Chapter 22~Soulmates and Reconnecting

The dining room was quiet other than the sounds of knives hitting plates and the occasional laughter coming from Kim as she and Alex told each other stories.

'So what other powers do I have?' Phoenix asked mind linking her wolf. Her wolf smirked as an idea formed into her head. She released one of Phoenix's powers and Phoenix gasped audibly. The room silenced as everybody looked at Phoenix. She had a distant look on her face as she stared seemingly into space.

'Take a deep breath and focus.' Her wolf said softly. Phoenix did as asked as she blinked out of it. She slowly looked around the room and frowned as she saw red lines. The lines connected Kim and Alex, and Luca and Kenzie. Phoenix perked up a little as she noticed a line connecting Maleficent and Lucifer.

'Are these mate bonds?' She asked her wolf curiously.

'Something like that.' Her wolf responded casually.

'You know all I wanted was for you to tell me what my powers were.' Phoenix said rolling her eyes.

'Yeah, I know.' Her wolf teased.

"Are you okay Nix?" Alex asked breaking her out of her thoughts.

"Yeah." She mumbled nodding her head.

'Wait. If I can see mate bonds and there's a line for Lucifer and Maleficent-'

'They're mates.' Her wolf finished for her.

'Well am I supposed to say something or do they just kind of figure it out on their own?' Phoenix asked curiously.

'No, they find out on their own. Look.' Her wolf responded. Phoenix slowly looked between Mal and Lucifer and bit back a smile as she realized that they were sneaking glances at each other.

"So why did you bring me back to life?" Maleficent asked directing her gaze towards Phoenix. Phoenix tensed at the question not really knowing how to respond. She looked at Peter but he kept a blank expression on his face making it clear he wasn't going to be of any help. Maleficent looked between the two of them skeptically and chuckled.

"Did you sleep with her?" Maleficent asked before Phoenix could say anything. The whole room froze and Phoenix took a deep breath.

"I see the way she looks at you and she saved you back there." Maleficent continued.

"I didn't sleep with him." Phoenix said before she could stop herself.

'Technically you did.' Her wolf said making Phoenix blush deeply.

"Then why are you blushing?" Mal asked cocking an eyebrow.

"And why would you bring me back to life?" She added crossing her arms over her chest. She looked at Peter and frowned in disappointment.

"What would Kat think?" She whispered.

"Kat would like to know why her best friend slept with her boyfriend." Phoenix said before she could stop herself. The room froze and everybody held their breaths. Maleficent chuckled coldly and slowly turned to face Phoenix with her green eyes showing.

"What made you think you could say her name?" Maleficent asked cocking her head to the side in curiosity.

"Excuse me?" Phoenix asked slowly losing her patience.

"Phoenix." Mateo warned. She waved her hand taking his voice as she kept her eyes on Maleficent.

"Nix your eyes are turning white." Kenzie said trying to calm her down.

"I asked what made you think you could say her name. You sleep with Peter and you think you get an all-access pass to our lives?" Maleficent asked twirling her knife on the table. Peter opened his mouth to speak and Mal snapped her fingers taking his voice. If they both took a minute to talk they probably would've realized they were way too much like each other.

"I didn't sleep with Peter." Phoenix growled balling her hands into fist.

'Calm down-' Phoenix blocked off her mind link ignoring her wolf's warning. Everybody blinked and Maleficent was standing in front of Phoenix.

"You sure? Looks to me like you'll sleep with any and everybody. Or did you already forget about you and Lucifer?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest.

"You are such an ungrateful bitch. I was drained and yet I still brought your dumb ass back to life." Phoenix bit back. Maleficent chuckled again but instead of responding she launched her fist at Phoenix's face. If anybody in the room had their voice, they'd all gasp. Phoenix's head turned to the side on impact and her eyes turned to a solid white. The boys stood up but before any of them could get to the girls they were throwing punches at each other. Mateo reached for Phoenix only for a force to throw him back. Peter tried and the same thing happened to him. Everybody watched helplessly as the two took out their frustrations on each other but it was clear neither of them was actually going to win. If they knew they didn't care, they healed faster than they bruised anyways. Phoenix kicked Maleficent in her chest causing her to go flying into a wall. Maleficent repaid that with her own kick sending Phoenix crashing on top of the table. Lucifer rolled his eyes and stood up before flicking his wrist and effortlessly separating the two. He waved his hand giving everybody their voices back and rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"You-just say thank you. She literally brought you back from the dead." Lucifer said looking at Maleficent.

"And you stop acting like a brat and tell her." He said rolling his eyes. Neither of them made a move to speak but kept their glares on him. Truth be told they could've easily overpowered him but neither truly wanted to.

"Fine. Maleficent, this is Katarina she brought you back to life because you are her best friend." Lucifer said breaking the silence. Maleficent stared at him wide-eyed before slowly looking over at Phoenix. She opened her mouth to argue but nothing would come out. Everything was starting to fall into place but she didn't want to believe it-not yet anyways. She looked at Peter and he nodded his head, signaling that it was true. Her eyes filled with tears and she slowly looked back at Phoenix.

"Kat?" She whispered. Lucifer broke his hold on the two and watched cautiously as Maleficent walked up to Phoenix. She took her face in her hands and looked between her eyes like she was trying to read them.

"Kat." She repeated before wrapping her arms around Phoenix and breaking into tears. Phoenix smiled sadly and hugged her back.

"I'm sorry what's going on?" Noah asked speaking up for the first time. Mateo gestured for him to follow behind him. Noah got up with Liam and his parents before following Mateo out of the room where he'd explain everything they missed. Lucifer stepped out of the room knowing a conversation that had nothing to do with him was about to occur. Luca stood up from his seat and basically dragged Kenzie out of the room leaving Peter, Maleficent, and Phoenix.

Hiiiiiiiiiii. I've missed you guys sooo much you don't understand. I'm sorry I take so long to update (school) but I have a three day weekend coming up so I'll be doing my best to update again soon.
