Morgan attacked with both weapons, Trinity aiming for the neck and Serpent for his floating rib. His sword was in his hand, blocking Trinity as he swung away from Raven’s blade. An arc of light was produced by the opposing metals when their swords met, dancing across them like lighting. Semele struck at her side, but he didn’t have enough room to build any power. Morgan held her ground, the sword bouncing off her dragonscales. Under her mask, her lips curled into a smirk.

“You may have forged a sword of Blood Iron, but everyone knows a dragon’s belly is its weakness. You can’t cut its scale.” she scoffed.

The parasite snarled in return and lunged forward. Morgan sidestepped, intercepting his sword with Serpent. The arcs of light appeared again as she and Semele grappled for control of his sword. Morgan had meant to disarm him, but she wasn’t at the right angle. Semele gripped his sword so hard his knuckles were white, pushing back. Morgan abandoned her original idea and struck with Trinity. The heavy pommel of the sword hit Semele’s sternum, and he reeled back. Without hesitating, Morgan followed up with the blade. The parasite barely managed a weak block. Another attack with Serpent yielded a deep cut in his hip.

Though Semele tried to back away, Morgan kept up the pressure. He was good with the sword, but Morgan was too close. Her extra dagger gave her an advantage, and she pressed that. His wound was slowing him down. Morgan flipped Trinity in her hand and went for his chest, the different angle allowing her to build more power. The parasite raised his sword to block it, catching the glint in her eye before he felt the sting of the gash on his forearm.

She rushed him again, somehow getting even faster. She kept up a constant flurry of strikes, and Semele just couldn’t move quite fast enough. He just barely kept up with her two blades. She used her feathered wings as barriers, corralling him. The back wall was too close. He was cornered. Morgan’s eyes, now an intense glacial blue with slit pupils, lit up with the prospect of victory. The parasite looked around frantically, a trapped, injured and desperate animal.

He threw his weight towards her, catching her by surprise. She fell back, but caught her balance. Semele now had the distance advantage back. However, the parasite was seething. It was not supposed to go this way. The Blood Iron would have blocked her magic. Morgan saw the look of frustration in his eyes.

“You underestimated me.” she laughed. “I don’t need magic to take a bastard like you down. You fucked it up.”

The parasite snarled. He couldn’t afford to lose. He may never get another chance. The boy knew who was pulling the strings now. What if he learned all of the truth? No, that couldn’t happen. The parasite couldn’t let Morgan get to Semele, the real Semele…

A black spear materialized in his right hand. Before Morgan could think, he hurled it at her. The Trinity spell, still drawn on her wrists and neck, bent, cracked, and then shattered completely. The dragonscales and mail did nothing against the manifestation of black magic. Morgan cried out as a wave of cold ripped through her. The spear dissolved into smoke, leaving no visible wound. Morgan stood in shock. She stumbled forward, and fell.
