Avery

It’s been about two months since we have won the war against the rogues.

Lilly and Tony have been doing just fine.

We’ve only had to take Lilly away from Tony twice. One because a young boy gave her a nice smile, and the other time because Lilly fell when she was playing soccer against some of the little pups here.

Which might I add was pretty entertaining when the boy smiled at her. Tony got all defensive and went off about how some little mutt shouldn’t be looking at his girl and other stuff like that.

But he actually shifted, so I guess it wasn’t all that fun trying to get Tony to shift back. Lilly had to actually threaten Blaze to shift back. About 30 minutes later, a naked Tony was standing in front of us.

And it kind of made it worse, because Lilly wouldn’t talk to him for a couple of hours. Every time she got asked why she wasn’t talking to him, she replied with ‘he shouldn’t have gotten mad just because a guy smiled at me. He was only being nice.’ And that kinda made Tony a little more mad because she was defending the kid.

But I think he finally got over it.

And now Tony is stuck in Lilly’s and Katie’s tea parties. And every time Tony complains, Lilly gets sad and that upsets Blaze.

Blaze said he doesn’t care if he gets put in a dress. He said he would do anything to make Lilly happy. Which I find completely adorable.

“Hey.” I got snapped out of my thoughts when I heard a voice.

I turned to look at the door and I saw Vic and Ashe standing in my door way.

“What’s up?” I asked with a smile.

“Nothing. Just came to see how you have been.” Ashe said as she and Vic took a seat next to me on my bed.

“Pretty good I guess. I still have that bruise on my stomach from when the rogue tackled me.” I said pulling up my shirt a little bit to reveal the gigantic bruise.

Ashe and Vic cringed.

“Maybe we should get you checked out.” Vic said worried.

“Nah.” I said waving them off. “I’ll be fine.”

I tried to sit up, but when I moved, a giant pain went through my body.

“No you’re not. We are going now.” Vic said standing up as Ashe nodded.

I groaned but nodded. “Where is Jake?”

“The boys are at a meeting, so we are on our own.” Ashe said helping me up.

When we got to the car, Ashe decided she would drive because she didn’t want me to hurt myself more. But that was totally okay with me. I was too worried as to why the bruise is stil there.

I wanted to ask Red, but she hasn’t spoken for about two weeks now. I tried to talk to her, but she won’t answer. I know I didn’t lose her because sometimes I can feel her pacing around.

“We’re here.” Ashe said as she put it in park.

We made our way up to our new pack doctor. She is very nice. And I learned that her name is Cameron.

“Hello Luna. Hello Beta Female and our Third Female.” Cameron smiled.

“Yes. Umm Avery has had this bruise on her stomach ever since the fight which was about two months ago. And it hasn’t gone away. Well it did for a little bit, but it came back in the same spot and it’s bigger.” Ashe said to Cameron.

“Hmm.” Cameron hummed. “Let’s get the Luna to the emergency room.”

“It’s just a bruise guys. I’ll be fine.” I said trying to persuade them.

“I don’t think so Luna.” Cameron said bringing me a wheelchair.

“Really. A wheelchair.” I said laughing.

“It’s for precautions Luna.” Cameron laughed.

I sighed nodding and sat down.

“What do you mean you don’t think so?” Vic asked wheeling me down to the emergency room.

“Well sometimes depending on who you are, bruises can last a long time. But for werewolves or fox spirits, we heal pretty quickly. When you said that the Luna has had it since the fight, it makes me very worried. It shouldn’t have been there for that long. Depending on how hard the hit was, I say a week tops.” Cameron said helping me onto the table.

“So what are you saying?” Ashe asked not wanting to hear the answer.

“Well, I’m saying something isn’t right.” She sighed and turned to me. “Luna, can you please lift your shirt up so I can check your stomach?”

I nodded and lifted my shirt.

“Oh my!” Cameron gasped.

“That’s not something I want to hear.” I groaned with a small chuckle.

“That’s a big bruise.” Cameron said astonished.

“That’s what we have been trying to tell her!” Ashe exclaimed.

“I’m gonna touch your stomach and see if I can feel anything. Okay?” Cameron asked putting on gloves. I nodded and she gave me a small reassuring smile. “Let’s see.”

She was slightly pushing around a little until she hit the middle of the bruise.

I felt a weird wave hit me and all of the sudden Red had control.

“Don’t touch me there!” Red growled.

Ashe, Vic, and Cameron all screamed and jumped back.

A second later two male nurse wolves ran into the room.

“What happened?” The one with black hair asked.

“I-I don’t know.” Ashe stammered. “Cameron was looking at Avery’s bruise and pressed down and Red took control.”

“Should we call the alpha?” The one with blonde asked nervously.

Cameron shook her head. “No. I think I know why. You two may go.” She said to the nurses as she got up. Once they nodded, she grabbed something and some jell and sat back down. “Luna?”

Red growled slightly but gave me back control. Although I could feel her at bay.

“I’m very sorry. I don’t know why she did that.” I said apologizing.

“May I ask you a question?” Cameron asked.

“Of course.” I said laying back down. I got a huge headache now.

“When was the last time your fox talked to you?”

“Umm. About two weeks ago. Why?”

“Interesting.” Cameron said. “May I put this jell on your stomach?”

“Umm sure?” I asked unsure on how this will help me.

She seemed really excited as she put the jell on.

“Now this jell will be a little-“

“Oh shit that’s cold.” I laughed.

“Ya that.” Cameron laughed as well.

She took this weird looking instrument type this and clicked on the monitor.

When the monitor was on, she put that weird thing on my stomach and started to move around my bruise.

“Ow.” I cringed when she pressed on the middle of my bruise.

“Sorry Luna.” Cameron said.

She looked back at the monitor and kept moving it around.

A couple minutes later, she stopped and looked at the monitor with a smile.

“What are you smiling about?” I asked nervously.

“Luna. You are having a baby.” Cameron said excitedly.

“I’m what?!” I screamed.

Cameron smiled and pointed to the monitor. “Oh my. Not just one. But two.” She said and turned the monitor towards me. “You’re having twins!”

“We’re gonna be aunts!” Ashe and Vic yelled.

“I’m gonna be a mom?” I asked terrified.

I didn’t know whether I should be happy or not.

After we got back home, I had to go straight to bed.

It turns out the bruise is there because Red was protecting the babies. It was a sign that my body was protecting the babies from whatever hit me. And Cameron said the bruise should go away sometime next month because of how hard I got hit.

Now the hard part….telling Jake.

I didn’t know how he will react. Will he happy? Mad? Sad? Overjoyed? I didn’t know.

Hell…I don’t even know if I’m glad.

Well I mean I guess I am a little because they are my children, but am I truly ready to be a mom?

Lilly and Katie are all excited about being aunts. So now I guess my twins have four aunts.

So I guess that means that they will also have four uncles. These two with be spoiled. Oh Lord I can see it now.

And oh gosh…mood swings.

Am I really ready for those horrific mood swings.

Buuuuut. The plus side is that I won’t have to work. And no period. Yep. Totally love being pregnant.

But I’m excited to meet my children. I guess I truly am happy now.

“Hey.” I screamed when I heard a voice and saw a laughing Jake at the doorway.

“You jerk!” I yelled throwing a pillow.

He was too busy laughing that he didn’t see it coming, and it hit him right in the face.

“Hey! That wasn’t very nice.” Jake laughed.

“Well too bad.” I said and stuck my tongue out.

He stuck his tongue back out at me and laughed.

“So. How have you been?” He asked laying down next to me and pulling me into his arms.

I sighed and snuggled into him. “Umm. Pretty good I guess.”

“You guess?” He asked and kissed the top of my head.

“Ya. The girls took me to the pack doctor.” I said.

“Without me?!” Jake yelled and pulled back a little to look at me.

“Well ya. You were in a meeting.” I said looking at him.

“So! You still could have come and gotten me!”

“Don’t yell at me!” Red growled as I felt my eyes shift.

Jake looked shocked and slowly put his hands up. “Okay. Sorry Red. May I please have Avery back?”

Red growled once more causing Jake to flinch and I felt myself back in control.

Damn that took some energy. This bruise thing is draining me.

“Sorry.” I said laying down.

“Avery. What exactly happened at the pack doctors?” Jake asked worried.

“Umm. Well you see. It’s a funny story actually.” I giggled nervously.

“Avery.” Jake said giving me a pointed look.

“Okay okay.” I said taking a deep breath. “I’m pregnant.”

I watched as Jake took a sharp intake of breath. “What?” He whispered.

“With twins…” I said my voice trailing off.

“Twins?” He asked in a whisper again.

“Yes.” I said nodding.

“Oh my gosh….I’m gonna be a dad?”

“I know you’re upset. That’s fine. I’ll just raise them on my o-” I started to say but Jake cut me off by kissing me.

He pulled back and grabbed my face while smiling. “Why would I be upset? I’m gonna be a dad. And we are having twins. That’s amazing!”

“Really?” I asked with tears.

He nodded and slightly pushed me back so I would lay down.

He lifted up my shirt so he could see my stomach and he gave it a gentle kiss.

“Well hello there.” He started off and I giggled. “It’s your daddy speaking. Probably the greatest alpha in the world might I add.” He laughed as I rolled my eyes. “I just wanted to let both of you know that I am super excited to meet you guys. I will love both of you very much and I’m glad you will be joining this crazy family we have here in this pack. I will take good care of you both. And mommy as well. I love you both and can’t wait to meet you two.” He ended his little speech with another kiss to my stomach.

“Jake.” I said smiling.

“I love you.” Jake said as he rested his forhead against mine.

“I love you more.” I smiled.

“I love you most.” Jake said before he grabbed my face and gave me a kiss.
