Anya was at Sanctuary Labs, running tests on the new connection with Ishtall. Wes was sat nearby, half asleep in an office chair, with a steaming mug of coffee beside him.

"Do you wish were out there, in the field, with Roisin?" Wes asked. Anya thought for a moment.

"Part of me does, yeah. We owe those four a lot for what happened back at Pyre" Anya nodded. "But at the same time, our expertise required us to be here, which is where we can do the most good" She shrugged.

"I guess" Wes grumbled, as he sipped his coffee. Celeste walked past the office window and waved.

"To be honest, it's kind of strange Celeste wasn't sent out into the field, she's better at combat than all this technical stuff" Anya pointed out.

"Hmm, they might have left her here to aid with city defence I guess" Wes shrugged. "I've never really talked to her, so... I dunno" He added. Anya giggled at Wes.

"You're funny when you're bored" She chuckled.

"I'm bored when I'm bored" He corrected her, as he took another sip of the coffee.

"Then find something to do" Anya smiled.

"Can't be bothered" Wes slouched in his chair.

"Some hero you are" Anya laughed.

"Saving the world can be boring, I guess" He winked, before standing up. "Luckily I have you to make it better" Wes said, before hugging Anya and kissing her on the lips.

"What brought that on?" Anya cheerfully smiled. "Not that I am complaining" She winked.

"I was just thinking..." Wes began.

"Uh oh" Anya joked.

"Very funny" Wes chuckled. "No, I was thinking..." He continued, before getting down on one knee. Anya's eyes widened in surprise.

"I wish to share the rest of my life with you, Anya" Wes grinned as he reached into his pocket to present a ring.

"Wait a second..." Anya smirked. "You planned this!" She grinned.

"Well, yeah, I don't carry expensive rings around with me usually" Wes teased. "So, what do you say?" He smiled.

"Well, of course I say yes" Anya smiled. "Though..." She pondered.

"What is it?" Wes smiled, as he put the ring on Anya's finger.

"Can humans marry... androids?" She asked.

"I'll marry you whether it's the law or not" Wes hugged Anya.

"I know that" Anya nodded. "It's just, being an Android, people look down on you, as lesser..." She sighed. Wes took Anya's hand and looked deep into her eyes.

"I don't care if you're human, android, hubun, elvman or even lacerman. You're you, and I will love you and cherish you until the day I die, fuck what anyone else says" Wes said sternly.

"I know but, people..." Anya began.

"People are stupid, I know" Wes interrupted. "I was born female, I know how judgemental and small-minded some people can be. But ignore them, you have me, and you have all of our friends and family, who love you for being you, and wouldn't have you any other way" He smiled. Anya smiled slightly and nodded.

"You're right, Wes" Anya said, as she stared into his eyes.

"Plus, the Luna family have enough influence here to make it into a law, even if the government wont" Wes comforted Anya. "On top of that, I think Aodhan is a pretty open mind place, especially when it comes to someone who helped lead a resistance to save their lives. Then factor in that a decent amount of Sanctuary's population is Androids, from Disceath" He chuckled. "You have nothing to worry about" Wes smiled, as he brushed the hair from Anya's face.

"We'll be bonded eternally, and nothing will stand in our way" He beamed, before leaning in and kissing Anya. Outside the window a crowd had gathered and cheered, surprising both Anya and Wes.

"Huh?!" Wes' eyes widened, as he noticed Celeste walking in with a bottle of wine and three glasses.

"Finally we have something to celebrate" Celeste chuckled as she placed the glasses down.

"I... uh" Wes scratched his head.

"You two are such a cute couple" Celeste smiled as she poured the drinks. "And since all your friends are away, I thought it'd be a good chance to get to know you both" She grinned as she held out two glasses, one for Wes and one for Anya.

"To Wes and Anya!" She smiled, as they took the glasses.
