Chapter 22

TWO DAYS AGO...

Zeus was sitting on his office chair, swinging on it left and right. He had sent a few wolves from his pack to find out why Moon was suffering. But till now, no luck. He had called a few witches into his pack house. He wanted to do everything to pull Moon out of the pain. But he knew nothing about it.

Zeus heard a knock on the door. He looked up and found his beta, Daniel standing. Zeus signalled him to come in. Daniel came in and knelt down on the ground.

Beta Daniel: All the witches have done whatever they could, Alpha Zeus. They couldn't find anything.

Beta Daniel informed Alpha Zeus with a shaky voice.

Alpha Zeus: Then why are they here? They all are useless.

Zeus roared in anger. He stood up and threw the paper weight on the LED screen of his office. Shredded pieces of the LED were on the ground. Beta Daniel got scared but didn't stand up. He knew disrespecting his Alpha would lead him to his grave. Or worst, Alpha Zeus would disown him and he would be nothing but an abandoned dog.

Zeus ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. It had been so long and he wanted a way to help his baby brother.

Beta Daniel: If you ask me Alpha, I know someone who could lead us somewhere. You can get answers there. I kept looking for a better way. Alpha Zeus: Who?

Alpha Zeus asked in a firm voice.

Beta Daniel: My uncle Xanta knows someone who can help you, Alpha. My uncle will take us there.

Alpha Zeus: Then let's go and meet your uncle.

Zeus said and went to the door. Beta Daniel followed him behind. They hopped into Alpha Zeus' truck and drove off. On their way to beta Daniel's uncle, he called his uncle and told him that Alpha Zeus needed his help. Xanta was more than happy to help his Alpha. It was once in a lifetime opportunity. They stopped the truck in front of Xanta's house, he hopped in and they started their journey towards an unknown territory. Xanta gave directions to Alpha Zeus. Alpha Zeus was very shocked to know that he never knew anything about that part of his territory.

Alpha Zeus stopped the truck in front of an old but beautiful small cabin in the middle of the forest. He never had visited this part of the forest ever before. Alpha Zeus knocked at the door. In a few minutes, a very beautiful old woman opened the door. She smiled seeing Zeus in her territory.

Vivian: I read it this morning, today is my lucky day. I didn't know Alpha Zeus would be visiting me. Come on in Alpha.

Vivian said with a wide smile. She led Zeus into the cabin and made him sit on one of the couches.

Vivian: What would you like to have Alpha?

She asked Zeus. He shook his head.

Alpha Zeus: I am not here to have anything. I want some answers and I have heard you can give me.

Vivian: Depends on the questions you are here to ask Alpha. Sometimes, we are bound not to answer. But still I will try my best to lead you towards them.

Alpha Zeus: Who are you? How do you know my name? And how do you even live here?

Vivian: My name is Vivian. I know you since you were born, Alpha. Your mother is a really good friend of mine. And I live here because it's my territory. She replied with a chuckle.

Alpha Zeus: You are not a witch. I know that. What are you?

Alpha Zeus asked suspiciously.

Vivian: You are stronger and smarter than your father. I can see that in your eyes. No, I am not a witch. I'm an enchantress.

Alpha Zeus nodded his head and pulled out the plastic bag from his jacket pocket. He handed it to Vivian.

Alpha Zeus: My brother, Moon. His life is in danger. Something's wrong with him. I want to know what is going on with him?

Vivian pulled everything out of the bag. It had a t-shirt, a pen and watch and a handkerchief. Vivian sniffed the handkerchief and her eyes glowed.

Vivian: What is wrong with him?

Alpha Zeus: He is angry all the time. He can lunge himself at anyone. He would scream at our parents. Except for his girlfriend, he is angry around all of us. He doesn't trust us anymore, he doesn't even let us touch him.

Vivian listened to Zeus careful. She then took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

Alpha Zeus: It all started since his biological parents stepped into his life. Everything was perfectly fine. I don't know what they did to him.

Vivian: Moon's biological parents?

Vivian asked in confusion.

Alpha Zeus: Yes. They came to take him back with them. But he chose to be with us. I will be grateful to his girlfriend Ocean forever. She was the one who made him choose us over his biological parents. Alpha Zeus explained happily.

Vivian: I can't tell you the reason behind it Alpha Zeus but I can tell you that you can find the answers you seek in Pennsylvania. You have to go to the territory of the Redfords. Go and meet Master Vincent Redford. He will answer all of your questions. Take this ring, show it to Vincent and he will invite you. As per Moon's biological parents, you need to be careful Alpha. Because as far as I know, Moon's biological parents are dead. That means whoever came and calmed him as their flesh and blood, were liars. And I don't know what they wanted to do to him.

Vivian gave him a ring with a green stone on it. It was like he was looking into Moon's eyes. It smelled like Moon as well. Like it belonged to him. Zeus took the ring and put it inside his pocket.

Alpha Zeus: What are you saying?

Zeus asked in a shocked tone.

Vivian: I am telling you what I know Alpha. Be careful. Moon is a very special kind in us creatures and Ocean is the center of his world. Keep them both safe. Anything happens to Ocean and you will witness the wrath of the most horrible and undefeatable monster. Moon can get himself out of any kind of trouble but Ocean, anyone can do anything to her. Moon would kill himself if he ever gave her a scratch. Think what he would do to this world if anything happened to Ocean. Keep her safe and well hidden.

Zeus eyes widened in horror knowing that Moon would be devastated without Ocean. He had seen him living in the dark because of her. At that time, he was just a kid. Now he is an adult and more powerful than anyone in Zeus' pack. He can imagine what would happen if Ocean got hurt. He nodded his head and stood up.

Alpha Zeus: Thank you for your help. I will keep that in mind. I will protect her for my brother. I promise you.

He said and exited her cabin. He stepped into the truck, started the engine and drove off.00
