"He was in a critical window? How could I not panic?" Sweat soaked Bella's back in a hair-raising moment. "Why didn't you call me? I am his daughter. I should be by his side at a time like this." The tears in Bella's eyes were a gut punch to Justin. He took her shaky hand and held her tight.

Sure, Bella would make fun of Wyatt and act like she did not care about him, but Justin knew she did not want anything to happen to her father.

Asher fixated on Bella's tearful eyes and sighed helplessly. "Dad wouldn't let us tell you."

Bella's heart dropped. "Dad..."

"When he had the stroke, he told Quentin not to inform us, especially not you."

Asher tried to keep his tone flat. "Dad knows that you have your hands full. He just didn't want to bother you with another piece of bad news."

The love of a father was great and silent.

So as not to worry his children, Wyatt gritted his teeth and bore even the most agonizing pain.

With emotions running high, Bella's voice turned hoarse. "Wilma, pack my things. I'm getting back to Hatchbay now."

"Of course, Young Madam," Wilma responded.

"Pack a few sets for me too, Wilma. I'm going with Bella." Furrowing his brows, Justin wrapped his arm around Bella's shoulders.

Bella met Justin's concerned gaze, and her eyes welled up. "I'm sorry. I doubt I can go with you to our Swiss vacation."

"It's okay. Your father's health takes precedence. We can always go on vacation at another time." Justin cupped her face. "There's one more thing."

Asher paused, his expression somber. "Christopher is back."

The air crackled with tension.

The name stood out like a sore thumb.

"His private aircraft landed at Savrow Airport this afternoon."

Justin looked aloof. "Where was Christopher's point of departure, Asher?"

Asher replied, "Meridan."

Surprised, Bella rested her index finger against her chin. "So Christopher didn't go back to Sentania or to Terranova. What was he doing in Meridan? Was it a suitable place to get his mother the treatment she needed? I don't think Christopher has any business connections there."

The mention of treatment reminded Justin of Grant.

Somehow, Justin sensed something was not right.

Asher replied, "Meridan has more advanced medical care and equipment. I heard the country has set up a treatment center just for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Christopher might have gone there for his mother."

Bella scoffed. "I hope so. Let's hope he wasn't up to no good again."

Steven took the wheel of a fancy car, taking the group to Hatchbay.

While on the way, Bella gripped her hands tightly together, her mind elsewhere.

"Don't fret. Dr. Larson is an expert in his field. Your dad will get better." Justin ran his hand behind her back with worry.

Sitting across from them, Asher nodded in agreement.

"Ash, what were the circumstances around Dad's stroke?"

Bella asked solemnly, "It had to be a stressful situation to trigger the stroke."

Asher pursed his lips.

While Asher tried to find the words, Steven blurted out in rage, "It's all Mr. Cameron's fault!"
