Aurelia tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and sighed. "It wasn't you but fate who tore us apart. If we weren't meant to be together for life, there would have been someone or something else to drive a wedge between us." In a way, Lisa had indirectly made a choice for her, allowing her to see who she wanted to spend her life with was Leopold.

Arnold had left her with the flutter of first love, but it was Leopold whom she loved.

Although he could be domineering, autocratic, and moody with a fickle temperament, he was like a spell that had her tightly bound. Every tshe thought she could escape, she was inevitably drawn back in.

Perhaps it was destiny.

Lisa knitted her brows slightly, with a trace of wistfulness clouding her features.

"I wonder if there's still a chance for Arnold and me?" Aurelia pursed her lips thoughtfully. "Why don't you have Beverley cover on the weekend and read your tarot cards? She's eerily accurate, you know?" "Alright," Lisa nodded in agreement.

Aurelia returned to the Stirling Mansion, where Leopold was busy with paperwork in his study. Not wanting to disturb him, she went straight to the bathroom.

As she lay in the whirlpool tub, nearly dozing off, a large hand suddenly covered her heart. She jolted awake to see the devastatingly handsface that seemed to outshine anything in the mundane world.

"Why didn't you callfor your bath?" he teased.

She shot him a playful glare. "Why should I? I enjoy bathing alone." Undeterred, he stepped into the tub and pulled her into his embrace. "Solo fun is fine, but shared fun is better." After a whirlwind of passion, he carried her from the bathroom and they both collapsed onto the bed.

She reached for an orange from the nightstand, peeling a segment and popping it into her mouth. After savoring it, she murmured, "Arnold and Lisa got a divorce. As the head of the Stirling family, I thought you should be the first to know." Leopold arched his brows slightly. "You went to Lisa's place today to comfort her?" Aurelia nodded. "I hope Arnold and Lisa could make things work." Leopold suspected that Arnold had rushed the divorce in reaction to his reunion with Aurelia.

"Now that you're my wife again, you need to keep your distance from Arnold, understood?" She looked at him earnestly. "We haven't formalized our remarriage yet, and Arnold will always be a good friend, with or without you." His frown deepened. "If I weren't in the picture, you wouldn't marry Arnold?" She playfully wrinkled her nose. "If I had never met you and only knew Arnold, of course, I'd want to marry him. A perfect gentleman is a woman's ideal match." Leopold was momentarily speechless, dodging his question.

"You were always meant to be my wife, so inevitably, our paths had to cross." She asked, teasingly, "So, was that a stroke of good luck or bad?" "What do you think?" he countered.

She hung her head, letting out a long sigh. "I don't know. Who knows what the future holds?" His heart plummeted at her lack of confidence.

"Can't you have a little faith in me?" She pouted. "You have to givea reason to have faith. Showgood behavior, and then I'll have confidence." He flicked her forehead gently. "Findanother man who embodies the virtues of fidelity, purity, and lifelong commitment as I do.

Can you?" Aurelia was utterly disheveled by his audacity.

This guy sure knew how to sing his praises.

Yet, she found she had no comeback.

"Anyway, you better shape up. I don't want to regret getting back together with you." "Fine, I'll behave. I'll honor the virtues of a good husband and give my wife every reason to trust me." Leopold surrendered and was smitten with Aurelia. All his wife said made a difference.
