"Just as it was about to leave Savrow and reach the airspace bordering Hatchbay, it exploded!"

"It exploded?!" Bella and Justin's brows furrowed deeply.

"Yes, residents within a dozen kilometers of the area heard a massive explosion."

Ralph took a sharp breath. "The explosion destroyed the helicopter instantly. It seems there are no survivors!"

Justin's heart sank, and his sharp, eagle-like gaze suddenly turned to Christopher.

Immediately after they discovered Maxwell's whereabouts, people went after them to prevent them from stopping Maxwell. Then, Christopher, the troublemaker, appeared again, and the helicopter exploded. It all seemed interconnected, as if Christopher was pulling the strings!

"No survivors... Can we identify the helicopter's owner, then? What about the number of passengers and their identities?" Bella's breath quickened as she inquired.

Ralph turned to her, his head close to hers as he said, "I've dispatched my subordinates to look up the helicopter's details and collected surveillance footage along the route and nearby areas. We should have answers soon."

"I think it's probably just Maxwell."

Justin's handsome face was as frosty as ever, and his voice was strained and hoarse. "Christopher is trying to mess with us. First, with a diversion, and now with this attack! He anticipated from the start that we would discover his purchase of a private jet and use the plane to send Maxwell away. So, his sudden appearance at the airport was to draw attention to himself and provide cover for Maxwell. In fact, he never intended for Maxwell to leave Savrow in his private jet."

"Damn it! This sneaky bastard!" Ryan cursed loudly, hoping Christopher heard it loud and clear.

"N-No."

Bella shut her reddened eyes, anger surging in her chest. "He never intended to let Maxwell leave Savrow alive from the beginning! If I'm not mistaken, he originally intended to transport Maxwell with this private jet. However, we found out about the plane, and Maxwell's whereabouts were exposed, so he prepared another helicopter for them to disappear without a trace!"

The atmosphere fell into a suffocating silence.

This time, they had no choice but to admit that it took constant vigilance to stave off evil.

"Captain Thompson, if you don't need me for the investigation, can I leave now?"

Christopher adjusted his glasses, his cold gaze carrying a hint of amusement. "Rather than wasting time on me, I believe it's better for all if you hurry up and figure out how to deal with the troubles ahead. By now, the news about tonight's helicopter explosion must've flooded the internet. Captain Thompson, shouldn't you contact the station to control public opinion on the matter?"

Seeing Christopher's brazen attitude, Ralph clenched his teeth with an audible grind.

Christopher gave Bella one last meaningful glance before turning to push his mother's wheelchair toward the air bridge.

Just as they were boarding, Ralph received a message from his subordinate.

[We can almost confirm that Maxwell and his associates were on that helicopter. Cameras along the route captured their whereabouts. We have dispatched additional personnel to help out. Our team is currently searching for the wreckage near the explosion scene, and we may receive further updates later.]

Before Ralph could finish his sentence, Bella suddenly turned around.

Despite Justin's attempt to grab hold of her, he was a step too late. "Bella! Where are you going?!"

"Bella! Come back!"

However, Bella did not look back. Instead, she hastened toward Christopher's private jet.
