Steven held the love of his life in his arms with tearful eyes. "I may be a Lovett, but I no longer have anything to do with that family the moment they were mean to you."

Amelia was moved and worried. "Steve..."

"I no longer have a home."

Though Steven chuckled helplessly, he felt relieved and liberated. "I am still Steven Lovett, but the heir of the Lovetts is dead."

"Who said you don't have a home?"

Furrowing her brows, Amelia put a finger on his lips. "Home is where I am. My family is your family, too."

The moon, shrouded in a haze, hung high in the velvety night sky.

The pair wound up in bed together.

Even so, Steven, covered up in his pajamas, lay stiffly next to Amelia. Neither crossed the line to each other's side of the bed.

Steven inhaled the lingering scent of Amelia's shower gel, his senses overwhelmed by her warmth and the rhythm of her breathing. Steven swallowed hard again.

A fire stirred in his loins.

Though he prided himself on being a restrained gentleman, it was pure torture to lay next to the love of his life all night.

A wave of scent tickled his nose.

Steven opened his eyes to see Amelia straddling him. As she leaned in, the loose shirt slipped past her shoulders and down to her waist.

With his heart beating out of his heart, Steven closed his eyes so as not to violate her with his gaze.

"Open your eyes and look at me." Amelia's lip clung to his ear, and he felt the tingles all over.

He opened his red-rimmed eyes, the sweat in his palms drenching the bedsheets.

"Take me, Steve."

Driven by lust, he cast all reason aside.

Steven rolled over, overpowering her. His raspy voice held a thick presence of raw desire. "Amelia, are you sure?"

Amelia nodded shyly.

"I will never turn my back on you. After tonight, please be my wife."

Love and longing painted Amelia's cheeks rosy, like a flower blooming for him.

"Please take me in forever, Ms. Amelia."

Hot with emotions, Steven addressed Amelia formally and surrendered to her completely. Amelia shivered under him.

Amelia ached for more than a place in Steven's heart.

She yearned to become part of him and find solace in his warmth.
