At the Thompson Hospital, Bella and Justin quickly rushed over after hearing the news and took care of everything.

Rachel had made it through the critical phase thanks to the timely treatment and was moved to a general ward.

However, lan did not plan on staying put. Once his bones were reattached, he quickly went to check on Rachel's condition.

The situation at the hospital was left in the care of Bella and Justin, while Ralph rushed back to the police station to handle the dangerous criminal who attempted to murder a witness.

At this moment, Dr. Cartman came by to personally conduct an examination on Rachel.

Seeing tears welling up in Bella's almond eyes, Justin felt a tightness in his throat and an ache in his heart as he pulled her into his arms. He whispered comforting words and stroked her back, just wanting to ease her pain and self-blame without even knowing what to say.

lan felt even more helpless. "Young Madam! Ms. Mead and I are both fine. Please... Please don't cry! Your tears make me feel like crying too!"

"I could have done better. I could have protected her." Bella tried hard to hold back her feelings, but a tear still rolled down her radiant face. "I made it easy for the bad guys to take advantage. I feel so stupid!" "If you're stupid, then what am I, an idiot?” Justin said affectionately as he rested his forehead against hers.

Bella replied, "You're not an idiot."

She playfully punched the man's abs and giggled through her tears. "You're a puppy that follows me everywhere."

lan chuckled and dropped his head, a wide smile spreading across his face.

Justin certainly had a way to cheer Bella up.

After Dr. Cartman finished examining Rachel, he sighed distressingly, "This girl looks really frail. Her neck is so thin, and her fingers are like sticks. She definitely seems malnourished. She's all bones." Then he muttered, "Why were her parents so careless?"

Bella and Justin were so sad that they couldn't say a word, while lan's eyes suddenly turned red.

"Look at the bruises on her neck. I think the assassin could have snapped her neck with just a little more force."

Dr. Cartman shook his head sadly and walked away.

Bella clenched her teeth, feeling her rage consume her. "Who else could've hurt Rachel besides the Iversons?!"
