Chapter 9~Maleficeint

“Peter?” A female voice asked. I could hear heels clicking against the floor like she was walking towards us.

“Close your eyes.” Peter mouthed. I did as asked, pretending to still be unconscious.

“Peter, my husband came to me complaining about your work. He said you’re moving too slow.” The lady said stopping a few feet away from me.

“As I told the king she’s not easy to break but I’m not done.” He responded with a clipped tone.

“Have you had any problems? He thinks you're distracted.” She mumbled ignoring his obvious annoyance.

“Distractions?” He asked, confused.

“Come on Peter I don’t have time for games. For one she’s gorgeous and that’s just with her eyes closed and two she’s powerful, I mean the raw power coming from her is-intoxicating.” She said seductively. I felt the sudden urge to open my eyes and look at her but I swallowed it down.

“Meaning?” He asked sharply. I could basically hear maleficent rolling her eyes.

"Meaning I’d understand if sometimes you got the sudden urge to reach out and-touch her.” She said softly. As if to prove her point I felt a warm hand caress my cheek and another one-touch my bare thigh. A finger started to slowly rise up my thigh and I bit back the urge to tense.

“Stop touching her.” Peter growled protectively.

“Why?” She teased, the smirk evident in her voice.

“You might wake her.” He said trying to calm down.I felt the finger go higher and I silently begged for Peter to say something.

“Real reason.” She said softly.

“I’ve never touched her.” He said through clenched teeth.

“I believe you.” She said before taking her hands off of me.

“I’m sorry.” She mumbled and it was clear her back was to me. I slowly opened my eyes to confirm my suspicions. Her back was to me and her arms were wrapped securely around Peter’s neck.

“I need to see if the memories are working.” He said attempting to take a step back. Her grip on him tightened and she took a closer step to him pressing their bodies against each other.

“You’re different.” She said softly.

“I am?” He responded trying to keep his eyes on her. I watched as she stepped on her tippy toes and pressed her lips firmly against his. He looked up at me and gave me an apologetic look which I ignored. I closed my eyes and took a quiet deep breath.

“I’ll see you later.” She said seductively. I relaxed as I heard her leave the room.

“She’s gone.” He said softly. I ignored him and slowly opened my eyes to look down at what I was wearing. I still had on the stupid dress that I switched with Kenzie.

“Where are the others?” I asked, keeping my eyes down.

“The dungeon they were captured after I took you and Hades.” He answered calmly.

“This isn’t the dungeon?” I asked curiously.

“No. This is the torture room.” He said softly. I slowly looked up at him to see he wasn’t lying.

“You're supposed to torture me?” I asked wide-eyed.

“Only as a last option.” He said frowning.

“If I tell you why we’re here will you let us go?” I asked softly.

“Depends.” He said crossing his arms over his chest.

“On what?” I asked, rolling my eyes.

“If it’s an inconvenience to Mal.” He said smiling. I fought the urge to reach out and touch him and took a deep breath.

“Are you guys close or something?” I mumbled looking at the ground again.

“Or something.” He said, the smirk evident in his voice.

“What I was seeing was real?” I asked softly.

“What’d you see?” He asked curiously. I released a shaky breath before telling him about me and Hades.

“It wasn’t real. The most the two of you did was kiss.” He said making me relax.

“We’re not here for anything that has to do with Maleficent or her husband or you.” I said looking up at him.

“I need something more than that.” He said frowning.

“What if we get a chaperone or something.” I pleaded.

“I’ll ask.” He said nodding his head.

“Thank you.” I said softly.

“I’ll be back.” He said before he started to walk away.

“Wait.” I said making him freeze. He turned to look at me and frowned.

“Can you take me to the others? Please.” I pleaded. He started to say no and I bit my lip to hold my tears in.

“Okay.” He said nodding. He walked up to me and unchained me. I started to fall and he caught me in his arms.

“I’m sorry.” I said trying to stand.

“It’s okay. You’ve been strapped down for a week.” He said helping me stand up straight. He wrapped one of my arms around his neck and one of his arms around his waist. The hall was beyond dark but Peter walked through it effortlessly. The halls were long and by the time we were halfway there I had regained feeling in my legs and was walking on my own. We walked up to a door and he put his hand on it before whispering something underneath his breath. I heard a click like a lock unlocking and the door opened. He gestured for me to step inside and I looked at him warily before cautiously stepping in. Lucifer was sitting in a chair in the corner of the room with a bored expression on his face. It quickly turned into confusion when he saw me. My eyes shifted to Kenzie who was sitting on the floor with Luca’s arms wrapped securely around her. Alex and Kim were sitting on the bed talking about something.

“What are you doing here?” He asked meeting me halfway.

“I wanted to see you guys.” I said looking him over. He didn’t have any bruises on him but the dried blood on his shirt revealed that he did at some point. The others looked up at the sound of my voice and I gave them a weak smile.

“I’ll be back to get you later. I’m going to go talk to Mal.” He said before closing the door. The room turned pitch black and I snapped my fingers. A ball of light appeared and it floated to the middle of the room.

“You still have your powers?” Lucifer asked, frowning.

“Just a little.Not enough to get us out of here.” I said taking a step back from him. The dream or fake memories felt too real and I could barely look at him or Mateo.

“What have they been doing to you guys?” I asked looking around the room. I frowned as I realized Jocelyn wasn’t in the room but I quickly shrugged it off.

“They take us out one by one and torture us to find out what we’re doing here.” Lucifer said nonchalantly.

“What?” I asked turning to look at him.

“What have they been doing to you?” He asked, crossing his arms over his chest.

“I-” I cut myself off as I thought about telling them.

“I’m sorry about what I said when we were in the bar.” Kenzie said standing up.

“It’s okay.” I said giving her a small smile. She smiled and ran up to me before wrapping her arms around me in a hug.

“So what did they do to you?” She asked as we pulled away from each other. The coldness of the room began sinking in and I wrapped my arms around my body.

“They just put memories in my head.” I said vaguely.

“What do you mean?” Alex asked suddenly behind me. He wrapped his arms around me to keep me warm and we both tensed at the contact. I relaxed into him and turned to face him before burying my face in his chest. I wrapped my arms around his waist and he relaxed. I took a deep breath before explaining everything to them.

“I told you I wouldn’t just bloody kiss her.” Lucifer growled looking at Mateo.

“Cupid as in the baby in diapers with a bow?” Mateo asked, ignoring Lucifer.

“I guess but he said he was the bartender so I guess it was just in the drinks.” I said shrugging.

“So what your saying is Cupid drugged you?” Kim said. My face blushed as I realized she was in the room and I nodded my head before pulling away from Alex. He frowned at me and I looked between him and Kim. His frown deepened but he went back to Kim’s side.

“What did they put in your head?” Lucifer asked with a smirk. I went to the wall closest to me and slid down it so I was sitting on the floor. I put my head on my knees and shook my head.

“It doesn’t matter.” I mumbled.

“Then why won’t you tell us?” Luca asked. Tears sprung to my eyes and I took a shaky breath before telling them everything. The door opened and Peter stepped inside.

“We gotta go.” He said looking down at me.

“What’s going on?” I asked standing up.

“What’s going on is you lied to me. I went to go tell Maleficent what you told me to try and make some type of deal for you guys. I get there and she tells me she was told that you and your friends were sent to kill her. So I start defending you, telling her that’s complete bullshit because I haven’t found a single memory like that considering I can’t just tell her that you’re alive. Then she gestures for the guards and they escort some girl in and she tells me all about how you were her to kill Maleficent and anybody else that got in the way, that you’re the moon goddess’s granddaughter and you felt entitled to the throne. That you weren’t doing anything but using me.” He spat angrily as he kept his eyes on me.

“That’s a lie.” I said shaking my head as I tried desperately to get him to believe me.

“Who told you that?” Lucifer asked from behind me.

“I did.” Jocelyn said stepping into the room with a smirk.
