~ Hunter ~

“What did I do?” Hunter asked as he notices the blood on his hands.

He look over to Lucy’s arm wound that was leaking red. Oh, god did I inflict that pain!?

Lucy gave him the widening smile, “Well, you save me so that is one thing you did.”

“What happened?” He asked, turning towards the sink to scrub his bloody hands until his hands burn from the loss of skin.

“I was coming to Ella’s castle to well um…to see you. I needed some advice, but the witchy twins found me first.”

Hunter’s face twist into anger as his eyes repeatedly flash from Hazel to Red. “You are awake.”

“Yeah… we just talk about that,” Lucy replied, shooting him a questionable look. “Are you ok?”

“No, I was sucked into the darkness again, Hunter sighed as he stared at the mess of broken potion bottles; behind him in horror.

“Ugh, why does my dark self break stuff every time.”

Lucy laughed, “I don’t know, but I will help you clean up later.”

“You are way too nice… I remember everything now I am so sorry Lucy that I hu—”

She interrupted, “Hunter, it’s okay that is all over now.”

“But I hurt you.”

“Stop that, you couldn’t control your actions,” She stated as she notices him getting up, “Um, Hunter, I kind of need help cleaning and patching up my wounds.”

“I will get Ella I—I don’t trust myself around you right now,” He replied reaching the door.

“I don’t want Ella’s help, I want yours, I trust you,” She smiled as she tried to climb off the bed.

“Don’t force yourself to get up. I am coming back,” He said, bringing a chair over to the side of the bed.

“Wow, I must have you wrapped around my finger,” She laughed.

You got no idea. “So, you said you were coming to see me for advice, so what do you need advice on?” He asked as he started to clean her wounds.

“Well…Rose and I got in a fight, it’s a long story, anyway she told me to drop it but my stubborn ass doesn’t care. I want to learn stronger spells, so I can protect her like I been…But am I being a bad friend going against her wishes even though I have good intentions?” She asked, wincing as she pulled her arm away.

“Sorry, I really screw up your wound when I allow the darkness to take over,” He said massaging Lucy’s arm.

“It’s not like you cause the wound in the first place, so stop thinking that my pain is because of you, but if you force gross potions down my throat again I’m going to kick you in the balls.”

“Jeez, anyway I don’t think you are being a bad friend by wanting to keep Rose safe. We all go against the wishes of the ones we love to protect them it’s just human nature.”

“Wow, you are so much more than a dork,” She laughed, chugging a water bottle.

“Rude.”

“I’m kidding…actually even though we pretty much just met. I like talking to you and spending time with you. Let’s just stop spending time together fighting witches,” She confessed as her face turned red.

“Lucy I—I can I—” He stuttered, placing his’s hand on her cheek.

Come on ask her you, idiot. “I do too… can I have you turn your head so I can see how deep your cut is on your throat?” You dumbass.

“Uh, sure is that all you wanted to ask me?” She asked watching him.

“Yup,” He replied too quickly.

“Oh, ok…”

“Um, I need more washcloths I would be right back,” He squeaked, bolting out of the conversation.

💖

“Whoa, lover boy what is wrong you look like crap?”

“What! I do SHIT!” Hunter shouted, running his hands through his hair.

“I’m messing with you,” Ella said as she sipped her tea.

“Ella! This is serious I wanted to kiss Lucy!” He announced with a glowing face.

“And why is that a problem?” She asked.

“Because…well…um we only just met and we got a war to focus on.”

“It’s been three days and I’ve never seen you freak out over someone like that until today with Lucy, also you need to let your walls down, and allow love back in Cuz. Also, about Lucy did you just pull a Hunter where you just rush out, before you embarrass yourself more?”

“Shit! She is in pain and I freaked out and ran away without any explanation except that I needed more washcloths.”

“Well, you better get back to your princess then,” Ella said, shoving Him back into the hallway.

“Oh, by the way, I have to go into town for a last-minute meeting. Stay out of trouble.”

💖

“Sorry about that I forgot there were washcloths in here already, also I know some helpful spells that aren’t too dangerous for a beginner, but no training until you allow your body to heal,” He said as he bandaged Lucy’s stomach.

“Really, thanks!” She smiled through a groan.

“Anytime, we are almost done some of your wounds just need extra patching up.”

“I don’t like the sound of that.” She replied.

“Yeah, Your throat and arm are going to need stitches. The wounds are too deep to just be wrapped.” He replied with a needle in his hand.

“No, not necessary I’m fine see,” Lucy answered as she tried to form a bright smile, while placing pressure on her rip-open arm.

“OW—I mean W—OW it feels so much better,” She said through clenched teeth.

“I heard you say ow.”

“No, I said wow.”

“Come on we have to do stitches or your wounds are going to get infected.” He suggested.

“Um…yeah, but can you give me a potion that will put me back asleep please?”

“No, sorry we don’t have any more potions right now, thanks to me.”

“Then just punched me and knock me out, before you do them.” She suggested, calmly.

“I am not going to knock you out, Lucy.”

But, I’m terrified of needles or anything that has to do with surgery, also I’m pretty sure that you aren’t supposed to be awake when you’re getting stitches.”

“Sometimes, but you’re going to be ok, it’s just a little pinch.”

“Have you ever done stitches before?” She asked watching him pull out more materials.

“Not really, so I am going to need you to be calm and let me help you.”

“Wait! You are going to stick a pointy needle into my skin and you never did this before?!” She yelled.

“Well, I did them once on myself when my leg got sliced open, and I think I did good since I am still walking, also you said you trust me.”

“Yeah I do, but I don’t think I trust you enough to put a needle in me…”

“It is going to be ok, I promise,” He guaranteed as he held her hand.

“O—ok.”

“Ok, here we go,” He said, placing the needle into her arm.

“Ouch!” She yelped.

“Sorry, almost done.”

He quickly stitched her arm up and wrapped it up. “See all done, it wasn’t that bad right?”

“ Are you crying?” He asked, noticing how puffy her eyes were.

“No, I don’t know what you are talking about,” She replied wiping her face with her ruined sleeve.

“I’m sorry did I do it too fast?”

“No, it’s fine…thanks.”

“Your welcome.”

“You are going to hate me, but now I need to do your throat,” He pointed out, grabbing another needle.

“Wait, what I thought you were kidding… I don’t think that is necessary.”

“It is necessary, most people with your kind of wound most likely don’t survive, but since you have Gemanina blood in your system your wound isn’t infected yet I believed. I don’t know Ella is better at these explanations, but the cut is still too deep so we need to stitch it up, before it gets worse.”

“I don’t like this,” Lucy admitted.

Hunter laughed, “I know but your cut is only on the side, so it shouldn’t take too long.”

“Uh, just do it before I chicken out,” She said as He gently pushed her chin up.

“That’s the spirit now turn your head and try to keep your chin up.”

“Um…Hunter, I don’t think this is a great idea,” She stated hesitantly.

“Well, too late the needle is in already.”

She felt her windpipe get tighter, struggling to allow air through her lungs.

“What’s wrong?!” He asked, hearing her catch her breath.

“Stop! Get it out!”

He quickly ripped the needle out.

“But it is going to get infected if we don’t stitch it up soon.”

“I will do it quickly.”

“No, if you rush it you are going to mess up. Just stop were not stitching up my throat.” She stated.

“Yes, we are it is going to get infected if we don’t.”

“Hunter, it is my throat and I say we don’t so we don’t.”

He held up the needle getting ready to start again.

“If you put that in my throat I will slap you.”

“Well, if you slap me you are just going to hurt yourself more.”

“I will still slap you.”

He carefully put the needle in her throat again.

She went to slap him, but he was right she just ended up hurting herself trying to.

“See you are just hurting yourself relax you are still healing.”

“Oh, shut up,” She said, falling into a coughing fit.

“Not again, hold on I am almost done,” He said starting the last row of stitches.

“No, g-g-et it out!”

“GET IT OUT!” She yelled grabbing his’s arm.

“Hold on I am almost done.”

Her eyes turned Red as she ripped the needle away.

“Lu—

Hunter didn’t get to finish his sentence as she somehow got her strength back and threw him out of his’s chair.

“Lucy?” He questioned, getting up.

💖

“Is something wrong Hunter?” Lucy asked, hovering over him.

“Snap out of it. I hate the witches too but losing control of yourself isn’t the way to do this.”

“The revenge it is promising me is intoxicating.”

“I know it always seems amazing until we see the damage we cause.”

“Unlike you, I can control myself.”

“No, you can’t; great even your dark self is stubborn.”

Lucy’s voice sound all wrong it was dark and scratchy.

“Lucy listen to me—

“Stop it.” The voice snarled cutting Hunter off, and slamming him against the brick.

“Ugh, can you please stop using the wall,” He groaned.

“Shut up!” She screamed, tightening her grip.

“Well, that was rude.”

“Do you like games?” She formed a sly smile, jamming her nails into his shoulder, hard enough to draw blood.

“Not the kind you are thinking about.”

“Well, who cares…Let’s play a game called practice dummy. You and your friends are the dummies, sound fun right,” Lucy laughed, “Let’s see how should we begin, hmm, knives or arrows.” She said with a crazed look as she pinned him by the wrist with one hand. While she slammed her newly stitched arm against the wall.

“LUCY FIGHT IT!” He shouted as he saw the bruise forming on her arm.

“Hunter?”

Her eyes blink back to ice blue

“Lucy is that the real you?”

“Think again Prince!”

She growled as her eyes went red again.

“Lucy fight it! I know you can,” He said trying to twist out of her grip.

How the hell did she get her strength back already?

“She is gone only her dark side is here!” She growled while, ropes grew out of the bricks.

“What? How? Lucy doesn’t know those types of spells yet,” He said, while he tried to pull away from the rope.

“Well, I am not Lucy and I can do whatever I want,” She said, forming a purple flame in her palm.

“Anyway, shall we get Ella to join the fun?”

“Sorry, she isn’t here looks like you can’t continue your sick game with getting to me by using Ella.”

“Your wrong I still can. I know someone else you love even more than your cousin.”

“What—”

“I know who you love more than Ella, and we both know it’s me your crush. Well, the original Lucy.”

“What…no we’re just friends.” I don’t know what we are. I don’t even know if she would have kissed me back when we were on our mini “date?”

“Really, because I don’t think you saved any of your other friends as many times that you saved Lucy or cried over as much as you do with dear Lucy here.”

“Well, I did promise the Queens of Lovenina that I will keep the princesses safe.”

“Stop lying to yourself Hunter you are in love with Lucy!”

“N—o, we are just friends.”

“Oh, do you think about asking all your friends if you can kiss them or just Lucy?”

“I—I—”

“See you can’t hide anything from me. I can read yours and Lucy’s thoughts...hmm before I kill her to have full control would you like to know what Lucy thinks about you if she loves you back?” She asked, scrapping her nails against his’s collarbone.

“I rather wait for her to come back and tell me herself,” He said, focusing on burning the rope.

“What a shame guess you will never know, welp, oh well now you are in the front row for the show.”

“Lucy, please fight it before you do something!” He yelled as he lit the rope.

Dark Lucy flash him a smile as she slowly jammed a knife into her stomach.

“AAAH, WHAT AM I DOING!” She screamed as her eyes flicked back to normal.

“No!” Hunter yelled, going for the knife.

“See I told you that you love her!” Lucy roared, shoving him to the ground.

“You don’t know anything!” Hunter shouted as he overpowered and pinned her to the ground.

“Really? Because I know you wouldn’t hurt her.”

“YOU’RE NOT HER!”

“Oh, that is where you are wrong Prince… she said, looking up and smiling at him, “I thought you would know this, whatever I will educate you. When your dark version is made by a nightmare memory that the host can’t forget we are forever a part of the original. so, if you hurt me all you will do is hurt the real Lucy. Oh, about her she is fighting to speak.”

“Hunter it hurt,” Lucy groaned as her eyes flick ice blue.

“I know it does, but you have to keep fighting it. Before you hurt yourself more,” he said, unpinning her.

“I can’t I’m not strong enough,” she sobs, grabbing his hand.

“Oh, poor me, she isn’t strong enough,” Dark Lucy mocked as her eyes turned red as she pinned him to the ground, “She is your weakness don’t let your guard down again.”

“Now let’s see Hunter what should I do next…maybe the arms?” she asked, cackling.

“Stop!”

I couldn’t control myself; I jammed the blood soak knife into my left arm and ripped it out, back in.

“In and out, in and out isn’t this fun?” Lucy asked turning around to face the teen on the floor.

“Lucy has a different definition of fun.” He wheezed.

“The normal Lucy was so boring,” Dark Lucy stated, abandoning the knife as she watched the blood leak out of the fresh wounds.

“Lucy, stop thinking about the witches if you stop focusing on them it would be easier to gain control back,” He said as the room finally stop spinning.

“She is lost in it; she can’t stop thinking about how much the witches had hurt her.”

“Now how about this throat again!”

“No don’t fight it!” He yelled getting on his wobbly feet, and grabbing her wrist, forcing her hands away from her neck.

“Sorry” for messing these up,” She said pulling at the stitches Hunter didn’t finish.

What is wrong with me!?

Her eyes glowed ice blue again.

“H—unter, what is happening?” Lucy asked, wheezing.

“Lucy! Wait your choking wasn’t from the needle it was you trying to fight the darkness; before it took control and you are trying again.”

Her eyes grew red as she grabbed Hunter by the collar of his shirt, “Don’t you help her she is gone!”

“No, the sweet, but stubborn Lucy is in there!”

“No, she isn’t!” Lucy growled as her eyes repeatedly flick from Ice blue to red.

“Hunter I can’t control it,” she spits out.

“Yes, you can you are fighting it. You are using almost all your mana to fight for control, that is why you keep feeling like your choking. Dark magic is extremely dangerous because to win against it you usually end up getting hurt in the process, however, you also gain your sense back—”

“What did I tell you about helping her!” She said flinging him into the wall.

“Ugh the wall again really, also I don’t listen, and you know that Lucy,” He groaned.

“AAAH!” She screamed as Dark Lucy jammed the knife back in her stomach.

“I’m sorry about this,” He apologized pulling the knife from Lucy’s stomach.

“DAMN YOU!”

“Hey, it works if I pulled the knife out before you do the real Lucy can fight back, so I am going to need this,” He said pulling out another knife.

“AAAH! Hunter stop I can feel that.”

“Yeah, Prince stop it you are hurting the sweet, light Lucy,” Lucy said as her eyes went red as she struggled to stand.

“I’m sorry Lucy but it’s the only way to help you gain your control back.”

“Well, look what you did to your sweet Lucy,” she said as her knees buckled.

She slammed a fist into his gut, before falling to the ground.

“Ugh…” He groaned crashing to the ground.

Hunter looked at Dark Lucy and noticed that her face was slowly losing color.

“LUCY STOP! YOU DON’T HAVE TO USE ALL YOUR MANA ANYMORE!”

“Well back to our game,” she announces, holding a knife to her throat.

“NO DON’T!” He shouted, tackling her.

“Excuse me, Prince, I was trying to have fun with your little Lucy,” she snarled, grabbing the knife from the ground.

“NO!” He pushed her to the floor and fought for control of the weapon, “Lucy, stop come back to me!”

“OH, SHUT UP!” She growled shoving Him off, causing the knife to slip from her hand.

They both stared at the weapon that slid to the other side of the room.

“What are you going to do now,” He said out of breath as he pinned Dark Lucy under him.

“You think you had won Prince.”

“Well, I’m on top of you and you lost your weapon, so yeah I do.”

“You only won because my control on the Princess is fading.”

“I knew it she was strong enough to gain back control.”

“That is where you are wrong my control only decreased, because poor Lucy couldn’t handle the amount of darkness that is consuming her and what is already inside fighting for control.”

“You don’t know her…”

“Really, this again I am her and I can feel the dark, powerful magic that is hidden deep inside her…oh also you didn’t win you forgot about something else.”

“What…”

“Your dear Lucy had lost a lot of blood so the game isn’t fun anymore without the host present, so until next time bye, bye,” Dark Lucy explained as her eyes glowed ice blue; before they slam shut.

💖

“Hunter?” Lucy questioned as she saw him asleep in a chair in the corner of the room.

“HUNTER!”

“Lucy?”

“Wait…Lucy finally,” He said stumbling out of his’s chair to hug her, “You are finally awake.”

“What do you mean finally, I thought I just took a nap after I fainted?”

“Uh—Lucy that was four days ago.”

“O-oh wow,” She replied, noticing she was in clean clothes and her wounds were slowly healing.

“Yeah…”

“Well, if it been that long I probably got all my energy back let’s go start the training you promise me.”

“No, Ella is stuck in boring meetings in town so you and I are going to have a break day,” he said as he handed her a glass of water.

“But…”

“No buts you got seriously hurt on the same day you need to rest we can start training after.”

“I need to give the witches a taste of their own medicine now!” She demand as her eyes went red.

“NO!” He shouted, slapping her.

“OW! What was that for?” She asked, rubbing her cheek.

“Sorry, your eyes were changing you were allowing the darkness back in.”

“So, you slap me you know you could have been like, oh I don’t know maybe like “hey Lucy stop you are letting the darkness in.”

“I try that it doesn’t work you are tough to deal with.”

“Isn’t that the truth, welp anyway off to training.” She jumped out of the bed and started to walk into the hallway.

“Nope break day,” he said, putting her over his shoulder.

“You are no fun,” she pout as he carry her into the living room, and placed her on the sofa.

“I will remember that be right back I’m going to go grab chips for us.”

💖

“Your chips milady,” He announced, bowing while he handed her the chip bowl.

“Milady, wow aren’t you something,” Lucy laughed as she bowed back.

“Thank you,” He said as he sat down.

“Oh no I wasn’t giving you a compliment,” she pointed out sitting back down.

“Oh “sure” you weren’t.”

💖

She slowly started to fall asleep on one side of the sofa until she felt an arm around her head.

“Let me sleep,” she mumbled shoving his arm off.

“Oh, I didn’t know I was doing that,” He said as his cheek grew red.

“Sure” you didn’t, now let me sleep,” She demand as she started to shut her eyes again.

“But… you have been asleep for four days.”

“True but I am just resting now as you told me to.” She answers between yawns.

“Wow, you are actually listening to me.”

“Don’t get used to it also next time you are napping I am going to be this annoying.”

“I will love that,” He smiled.

💖

Hunter let Lucy nap for a few minutes before he messes with her again.

He slowly started to get closer to the side she was on.

“Hey, get off my side,” she mumbled in her sleep as she felt the sofa cushion sink with the added weight.

“You’re a pain.”

Lucy Rubbed her eyes moving away from him.

BAM!

“Yikes are you ok?” He asked, holding in laughter.

“Yeah, I like the floor more than you.”

“Ow! That hurt, but I know you didn’t mean it,” He said pulling her up.

“You wish.”

“Anyway, thanks for the break day it is nice to lounge around without witches attacking. But I have to go back to the real world and check on Rose, also thank you for everything,” she said while grabbing what is left of her coat, and heading for the door.

“Hold on I’m not letting you walk to the portal station by yourself,” Hunter said opening the door for her.

“I will be fine.”

“Nope, if I wasn’t so drained I would just teleport you, however, this way I can make sure you don’t run into the twins again.”

“Ok lead the way.”

Hunter and Lucy arrived at the busy, crowded stations where portals to different realms and kingdoms are opened 24/7 by warlocks.

“I been meaning to asked what kingdoms are the warlocks from?” Lucy asked as they walk around the different doorways.

“They are all over the place in Geminina, technically a warlock is just a different name for witches. A lot of magic users citizens gave themselves the name, Since the witches went power crazy when Raven show up, and promise them unpromising, unsafe powers ups if they join him. Here we go,” He pointed to a gold portal that had a glowing sign above it, that read Europe, “Just make sure you go through the Paris one after this one.”

“Got it, good night, see you tomorrow for training.”

“You bet good night,” He said watching her step through the glowing doorway.

💖

I stared at Rose’s door as I thought about knocking…but I didn’t…

“She is probably reading I will just see her in the morning.”
