Chapter 35

This was the first time she woke up this early, actually she didn’t sleep at all because her husband was so vulnerable, it was fun observing him. She smiled to herself as she was wrapped in his arms.

Teresa saw him stir up, he slowly opened his eyes and she smiled at him. He immediately let her go and backed away, freaking out, he got up.

“Good morning husband. Feeling better?” she almost laughed when she saw him freaking out, jumping out of the bed. Well he’s going to freak out more when I show him something. She thought grinning ear to ear.

“W-why are y-o-u sm-iling like that?” He stammered.

“Why shouldn’t I? you gave me a big reason to.” she got out of the bed and leaned towards him.

“What are you talking about?” He leaned back trying to get away from her.

“Why are you going back? The whole night you held me so close, I couldn’t even breathe.” Her hands touching her neck, she coughed.

“There’s no way I’d ever do that.” He frowned.

“What? You don’t remember?” Her eyes widened at his words.

“remember what?” He answered with a blank face.

Wow! Did he just say he doesn’t remember? She was angered. But I guess that makes it even better. Let’s punish him for that! She smirked. Now let the fun start.

“Ok I’ll tell you, the whole night you whispered those three magical words in my ear, those were music to my ears. I’ve never been so happy. The great, greater, greatest Ryouma-sama said those words and I thought you can’t ever say that.” She smiled showing her teeth.

“What words?” He looked at her horrified.

“Those 3 words, I was dying to hear them, actually you should get sick once in a while. Next time I’ll treat you to some delicious mouth watering sweets, ’kay?” She laughed, teasing him.

Yes I’ll even pour ice water on him. She let out an evil laugh.

He gulped.

“Wait, I kind of expected you won’t remember and I doubt you’ll ever say them again, you repeated them like a tape recorder so I recorded it in your phone because my phone was cruelly broken by you.” She narrowed her eyes at him.

She takes his phone from the table by the side of the bed and plays the recording. “So here it is,” she laughed as it played, “I’m sorry... I’m sorry... I’m sorry...”

He ran to snatch the phone from her.

“Oh what? No...not yet, there’s more.” She runs around the room playing the recording in her hand.

“Teresa is the most beautiful girl and I am sorry for calling her ugly. She’s the sweetest and cutest girl.”

*Flashback*

“He’s literally choking me.” She tried to loosen his grip but no luck.

“..sorry.” He muttered.

“Huh?” She looked at him but found him sleeping. Sleep talk?

She stared at him for a moment, he is really handsome. She traced his well maintained thick eyebrows with her fingers, He’s got longer lashes than mine, the fact that she was mostly jealous about, she smiled as she continued admiring his face up close.

“I’m sorry, I am really sorry, Teresa.” He muttered again.

“Seriously, you’re saying sorry now?” She laughed. “Looks like he says soryy only when he’s drunk or has a fever.” She muttered.

“Sorry...” He mutters again.

It was fun at first but after a minute, she was now annoyed. “Are you a tape recorder?”

“Oh wait, I’ve got a good idea.” Her eyes twinkled. It’s once in a lifetime opportunity, I’m surely not wasting it!

She tried to get up but he won’t let her. She struggled out of his arms and finally got away. “Where’s my phone?” She searched. Just then, remembered that her phone was mercilessly destroyed by her demon husband. She took his phone and started to record. At first, she only recorder his voice, his sorry chant. But she got another idea, she opened the video recorder.

“So here we go, let’s have an interview with the great, greater, greatest arrogant, rude, monkey demon and also the no.1 business tycoon Mr. Demon/Monkey husband.” She clapped her hands positioning the phone at the side of the bed so that she gets a nice shot.

“So Mr. Demon/Monkey husband kindly repeat those 3 magical words.” She leaned in the bed by his side and poked his cheeks.

“I am sorry.” He muttered.

“For what? Can you please tell us looking at the camera?” She held the phone close to his face.

“I am sorry.” He muttered again.

“Looks like he only knows to chant the sorry mantra. Fine, I’ll help you with it. 1st sorry for calling me ugly, say that you’re wife is the most beautiful girl.”

“Teresa is the most beautiful girl and I am sorry for calling her ugly.” He repeated.

She giggled.

“Next sorry for not looking at me even once during our first date and handing me the contract.” I pinched his nose, remembering that day when she was so excited to meet her fiancée and the so called fiancée now her husband didn’t even spare her a single glance and just handed her the contract papers.

He repeated after her. Oh my god, I am invincible I can make him do anything I want. Wow! She squealed.

“So, you agree that the whole contract marriage thing was stupid?”

“Yes. I am sorry.” He agreed.

“And say that I’m pretty.”

“umm, very pretty.” He nodded.

“Say that you missed me when I was not around?”

“I missed you.”

“Say that you were worried for me when you found out I was kidnapped?”

“I was freaking crazy.”

The things went just the way she wanted, he agreed to every single thing she was making him to, so she tried out her luck, “Say that you love me?”

He paused.

Is he awake? She panicked. “No way! He wouldn’t have said all those things if he was awake.” She checked and as expected he’s fast asleep.

Well, maybe I was expecting too much. Forget it. She thought.

“I lo---” Her eyes widened and she immediately kept her hand on his lips, stopping him. She took a deep breath, patting her chest to calm her racing heart, “As I thought, I am not ready yet.”

“Let’s leave that for when you’re awake. I don’t want you to say it in this state.” She whispered in his ear.

“But I guess I can say it when you’re like this, I am in love with my demon husband.” she whispered and kissed him on the cheek.

He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. Her breath stopped for a minute, Oh no! did he hear me? I hope not or else I’m dead!

*Flashback ends*

It’s great he doesn’t remember a thing. Haha! That makes it even more fun to tease him.

After the chase for few minutes, he finally got hold of the phone and deleted it.

He thinks I’m that stupid that I’ll record it on his phone and won’t make copies? I only made him hear the record which I wanted him to,the other video I have already sent it to my mail address and deleted from his phone at the night itself, but for now let’s make him think he won. She made a sad face, making him believe that was the only copy she had.

He smirked at his victory and she suppressed her smile.

Afternoon

Ai chan’s bakery

Outside the bakery there was a sign ‘closed for the day’ so there was no one except Teresa and her friends, Rina, Ren and Ai.

Teresa narrated the incident about the morning to her friends and laughed.

“You realized it just now. Anyone can tell he’s madly in love with you, idiot.” Rina rolled her eyes.

“Yeah, if looks could kill I would have died thousands of time with his piercing cold death glare. But seeing him jealous was fun, and you being clueless, was way more fun, so I decided to play along and made him even more jealous. The way he competed with me having the cakes he was sure to fall sick.” Ren smirked.

“So you’re going to confess?” asked Ai-chan.

“Am I mad? Do you know if I confess what will happen? His arrogance meter which is already full will overflow and don’t you know the one who confesses first looses and there’s no way I’ll lose, I’ll make him confess.” She declared crossing her arms.

“Now can we please focus on me?” Ren waved his hands on her face.

“Oh yeah sorry. Go ahead.” They all looked at him.

“I am in love.” He said taking a deep breath.

A moment of silence and then they all bursted into laughter.

“Ren, if you wanted to joke, you should have at least made it sound a bit real?” Said Rina laughing.

“Wow, my best friends are laughing at me, what can I expect from others?” He sulked.

“Are you for real? It wasn’t a joke?” Teresa asked him raising her voice, her eyes widened in surprise.

“Yeah right! I have all the time in the world to spin around you guys, taking your husband’s glare just for a joke.” He rolled his eyes.

“No, the greatest playboy, Ren is in love?” She shouted.

Rina’s expression changed, “Teresa, I think we know a greater player than him.” She raised her brows looking at another direction.

Teresa followed her gaze out of the bakery and through the glass doors, saw Rihito getting out of his car with a stunningly beautiful girl.

“He’s like a sneeze, can come anywhere at any time. Big player jerk!” She rolled her eyes.

Teresa stared at Rina for a minute, she noticed Rihito from here? Wow! Rina taking interest in him? Did something happen between them?

Teresa is brought back from her thoughts as Rina asks looking back at Ren. “But why do you need our help in that? You are an expert?”

“Yeah but she also thinks I’m not serious and now she’s completely ignoring me. I don’t know what to do to make her understand.” Ren kept his hands on his head.

“Looks like we’re all troubled by love yeah?” Teresa crossed her arms, leaning back.

“Except for me.” Ai smiled proudly.

Rina was betrayed by Eros, Teresa was troubled by her arrogant husband, Ren seems to be in love but his girl doesn’t trust him. Only Ai was safe. “Want us to find one for you?” Teresa teased her.

“No!” Ai said vigorously shaking her head. “Let’s just focus on his problem for no.” Ai pointed at Ren.

“So guys, please help me out.” Ren folded his hands, begging before them. “You’re all girls so please help me understand and win this girl.”

“Don’t worry buddy. Of course we’ll help you.” Rina patted his back.

“Tell us about her.” They all said in unison.

“Her name is Miya Kitazawa.” He started. Teresa looked at his eyes, the way they shined when he talked about her, Teresa sighed at the thought, how long would it take for Ryouma to have that look on his face, she wished for that day to come soon. Would that day even come? She still had her doubts.
