Chapter 13 planning surprise visitor

Selena

It’s been a couple of days since the announcement and Gwen was forcefully dragged back home… I officially moved into Kieran’s room, but we haven’t done anything except kiss yet. I miss Gwen so much… luckily we text whenever we can. We’ve been full steam on ceremony planning since we announced it. I’ve also spent more time in his office now.

“So when should the ceremony be?” I ask him out of curiosity.

“I’ve heard that Halloween strengthens us so we could do it then.”

“Stronger how?” I only thought that was a rumor.

“Well, we’re affected by the moon and if a full moon happens on Halloween next year that’s when we’re at our strongest physically... and sexually.” He smirks at me and it makes me blush. We don’t get too physical mostly since I don’t know how to.

“I suppose then we can do it then.” I blush harder thinking about it.

“Great. That gives us plenty of time to plan and shop accordingly. The big question is do you want to invite your family to the wedding?” I let out a deep sigh… I’ve thought about this myself...

“I definitely want my siblings there, but I’m not sure about my parents… if they came as a plus one maybe I’d let it slide, but I’m not going out of my way to invite them.”

“Alright that’s your choice, but to be honest from the experience we had a few days ago with your parents no wonder you want to cut ties with them.”

“Yup… welcome to the glimpse of the royal family and how they treat their kids… all I am to them is just political gain… and now you saw it for yourself… I’m sorry you had to see that.” I leaned my head against his shoulder.

“I’d stand up for you and defend you time and time again.” He wraps me in his arms and gives me a light kiss. I smile at him and I get these butterflies when I’m near him. It makes me blush more to be so giddy and nervous around him. Since moving into his room I’ve gotten more comfortable with him and sleeping in his arms at night… it’s an amazing feeling being in his arms… I never want to let go of him…

“Well, what else should we book ahead? The wedding venue?” I try to relax and calm down a little and try to focus back on planning.

“Oh, no need to worry about that, we can have it here. Maybe in the flower gardens since you like spending time there.”

“Yeah, I think that’d be beautiful.” I don’t think I can blush harder. He’s being so sweet! “I think I should check in with your mom to make sure that I’m not neglecting anything. I’ll be back.”

“Alright, I’ll probably be here.” He kisses me on the cheek and I make my way out of his office.

Kieran

Selena’s warm scent still lingered as she left the office and I just wanted to take her when she was here, but I know she’s inexperienced, so I’m going to wait and make it on her terms. I was lost in thought when I heard a knock on my door.

“Come in!” I yell gently, I was expecting Selena to come back from talking to mom, but I doubt she’d be that fast. To my surprise, it was my friend, Georgie…

“Oh… Georgie… this is a surprise.”

“Alpha Kieran…” She bows her head out of respect for me. “I’ve heard congratulations are in order.” She tries to smile at me but I can tell she’s a little sad.

“Yeah, I made the engagement announcement a few days ago. Were you not there?” The entire pack was there or at least I thought everyone.

“No… I was busy…” She seemed to be hiding something.

“Busy with what?” I ask her curiously.

“Oh just busy at the daycare. Parents wanted to have a good time and can’t be with pups in the way.” I know she’s hiding something, but I can bug her about it later since she clearly doesn’t want to tell me.

“Riight… anything else you wanted to talk to me about?”

“Oh just wanted to say hi, congrats on the engagement, and my monthly report on how the pups are doing. Ya know what they’re learning, any fights, stuff like that.”

“Well, that can be given to Selena or my mom.”

“Right… I almost forgot… but I thought it was ok to give it to you too.”

“I guess not. I can give it to them.” Clearly, she has something she wants to tell me. “Something on your mind, Georgie?”

“Oh nothing… just reminiscing on how I’ve missed you… how much time we used to spend together… how we were going to be each other’s chosen mates if we didn’t find our destined ones… I remember how good of a kisser you were…” Oh boy… this could lead to trouble if I’m not careful… she sits on my desk in her tight forest green, knee-length, long-sleeve dress.

“Nice dress…”

“Thanks. I changed after dealing with the rugrats.” Oh, she did this on purpose… I really hope Selena isn’t walking in anytime soon.

Selena

“Now that we finished our luna duties for the day, did you want to talk about the wedding?” Caroline asked with an eager smile.

“Sure of course, I want Gwen, Mia, and Raven to be bridesmaids, groomsmen I’d suppose would be Connor and Conrad, along with Mia’s mate, Ash, maybe my brothers Liam and Jude, but that’s up to Kieran. Maybe I should ask him about that. I’ll be back.” I leave her office to go find Kieran.

“Sure I’ll be here.” She hollers from her office. I walk back to his office and I smell a scent that I’ve never smelled before… vanilla, rose and lavender… what is that? I can kind of peek in a little without being noticed.

“Something on your mind, Georgie?”

“Oh, nothing… just reminiscing on how I’ve missed you… how much time we used to spend together… how we were going to be each other’s chosen mates if we didn’t find our destined ones… I remember how good of a kisser you were…”

“Nice dress…”

“Thanks. I changed after dealing with the rugrats.” Oh no she didn’t purposely dress like this to talk to him! So this is the other woman I’ve been hearing about… From what I could see she was tall, athletic, long, wavy, bright, orangey copper-red.

“What the heck is going on here?! Who do you think you are that you can come in here like you own the place!?” Shocked looks on both their faces as I come barging in the room and charge at her. Tears fill my eyes, but they just stare at me. She smirks at me with her gray eyes like she knew I was outside the door.

“Nothing, we’re just friends. Georgie was giving me a daycare report. Can I speak to you in private?” Does he think I’m stupid!?

“NO! And that’s not what I heard!” I try to take a deep breath before going completely off. “IF that’s really what’s going on then why did I just hear that you two were going to be chosen mates!?” I got up in her face, and I could almost see the fear in her eyes. “He’s MY MATE! Paws off!” I growl at her, angry tears almost falling down my face, but I refuse to let her get the satisfaction of her getting to me.

“Selena, let me explain!” He tries to grovel, but I’m not in the mood to listen.

“No, I don’t want a lie. You’re my alpha and I’M your LUNA! NOT this wannabe!” I point to who I presume is Georgie.

“Selena, just let me talk for a second!” He growls at me and I can tell from his eyes that his wolf, Duncan, was about to take over.

“Fine, talk.” I cross my arms as he tries to grovel.

“IF you had heard her she said CHOSEN mate, but YOU are who I want. Now that you’re in my life I’m not letting you go.” I stare at her. Carolina threatened to come out and rip into her.

“And I’m here to stay wannabe! This is OUR PACK, NOT YOURS! NOBODY is going to take away what’s rightfully mine, not even you!” I stared at her and growled at her and it was the first time I could feel Carolina coming through as I’ve never felt before. I glared at him making it clear that I’m upset with him, and just left his office. I finally let the tears run down my face and attempt to run to our room when I bump into his mom again.

Kieran

After Selena left the office I felt awful. I stare her down and I can see she feels bad or maybe that’s just something I want to see. I look down at my desk and let out a deep sigh.

“I’m sorry, Alpha Kieran… I didn’t mean to cause trouble. I just wanted to talk.” She tells me sweetly… I know she likes to dress up when she’s off work. She does it all the time.

“I know you didn’t do it on purpose but for now I think it’d be best if you left my office now.”

“Alright, I’ll just drop off my reports and leave since we got off on the wrong foot.”

“You don’t have to be so formal when we’re alone, but just don’t let Selena hear you.” I think about getting up to leave to go after Selena but decided not to so she can cool off.
