"A man in a suit?" Rachel was surprised.

"Oh, I remember it now. I thought the man looked rather familiar. He was the young man who came the last time. I beat him with my cane to teach him a lesson. That's the bastard! I bet he's up to no good, sneaking around."

Rachel felt something stirring within. Without changing out of her house slippers, she left home.

In the end, lan could not find the courage to call Rachel.

He was bound to leave in disappointment tonight due to his cowardice.

As he turned away to depart in dejection, a sweet voice cut through him.

"M-Mr. Harris!"

lan looked back and saw Rachel running toward him in her bunny-themed loungewear and a loose bun. The way she looked just took his breath away.

"G-Good evening, Ms. Mead."

He stiffly shoved the flowers and gift to Rachel with a silly look.

"Happy birthday!"

With her heart racing, Rachel took the flowers but refused the gift. Recognizing the brand, she knew the gift was very expensive.

"Thank you for the flowers, Mr. Harris, but the gift is too much."

Rachel said softly and understandingly, "I know you got me the things because I helped. I returned Ms. Thompson's kindness. It was the least I could do. Besides, Ms. Thompson has done far more for me, while I don't know what I can do for Ms. Thompson and Mr. Salvador."

Swept by a wave of emotions, Rachel could not stop the tears from falling.

Unable to stop his feelings anymore, lan tearfully held her in his arms. The empty feeling inside him was gone there and then.

Two hearts beat in unison, nearly crushing the hyacinths that lay between them.

"Mr. Harris..." Rachel called out to him with a blushing face, and lan's heart melted.

"Everything I do has nothing to do with Mr. Salvador or Ms. Thompson."

lan's scorching breath brushed against her ear. Driven by an urge like never before, he held her and could not let go anymore. "Everything I do, I do for you. I missed you, Ms. Mead. That's why I came to see you."

The food and drinks were served. The guests had also arrived.

Justin and Bella's love nest was packed tonight like it was the New Year.

Bella held Carrie while chatting with Steven and Amelia in the living room.

She had also invited Asher and Arnold, but Asher said they could not make it over the phone.

Before Bella hung up, she heard Arnold's sultry voice in the background.

"My back hurts, Ash. Come and give me a good rub."

"Lie down."

Bella's jaw dropped as her mind went down the gutter.

She wondered if Asher simply could not make it to the party or if he just wanted to be alone with a certain somebody.

Ryan did not want to barge into the ladies' conversation, so he went to Justin instead.

He walked into the dining room to find Justin in an apron with his sleeves rolled up. Ryan burst into laughter. "Hahaha! You're domesticated, Justin. You make the perfect house husband." "Are you jealous?" Remaining unfazed in the face of mockery, Justin wiped his hands on the apron.

"Of course not. I have a Michelin-starred chef at home. Why should I put myself through that?" Ryan looked contemptuous.
