The Necromancer's Wand: Rise of the Phoenix
Chapter 16: One Down, Three To Go....Part 2

The breeze could be felt up this high, our clothes blowing with the wind. I raised my wand, directly at her center mass. “Execute!” I cast. My wand electrified before a stream of lightning shot from it.

Wynonna quickly brought her wand up in a odd defensive stance. The tip of her wand caught the tip of the lightning stream. The air heavily blurred as she began blocking my continuous attack.

Something, strange, caught the corner of my eye. She was moving her left hand to her right waist side. What was she up to? I intensified the electric beam, bring her to her knees but she still was blocking my attack.

I watched as she removed something from her waistline. “Is that...” I uttered to myself.

“Yes,” spoke Mordin, appearing beside me. “A second wand...but not just any. It is Seraphim, an Elder Wand! It belongs to Lara La’Crox of the Elder Council, used in my defeat. You must take her out, now!”

His warning came too late though. “Conduse,” she cast. Her personal wand stopped blocking my attack and started absorbing the electrical stream. Her wand became electrified, at first, but the electricity quickly travelled up her arm.

“What the...” I said in shock. I noticed the electricity continued to go up her right shoulder, to the left shoulder, and down her left arm. As the electricity reached Seraphim, it was absorbed by the wand.

She aimed Seraphim at the statue, right in front of my feet. “Reviera,” she chanted. My own beam of electricity shot from Seraphim. The beam cut through the stone, slicing the tip of the statue’s wand off.

I ceased my spell as I went into freefall, still standing on the tip of the wand. “Interesting...” I said to myself. I looked up, aiming my wand back toward the statue of Amadeus. I flickered as the chunk of stone crashed against the street.

I stood back on the statue. “How wicked of you Wynonna!” I spoke in surprise. “Dual Wielding wands is unheard of. I find the idea...very intriguing.” I held my left hand out. “Copliar Finay,” I chanted.

A bone wand appeared in front of my hand. It was a temporary copy of my own wand. This would have to do for now, seeing how I only can use the necromancer’s wand. I took the wand, holding both down at my side. She changed her stance, holding one wand above her head and the other out in front of her.

I was impressed for she had developed her own fighting style for dual wielding. “This ends here...” I smirked. I aimed the wand in my left hand at her, “Execute!” As the beam of electricity shot from my wand, Wynonna used one of her wands to protect herself with the Aegis barrier.

I aimed the right wand at her, “Flamento!” Flames spewed from the tip of wand, engulfing the barrier. I could hear the sound of her shield cracking from within. The spells would soon break through her defense.

“I have you now,” I boasted. As I heard a loud thud in the distance, I assumed my spells had broken through her barrier and sent her flying back into the neck of the statue. I halted my spells so the smoke could clear. I had to see if I wounded her.

As the flames died and smoke dispersed, I noticed it was just my lightning that struck the neck of the statue. So, where was... “Looking for me,” called out Wynonna. I looked up, honing on where I heard her voice. To my surprise, she had flickered from inside her barrier onto the head of the statue.

As she raised her personal wand at me, I cast Aegis again. “Decimate,” she chanted. The green beam shot from her wand and struck my barrier. I watched as she brought Seraphim up to the tip of the other wand. As she touched the two tips, the beam thickened and doubled in strength.

The force upon the barrier started to increase drastically. The stone beneath my feet began to crack as the pressure against my shield built. Soon, a crack too formed in my barrier...which means I had to act fast.

I raised the wand in my right hand for the left is in use, maintaining the Aegis barrier. I aimed the wand up at Wynonna, who I could barely see for her beam limited my visibility inside the barrier. With the flick of my wrist, I copied her move.

I flickered from within the barrier, appearing a few feet behind Wynonna on the head of the statue. She heard as I flickered in, but it was too late. As she ceased her spell to turn to face me, I flicked both of my wands at hers.

She was disarmed, both wands forced out of her hands. The wands went soaring off the statue to the streets down below. I quickly aimed my left wand at her neck, putting force on it. As I brought my wand higher in the air, she was lifted off the ground.

She brought her hands up to her throat as she started to choke. “You fought with honor and dignity,” I stated. “But I am afraid, it ends here...” I raised my right wand to her center mass, her eyes grew with terror. “Sola Trapis!”

Her soul was ripped from her body, her hands now dangled by her waist. I slowly lowered my left wand, gently laying her body back down on the head of the statue. As I walked over to her, the wand in my left hand disappeared.

I bent down as I approached her, scooping the council member into my arms. I looked out, in the distance I could see city hall. I flickered from the statue, appearing next to the podium. I laid her body down, folding her arms across her chest.

Before standing, there is but one thing I need to retrieve. I placed the tip of my wand on the edge of where her pointer finger met her right hand. “Sever,” I chanted. The Cleave Spell cut the finger from her hand. I grabbed it and tucked it away in my pocket.

I stood up, aiming the wand at her dress. “I regret that it had to come to this, my sister witch,” I spoke. “Inari...” A bolt of fire shot from my wand, catching her dress aflame. “And from the ashes, you shall rise again...”

I turned, walking toward the stairs. I raised my wand high, “Alarra,” I cast. A giant Phoenix of green flames appeared again. As I reached the stairs, the Phoenix took flight over Wicked City.

Cheers grew from down the stairs, as my followers saw my signal. They knew I was victorious and that Wynonna was no more. I made my way down the stairs, we all regrouping at the bottom. “Back to Goblin Goods,” I commanded. “We have much to celebrate...”
