Howard chimed in as well, “Exactly! there’s no need to worry too much. Cooking, like everything else, requires practice. And it’s natural for everyone to have areas they excel in and others they don’t. Lysais SO exceptional in other aspects that it’s completely normal if her cooking skills are a bit lacking….
Watching her parents and sister converse back and forth, Lysander’s heart gradually found a sense of
calm.
Daphne also joined in on the conversation. “No worries! I’m famously known for my strong digestive system. As long as it’s edible, I can digest it!”
“Daphne, send me the address later, I’ve just learned how to use Google Maps and I want to see where Lysa is living now.”
“Huh? The address?” She turned to look at Lysander. Upon seeing her nod in response, Daphne said, “All right, Mrs. Thorne. I’ll send it to you in a bit.”
“Okay. Speaking of which, you should hurry up and get her a SIM card. We can’t always trouble you whenever we want to contact Lysa.”
“Sure thing. When I go out to buy things later, I’ll take her along and get it done.”
After ending the call, Daphne asked, “Feeling relieved now?”
Lysander nodded in response.
But soon, Daphne’s phone rang again. t
“It’s my dad,” she said before answering the phone. “Hello, Dad. We’ve arrived, so don’t worry… Wha All right; I understand.”
Lysander shot her a questioning glance.
Daphne gritted her teeth and explained, “My dad said my grandma had a fall. It’s kind of serious.”
Lysander nudged her, signaling her to hurry back to her country.
Naturally, Daphne found it hard to leave her here all by herself. “But you’ve just arrived here, and you can’t speak. If I’m not around-

Daphne hailed a cab and left shortly after.
Without Daphne’s constant chatter by her side, Lysander found it a little hard getting used to.
Even so, it didn’t matter. She was in a foreign land, and she had promised herself a fresh start. As such, she had to manage her new life well.
Although the house was already quite clean, she decided to make another trip to the supermarket, She purchased some household items and food, then spent the afternoon tidying up the bedroom. Afterward, she cooked herself a meal.
In all fairness, her cooking skills weren’t really that bad.
However, when compared to the seasoned culinary master Laura, it simply didn’t measure up.
Over the years, she had essentially grown accustomed to eating in the hospital cafeteria. Back in the day, when she used to visit the Guerra family’s old house, they had a chef who prepared meals. Later when she returned to her own home, her mother would always prepare a lavish feast for each meal a result, she had never had to worry about food.
Now, she had to gradually adapt to all of these.
In the evening, a gentle drizzle began to fall in the foggy city.
As she was heading downstairs to close the door, the doorbell suddenly rang, startling Lysander.
Rendered speechless, all she could do was to knock hard on the door from the inside to indicate that someone was home.
A familiar voice echoed from outside shortly after. “Lysander, it’s me.”
