasped. She had not expected him at her door till tomorrow.

She rushed to her closet and grabbed her fake pregnancy wrap which she put under her skirt, through her clothes and straight to her belly. She lapped it over and it looked like she was really pregnant again. The Alpha knocked on her door again as she screamed, ‘coming, my alpha’ to him..

Lyra quickly adjusted her belly to fit her belly size and then she took deep breaths. It required strength and stamina to fake pregnancy to the Alpha and the whole pack. She needed a moment to get into her acting mood. It was not easy for her.

Lyra was done practicing her breathing and getting into her pretend mood.

and then she slowly walked to the door and opened it for the Alpha.

Lucian stood outside for a few seconds studying her face and her b*dy before he decided to enter. Lyra made way for him to enter and then watched as he walked to her bedside. He looked around her room and then sat on her bed.

“Luna. Is there anything going on that you would like to tell me?” Lucian said to her as he adjusted his sitting position and leaned on her bed.

Lyra held a look of confusion at first but quickly changed her facial expression.

“My Alpha. What do you mean exactly?”

Lucian looked at her suspecting she was holding something.

“Tell me. I would like to know if you have any problems or concerns. I really want to know. You know you are carrying my cub and I need to take. care of you. I can not afford to lose another Luna”

Lyra smiled. She finally understood him. He must have been feeling guilty for Nadia’s death and was becoming paranoid for her sake and so he came. to see if she was doing fine. She laughed inwardly but tried her best to keep a straight face. She would use that to her advantage of course.

“Alpha. I feel a little dizzy and unwell. The baby inside me makes me feel sick inwardly and that maybe why you think something is wrong, but I assure you that nothing is wrong. I am perfectly fine. Please, do not bel worried.” She said as she walked to him.

She put her right hand over his shoulder as she used her left hand to rub his head.

Lucian’s eyes looked like he had traveled to another world as she continued to rub his head.

Wolves were like dogs and she knew they had a weakness. Lyra smiled as she remembered what her grandmother had taught her. She did as she was taught.

“Are you sure you are fine?… If you aren’t, you can sit out this meeting. We can attend the next one together. We could even attend it with our child” he suggested.

But his suggestion was going to contradict her and Aiden’s plan and she could not allow that. Aiden had specifically planned for this and. everything was set. Not attending that event would mean she would have a way to lose her ‘pregnancy’ without being called a liar. She could not have that and so she refused.

“Don’t worry. I’ll try to make it” she said to Lucian as she planted him a k*ss on his forehead and his l*ps. Lucian nodded as he held her close to him. Lyra and Lucian stood in their embrace for a few minutes before he finally released her.

Lucian stood to his feet and enclosed her in a tight hug again. This time from behind as he did not want to press on her stomach. He had hugged her and planted k*sses on her head and l*ps and was about to leave when he stopped and requested to rob her belly. He said he would be gentle

about it.

Lyra had not packed the clothes beneath her gown properly. She knew

that if the alpha touched them, he would know in an ins that that

wasn’t her belly. It was just clothes and bigger clothes wrapped together. She knew she could not allow it.

“How about we do that another time? I already feel dizzy. I also haven’t taken a bath. You might get all sweaty and d*rty and I would not want that for the alpha. Especially since you are all neat and ready for the Alphas gathering. We should do that when you come back.” Lyra said to him. She hoped he would agree and let her go but after her speech, Lucian still. stood there looking at her.

“No, I insist. Let me touch our baby” Lucian said. He was still persistent and that was going to blow Lyra’s cover. She watched as he stretched his hands towards her belly.
