The Point of Fate
Chapter Two

Nate and Damon were both staring at me. Their eyes wide open and I was left speechless.

‘Mates...’ Naula whimpered

‘Wait...mates...as in....two mates?!’

‘Of course...’ she purred

My heart sped up and I ran. I ran through the people and to the rocks. I hid on the backside and sat down. I couldn’t breath. Two mates......those words flung through my head. I didn’t want two, let alone even one! This was not fair. I heard someone coming and I cowered behind the rocks.

“Louie!” Someone yelled. “Louie! Where are you?!”

“She’s hiding from us.” I heard another voice.

‘They sound angry.’ Naula said. ‘Blake and Lucian are looking for me. They’re calling...’

‘Don’t you dare give us away!’ I yelled at her.

“Louie, where are you sweetheart?” Damon asked. “We just want to talk. We’re as confused as you are. Please Louie...don’t be scared.”

Just then someone reached for me and pulled me out of my hiding spot. A big pair of arms wrapped around my waist keeping me from running. Then they pinned me to the ground. Nate’s hands pushed my wrists into the sand. I whimpered and closed my eyes. I let Naula take control.

My eyes opened and I could see Nate leaning over me with a blank expression. Damon had just knelt beside us and was pushing Nate aside.

“Back off a little, Nate, we don’t want to hurt her.” Damon growled.

Nate did as he said and let go. Naula pulled us up and we backed against the rock and pulled our knees to our chest. I whimpered inside and Naula only growled. ‘How dare they force us...’ she thought. ‘Calm down Naula...lets...just hear them out...’

“Louie, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you.” Nate said edging closer. “We don’t understand how we’re both you’re mates. We both also know how you view the mating process so we’re going to take it slow... Okay?”

“Let me speak to Blake and Lucian.” Naula said relaxing a little.

The boy’s eyes turned black and their wolf side came out. Lucian came foward but stopped in front of us. “Naula, my sweet, do not be afraid-”

“We are not afraid!” Naula growled.

“Let me finish.” He growled back. “It is a legend. We’ve all heard it growing up. Do you remember the storybook our parents used to read us every night?”

We nodded. “Yes, the one about the princess and her mates.”

“Well the tale didn’t end there. There was a curse that it would happen again. I don’t know if your father told you, but the vampires are planning to wage another war against us. It happened first with the high Princess. She and her two Alpha mates came together and defeated them.”

“What he’s trying to say is that the legend is coming to life as we speak.” Blake said. “You are technically princess of the district. This is why you have two mates. With the war upon us, I think the fates decided it was time to help.”

“What if I don’t want to do this?” I asked taking back control and standing up. I was still against the rock, but now the boys were a few more feet away. Their wolves were still in control.

“You don’t have a choice...and neither do we.” Lucian said.

“And what if I don’t mate? You know I’ve never wanted a mate. What makes you think I’ve changed my mind?”

“Louie...if you don’t mate with us to finish the bond...w-we’ll-”

“We’ll die.” Lucian finished. Lucian was obviously angry. His fists were clenched and his jaw was set. Nate on the other hand looked hurt. “Do you want us to die, Louie?”

“Of course not!” I yelled. “I-I.....Everything is happening too fast. I n-need time to t-think.”

“Think about what Louie?! If you say yes, we’ll live and kill the leeches. If you say no, then the guilt of killing your mates will kill you. I’m pretty sure its a clear decision!” Lucian yelled.

I felt tears sting my eyes and roll down my cheeks. Naula whimpered. I cringed when he yelled. My mind was spinning and my body was on fire. I was emotionally and mentally hurt. I had to get away. I pushed past them quickly and jumped into the lake to cool my skin down. It didn’t help but I kept swimming until I reached the island.

‘You can’t cool your skin with water...we need their touch...their comfort.’

‘Shut up Naula.’

I heard splashes behind me and I knew they would catch up with me soon. I swam faster and kept going. Then I felt a hand grab my ankle and pull me back. Then arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me up to the surface. ‘Not a good idea, mate.’ Lucian growled in my head. They drug me onto the beach of the island. I sat, curled up against a tree and coughed up a little water.

“Louie, are you okay?” Nate asked, signaling that Blake had given him back control. I only nodded and avoided looking at them. “Louie, please...just let me see your beautiful face.” He whispered.

I slowly looked up at him and gave in. He pulled me to him and calmed me down. He stroked my hair and started warming me up. But the burn my skin was still slightly there. ‘You need both..’ Naula said. I looked up at Damon who was growling a little. I grabbed his hand and pulled him down next to me. I sat between them. My legs touched Damon’s and my upper body was leaning against Nate. The burning sensation died and I began to relax. Damon had his hand resting on my leg and he gently stroked it.

“Louie?” Lucian asked coming out. I looked at him. “I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier. We were just hurt when you said you didn’t want us. I never meant to hurt you.” He reached over and stroked my hair. A low growl erupted from Nate but it stopped when I put my hand on his chest.

I stood up leaving them both in the sand. They both let out a quiet whine.

“I don’t know how I’m going to please you both... I mean it’s hard enough to please one possessive mate...but two?” I sighed. “I don’t know what I’m going to do.” I sat down in front of them, which was a mistake. As soon as I was at their level, they lunged forward and pushed me onto my back. They both laid next to me and held my hands down.

“Just relax and look at the stars.” Damon whispered.

I slowly relaxed and looked up at the stars. I mentally pointed out Orion, The Little Dipper, and Cassiopia. My concentration broke when I felt Damon turn towards me. I looked at him and saw him smirking.

“Louie we need to mark you. Both Nate and I. We can’t take it much longer.” Damon said.

I felt Nate turn to me as well. ‘They have to do it at the same time.’ Naula said.

My head was in a daze. I didn’t want to do this so soon, but if what they had said earlier was true, then we needed too as soon as possible and now was as good a time as any.

“You would have to do it at the same time.” I murmured.

Damon turned me towards him. “How do you want to do this Nate?”

Nate grabbed my arm and pulled it up to his lips and he kissed the top of my shoulder. “You get the left shoulder.” He said.

Damon moved closed and lifted my head. He kissed my left shouler sending a wave of pleasure through me. I fought back a groan.

‘One...Two...Three.’ and they bit down. I felt their teeth sink in and thier grip tighten. I gasped at the pain, but then it was replaced by pleasure. Then they kissed it, making the wound seal. I let them keep hold of me, growling with pleasure. The warmth from them covered me and I began getting sleepy. I leaned back against Nate and let my eyes close. I slowly went to sleep kowing I was safe.

Nate’s POV

After talking to Louie, I went to the island. I went deep to the cavern and sat by the glowing pool of water. I thought about Clarissa and how I didn’t want to break up with her, but I knew she wouldn’t be my mate. I let a few tears roll down my cheeks and I calmed myself down.

Damon’s POV

After I came up out of the water, I realized she was still under. I looked around and waited a few seconds, then I dove under. She was near the bottom of the lake and she was caught in the weeds. She looked up, her face calm, but I knew she was scared. She pointed to her foot and I immediatly tried to get her unstuck. I had just gotten her free when she let out her air. I grabbed her quickly and pulled her to the surface. She coughed and gasped for air. She leaned against me as I pulled her onto the shore. Lucian took control and I blanked for a few minutes.

‘I almost klled her...’ I thought.

’It was an accident Damon... nothing more, and nothing less.” Lucian said letting me have control again, I realized we where walking away from her, towards the volleyball court.

After the game, I looked for her and Nate. The party was about to start. I found Jessie and asked.

“Have you seen them? They better hurry. Everything is about to start.”

“Yeah, they’re on their way. Her and Nate were at the island. Don’t worry...see...here they come now.” Jessie said pointing to the beach. Sure enough, Louie came out of the water in only and bikini top and shorts. My breath caught for a moment. Then Nate came out behind her and they came straight here. The night went by fast. I had spiked the drinks and went onto the dance floor, letting the music have me.

Then I felt someone bump into me... Nate. He turned and smiled. He was toast. Like totally out of it drunk. Then someone backed into the both of us at the same time. I felt the sparks shoot through my body and Nate’s face told me he did too. We both turned to see Louie staring at us. Her face was pure shock and then she ran. She took off to the rocks. Nate and I didn’t waste anytime and ran after her. The party continued even as we ran from it.

Now... a few hours later, I watched Louie sleeping in the sand between Nate and I. Lucian purred with pleasure at having our mate so close. I had already gotten over the fact that we had to share her with Nate. It would be difficult to watch her touch him as she would me, but I’d have to get over it.

‘Where did you guys go?! We have a problem, a big problem!’ Jessie yelled through the mind link.

I let go of Louie and stood up, looking across the lake at the other beach. People were screaming and I could smell blood. Nate could too, but he kept hold of Louie.

‘Damon we need you! We’re getting slaughtered! I sent out alerts to our parents but we need you right now! Where’s Louie? Is she safe?’

‘Jess calm down, We’re on our way. She’s fine...don’t worry.’

“Nate, We need to go..now.” I said turning to him.

Louie stirred and woke up. “What’s going on?” She asked, with a concerned look on her face.

“Rouges...” I said.
