Marco had certainly seen through everything.

The fact that Frank could access insider information from Zamri City Hall and buy that land ahead of time meant he was someone special.

While Marco finally acknowledged Frank's abilities, Frank chuckled and clapped him on the shoulder. "Alright, alright, I was just messing with you. Your board chairwoman is my wife anyway-my land is basically hers, see?"

"Aha... Hahaha... Of course..." Marco laughed along awkwardly.

By the time Frank and Helen left, his eyes showed profound respect for Frank as he realized Frank was no freeloader.

Still, it made sense-would Helen really fall for some good-for-nothing?

Waving away the other employees who had gathered around him to watch, he barked, "What are you looking at?! Well, now you know better than to complain about Mr. Lawrence not deserving Ms. Lane during your lunchtime gossip!"

"Oh, I didn't expect that... Mr. Lawrence is actually that amazing!"

"I guess it's only right, since I don't think Ms. Lane would just choose some average Joe."

Even as the voices of disapproval subsided, no one in Lanecorp ever doubted Frank again.

At the restaurant a block away, Helen was staring fixedly at Frank, giving him the creeps.

Smiling, he said, "What's with that look? Just say what's on your mind already."

"A-Are you really giving away that land to Lanecorp?"

Was that it?

Frank smiled in wry amusement, since Helen had been staring at him since they left the office.

He actually thought for a moment that Winter Lawrence had ratted him out and felt his conscience gnawing.

Seeing that it was about that plot of land, however, he patted his chest cheerfully. "Of course! What's mine is yours-you can have it!"

"But..." Helen murmured, lowering her head as she blushed, "I called you stupid and whatnot and tried to talk you out of it..."

"Don't worry about it."

Frank chuckled, shrugging innocently. "It's fate that the land fell into my hands. I asked your mom repeatedly, but she refused to take it. Can't refuse money falling out of the sky, can I?" "Oh, you..."

Amused, Helen's lips curled into a bright smile, shaking her head.

That was when two desk jockeys strode through the front door.

They immediately saw Helen beaming, and their eyes were glued to her.

"Oof!"

"Ow!"

Both of them slammed into a table since they were too busy admiring Helen's smile and dropped to the floor right then.

"Heh..." Frank shook his head and snickered as he watched. "Ms. Lane, you beauty is so devastating that I think you should stay home from now on."

"What are you saying?" Helen pouted.

"I mean-eh?"

Before Frank could finish, both his and Helen's phone rang at the same time.

Helen had a call from her secretary Lily, while one of Frank's security team leaders called him.
