The young couple wasted no time and rushed to the hospital as fast as they could. As Steven held Amelia's hand and arrived at the entrance of the hospital room, they could hear Hunter yelling inside along with Chelsea's cries.

"Dad! Mom! Look at the state your son has ended up in today... It's all because of Steven. This ungrateful guy takes advantage of our kindness! He's part of the Lovett family and my brother, but did you see what he did in court?! He's working for Justin and Bella, and he even lets them manipulate him like a pawn! He betrayed his own brother for outsiders! Do you know that he's driving me to death?!" Hunter was so angry that he cursed repeatedly. As a once-prestigious lawyer in Savrow, this was a side of him no one could have imagined.

Anger surged through Steven's entire body. His jaw tightened, and his fingers clenched into a fist as he tried to control himself.

Amelia heard everything clearly and quickly squeezed Steven's hand. Her gaze was burning as she stared into his red eyes, subtly shaking her head to signal him to stay calm.

"Dad! You've been working for the Thompson family for most of your life. Now they're making your son do all the hard work, like a donkey. They're using that bastard girl to sow discord among our family!" Hunter's tone was intense and filled with rage. "Since you stepped down, I've worked hard to restore our Lovett family's reputation through the years... But now, Justin and Bella have ruined everything! And Steven, that fool, still has no clue about what's going on and shamelessly associates with the Thompson family. That bitch is just using him! Once she's done with him, he'll be discarded without a second thought! He doesn't even use his brain to think! How could he possibly become Wyatt's son-in-law?!"

Every word and sentence cut deep into Amelia's kind heart. She hung her head in sorrow as she bore the weight of countless hurts and injustices.

Steven's family always appeared to be embroiled in conflict because of her. She really felt like she messed up his once peaceful existence and that she truly served no purpose in his life.

Steven felt like his eyes were about to pop out of his eyes. He couldn't handle it anymore and stormed in in frustration, muttering insults under his breath. "That bastard keeps spouting nonsense!"

Although they were siblings by blood, Hunter had always harbored jealousy toward Steven, who had been more talented since they were kids. As the years went by, Hunter never stopped putting Steven down with obvious and sneaky remarks.

No matter what Steven said, Hunter would always find a way to disagree with him. Whatever Steven wanted to do, Hunter was constantly against it, teasing and making fun of him. Hunter even sanctimoniously used the role of an older brother as an excuse to bully Steven without shame.

Out of consideration for the family bond and to spare their parents from worry, Steven had endured it all for so many years. But now, Hunter dared insult the woman he loved. If Steven continued to endure it, what kind of man would he be?

"Steve! Please don't..." Amelia's heart shrank. She wanted to intervene, but it was already too late to stop him.

The door to the ward slammed open, startling the Lovetts. It was like a shot of adrenaline, instantly clearing their minds and even stopping the crying.

"Hunter! Shut your foul mouth!" Steven stared at Hunter with utmost resentment. Even though Hunter's head was bandaged like a garlic clove, Steven did not find it funny. He was just infuriated.

you even think about bringing up Amelia again, your head won't just suffer a concussion. I'll make sure of it!"

"Is there anything wrong with what I said?!" Hunter's lips twitched, trembling with fear, as he subconsciously looked at his father for help.
